Forester Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 This is absolutely reliable - PLC board will announce 1st week of Feb that company is entering administration. This is info I have obtained this afternoon from a wholly credible source. An absolutely massive blow, as I read this as relegation now a certainty. While it may in the long term prove a blessing in disguise, this will prove the absolutely bottom point we have reached for many decades. I am gutted tonight
LGTL Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 If true, surely Lowe has FAILED once again, since he came here to STOP administration? Bottom 2 and Administration, cheers Rupert.
rocknrollman no2 Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 They were hinting that this might be the case on local radio today. If this indeed is the case, then its a very sad time for SFC and we all know which Chairman is responsible. I wonder how he will explain this one?
Mole Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 I said yesterday that Lowe not sacking JP was a clear sign of where we were heading.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Unsubstantiated but entirely likely IMO .
Forester Posted 21 January, 2009 Author Posted 21 January, 2009 I cannot share my source, but suffice to say it is a party involved in the process
exit2 Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 I earlier received a message saying Admin is due on 3rd Feb, so it might be that the rumour is flying around quickly and not true. But if we were going into admin it would have to be before the march deadline?
aintforever Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Why have we just signed Smith on a perminant deal then? Seems a strange thing to do as you enter admin
Window Cleaner Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Probably explains the woeful performance last Saturday then. The players would know about it for sure.
bridge too far Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Ties in with this, then http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=8444&highlight=February
Bailey Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Even if this particular rumour isn't true, surely it's not too long before the inevitable happens? A sad, sad day if this is true though.
Window Cleaner Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Why have we just signed Smith on a perminant deal then? Seems a strange thing to do as you enter admin Because if we want to carry on we have to have players, now I'm no expert on this but if we go into administration we wouldn't be able to sign anyone, there's only 1 door and it's for going out of.Preemption of the situation perhaps. I suppose the board have tried to shift players for money but there's nothing doing so this is the only way.
1965onwards Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Expect Lowe told players on monday to play for their careers. Not a good history for players of clubs going into admin.
Window Cleaner Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Ties in with this, then http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=8444&highlight=February Administration and winding up aren't the same thing though.
NickG Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Why have we just signed Smith on a perminant deal then? Seems a strange thing to do as you enter admin and Molyneux and Saeijs????
aintforever Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Because if we want to carry on we have to have players, now I'm no expert on this but if we go into administration we wouldn't be able to sign anyone, there's only 1 door and it's for going out of.Preemption of the situation perhaps. Still seems odd that they would commit themselves to spending more money on wages if the situation is so dire.
John D Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Timing would make sense ie after transfer window has shut Perhaps we have not had any interest in any players (or interest at the right price) therefore unlikely we will sell anyone. If we cannot reduce overdraft it may be that Barclays are saying enough is enough Not good
1965onwards Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 It is obvious that we are still losing money each month, shareholders are not going to put money in,and the bank will not let the overdraft increase. We are insolvent, and must declare ourselves as such.
Window Cleaner Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 and Molyneux and Saeijs???? Saejis is on loan. Molyneux?? probably on next to nothing. Our better players will go,even after the transfer window closes perhaps. Can the administrator cancel their contracts to enable them to move on??
Window Cleaner Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 True, you cannot sign anyone when under admin. Still seems odd that they would commit themselves to spending more money on wages if the situation is so dire. Do not all contracts become null and void IF a player has a chance of moving on?
Thedelldays Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 one thing..I remember posters on here getting dogs abuse for predicting this in the summer.. ffs why us
1965onwards Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Players become free agents when we go into admin as far as i am aware.
Ponty Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 one thing..I remember posters on here getting dogs abuse for predicting this in the summer.. To be expected. It's a scenario only a very few would relish, and acceptance of its inevitability is not easy.
aintforever Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Saejis is on loan. Molyneux?? probably on next to nothing. Our better players will go,even after the transfer window closes perhaps. Can the administrator cancel their contracts to enable them to move on?? But surely the cheaper option would be to play Lancashire instead of Saejis, Mills instead of Molyneaux and Thomson/Gobern/whoever instead of Smith?
Window Cleaner Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 one thing..I remember posters on here getting dogs abuse for predicting this in the summer.. ffs why us 5000 less on home gates for whatever reason plus three big millstones round our necks that we haven't been able to shift for love nor money. One came back and tipped the scales.
Mole Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 The Charlie Sale story is bugging me a bit. I won't voice my concerns though except to say he is a Lowe Luvvie so he's not to be trusted. Also i do get suspicious of "newbie posters", no offence forrester. I'm sure i'm not the only one to check your previous post. You mentioned finances in your Preston match analysis so this does nothing to set my mind at rest. Please don't take thse comments the wrong way but i always think it best to trust no-one until you're sure of them. No doubt the mods will be having a look, IP's and all that - i know i would.
Snowballs2 Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Now we really have to fear Lowe picking up the PLC on the cheap, HE MUST NEVER GET HOLD OF US AGAIN
Bailey Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 On the flip side of course, this could be a one of Lowe's PR plants, making us think admin is just around the corner, when in fact all that's going to happen is Lowe sells (insert name here) and claims that this move has fought off the threat of admin, claiming that he has saved the club.
Window Cleaner Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 But surely the cheaper option would be to play Lancashire instead of Saejis, Mills instead of Molyneaux and Thomson/Gobern/whoever instead of Smith? But Lancashire is a liability. He keeps getting red carded and giving away penalties. Just because your very poor is doesn't mean you have to accept rubbish. No doubt we tried to move players on to compensate. Something has gone wrong and we've tipped over the edge. Still nothing official but .....
Andy_Porter Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 What horrible news, If this is true then the Watford and Bristol City games should be interesting. I hope there is a knight in shining armour ready to bail us out before administration hits. Only seems like yesterday we where on the pitch at St Marys celebrating survival, seems like it was all in vain.
Legod Third Coming Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Saejis is on loan. Molyneux?? probably on next to nothing. Our better players will go,even after the transfer window closes perhaps. Can the administrator cancel their contracts to enable them to move on?? I thought all player's contracts were effectively invalidated on entering adminsitration.

