Flowers & Davis cup final keepers at Wembley ZDS & JPT

Niemi & Jones cup final keepers at Cardiff FA Cup

how’s this relevant to the question?

Well, that has to be right.

In which season did saints record the biggest win in the division for that season 6-0 and also record the two joint highest scoring games with a 6-2 win and a 6 -2 loss.

76/77

Who was the last German born to have played for Saints?
Maik Taylor was a forces child and was born in Germany but there must be someone since then, surely?

Sorry, Has this been done before?

Think it might (can't be bothered to check back) but not enough for me to remember the answer. Possibly me having a funny five minutes.

Cedric Soares

Not quite, Turkish asked for the 2 German born players who played for Saints in the 1990's, and won international caps for countries other than Germany. ( Maik Taylor and Alan Neilson ).

Bonus question while we wait for Badger:

Which saints player was named after eighties soul singer Al Jarreau?

Eljero Elia.

Now, the waiting is over, here is the next question;

Dave Jones took a Saints 'first team' to which ground for a match to dedicate a new stand, opened by Sir Bobby Charlton ?

Posted
Yes! I saw it the other day when looking something up. Discovering that Eljero is supposed to be Al Jarreau made my day.

Well he was "Moonlighting" as a Saints player.

(I'm not wearing my coat indoors)

Morecombe

Correct, Christie Park, the then home of Conference side Morecambe. ( The next nearest football ground to our house after Fleetwood's Highbury Stadium, this was the first Saints game for my youngest son ). The Saints squad included most of the first team roster, including MLT, Beatts, and Mark Hughes.

The ground has now been replaced by a Sainsbury's.
