Weston Super Saint Posted 28 December, 2019 Share Posted 28 December, 2019 This country is hilarious.! Agreed - and it's more the faces that are pulled and the social commentary that make it work as much as the script.
Batman Posted 28 December, 2019 Share Posted 28 December, 2019 Is that the one with the munter in the swindon town shirt? Yep very good. Yep, that’s the one. I am sure she writes it with her real life brother (on screen cousin, Curtain)
OldNick Posted 28 December, 2019 Share Posted 28 December, 2019 Yep, that’s the one. I am sure she writes it with her real life brother (on screen cousin, Curtain)Yep and her father in it is their real dad.
alehouseboys Posted 28 December, 2019 Share Posted 28 December, 2019 Early doors ... much under rated. Very much. Call me a **** but I liked 'Two Doors Down', WILTY is always good, and most recently, 'Mortimer and Whitehouse Gone Fishing' has provided chuckles. Yeah, me too, but thought it was OK as a piece of Xmas TV. Been a lot worse hyped to the same level in previous years. Run it’s course though. Hope they leave it alone now. shurlock Posted 29 December, 2019 Share Posted 29 December, 2019 Yep and her father in it is their real dad. The mother, Sue, is my favourite character in the series.
OldNick Posted 30 December, 2019 Share Posted 30 December, 2019 The mother, Sue, is my favourite character in the series.Kerry ( main character) does her voice. Mandy the butch 'friend' is good. I have watched both series quite a few times and still find new amusing bits.
John Boy Saint Posted 30 December, 2019 Share Posted 30 December, 2019 Very much. Call me a **** but I liked 'Two Doors Down', WILTY is always good, and most recently, 'Mortimer and Whitehouse Gone Fishing' has provided chuckles. That is such easy viewing and subtly amusing - but then I’m an old fart who does laugh at Porridge. Some one earlier in the thread briefly mentioned A Christmas Carol on the 3 evenings before Christmas whilst not funny I thought it was pretty good. G&S is a bit like the Royale Family with a few more sets.and bigger budget.

LVSaint Posted 1 January, 2020 Share Posted 1 January, 2020 I’ve always felt Reeves was just dining out on being that surreal bloke from Shooting Stars, without actually doing anything funny or original since them. Don’t get me wrong, I loved that show in the nineties but nowadays Ric just seems like he’s being weird for the sake of weird. Just saw a bit of Jules Holland Hogmany and Vic Reeves was drunk as a skunk, but sort of acted the same incoherent way he does when he's cornered on his own. Agreed, fine with a sidekick (in the 90's) but offers nothing by himself. I suppose the same goes for Bob Mortimer, who clicked so well with Paul Whitehouse on their fishing show.
