Stolen from somewhere else.

I expect many of you remember this 2002 Nike ad. The two questions are:

Bearing in mind that quick, tight, physical format

Which three current players would you select for Saints?

and

Which three all time Saints players?

For all-time, try to stick to how they were at their peak while playing for Saints, so, for example, Bale was skillful, but still pretty lightweight and far from the player he became. That's the Bale you would be selecting.

Current: You need players willing to get stuck in (Romeu), with non-stop effort (Ward-Prowse), and who are able to put the ball in the net (Ings).

All time: So many to choose from! Svensson, Paine, Lambert

Today JWP - Djenepo - Boufal (because there isn’t too much pitch for him to think about)

In their prime - I’m going to cheat and steal Sir Bobby Robson’s comment for my team

“if you could make the ultimate player”

You would have the strength of Shearer

The speed of Wallace

The skill of Le Tissier

Oh to have had that combination (all in their prime) on the pitch for Saints in recent years.

Three great attacking players, maybe not enough tough tackling (or constant workrate in the case of Le Tissier. Shearer wasn't quite the finished product in his saints prime, but would probably still be good in something like this.