Still nothing official but ..... No, that doesn't add up, if we on the verge of admin and certain relegation why the **** would you give a damn about the liability of a centreback?!
hypochondriac Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 one thing..I remember posters on here getting dogs abuse for predicting this in the summer.. ffs why us It will be important to note though if it is Lowe putting us into admin or if we are forced into it.
thorpie the sinner Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Weren't Coventry going under before SISU came in at the 11th hour? Oh well just a positive view....arghhhhhhhhhh

First thread I have ever started, but can absolutely assure you I received this info this afternoon
NickG Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Saejis is on loan. Molyneux?? probably on next to nothing. Our better players will go,even after the transfer window closes perhaps. Can the administrator cancel their contracts to enable them to move on?? thinking about it since posted, suppose neither involve a fee and although it is a company recruiting when they are aware they are going into administration I suppose they are at a salary level suitable for a post administration club.

SaintRobbie Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Assuming Saints do go into administration. Who is taking us over? Why is Lowe doing it now and not fighting until the last minute? What does he have planned?
Legod Third Coming Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Weren't Coventry going under before SISU came in at the 11th hour? Oh well just a positive view....arghhhhhhhhhh Hundreds of clubs and business are 'about to go into adminsitration' when an eleventh hour deal is achieved. Of course, these days there is no compunction to do the deal before admin because there is rarely a 'penalty' for administration in ordinary business. However, in football there is!!!
Window Cleaner Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 thinking about it since posted, suppose neither involve a fee and although it is a company recruiting when they are aware they are going into administration I suppose they are at a salary level suitable for a post administration club. But if administration became necessary after they were recruited?? ie because we can't move players on.
AwaySaint1 Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 have heard similar. So have I,read it in the top post.
Thedelldays Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 we wont be so lucky and come out of this in anything like a good way.... we are not that lucky anymore...I think we used all our luck in the early 90s
NickG Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 What horrible news, If this is true then the Watford and Bristol City games should be interesting. Hope this is one that isn't true
