It depends how long he's out for. If he stays and only plays another 8 or so games then it would be wiser to sell him, especially if KWP is on board and Valery is close to returning from illness. £6 million is a whole Bednarek or close to a whole Armstrong, we seem to do OK for players in that cost bracket. (Semi-similarly, Tottenham sold Erikson for effectively 'peanuts' when they could have kept him and used him for the rest of the season to finish higher.) If it were Ings or JWP or even Bertrand we were talking about, it would be different, but not Cedric, who has already stated he's definitely leaving.

For £6 million I'd be selling him. But would be want to be second choice behind a newly fit Bellerin?

Well that's a bit of a downgrade if it's true we're getting 'third choice' KWP instead of Cedric. Not really convinced 'the **** Kyle Walker' is actually good with only about 15 appearances since his breakthrough about 3 years ago... When's Valery back? Again, not perfect, but think he's a talented footballer.

He's currently our best right back playing in a settled defence. Happy days.

He’s Also injured. This one will divide the fan base but I think taking the money is the better option. That’s a whole player knowing our budgets! Vote!

As a player though he’s been OK, tough act to follow after Clyne and Chambers but Martina was often picked ahead of him which says something.

If it’s a loan we’re basically just getting Cedrics wages off the books, perhaps with a loan fee on top, I’d rather keep him and not have Walker-Peters to be honest.

Classic saints. The manager says we’re short in the full back positions so rather than strengthen there we get one in and one out and stay the same.

Don't know what all the hysteria is about. Cedric doesn't want to be here and has subsequently played pretty poorly for most of the season. KWP is a half decent attacking fullback that Spurs don't want to sell and who needs games and he will cover whilst Valery continues to recover.

Then in the summer we'll buy a new RB.

Cedric is one of our high earners. Not bothered about him leaving tbh. Bebe can cross a ball better than him.

Settling for a player of the quality of Cedric to be our right back is one of many reasons we're so ****, he's also out for the next month so the "settled defence" element is null.

Even though he won’t be playing for most of the next month?

This is the crux of it! We started the month with 'full back is our focus, need strengthening there'. It started to look pretty unlikley we'd even manage to get KWP on loan through the door, but the tone of one player leaving...Goas ears poked up - now we can get KWP in! But we're now in the same place at full back, albiet with less experience.

Ralph must be having kittens, surely.
