OttawaSaint Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Hoj is always off balance. Comical last few minutes from him.
Sunglasses Ron Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Oh for a Huddersfield style 3-1 away win to get us into the holiday mood. Come on Saints! I called it :-)
Jimmy_D Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Near perfect set of results today as an early Christmas present
Ohio Saint Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Imagine just how bad today might have been!!!
East Kent Saint Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 I did panic when they scored but it’s good to have a none depressing Saturday for a change !
skintsaint Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Wooohoo, a standard 3-1 Saints win! Now to drink more **** and fall asleep.
Matthew Le God Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 We will get murdered in the middle of the park...again Game over Jumping the gun... again
HarvSFC Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Easy, never really in doubt. So there are three teams that are actually worse than us... One point off Bournemouth and the south coast is theirs, they have one of the best managers in the league and all that...
OttawaSaint Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Great game. Only 1pt behind Bournemouth, 2 behind BHA. Merry Christmas!
Mr X Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 we don't make it easy do we? even at three nil up! excellent result but still the nerves/mistakes remain
Jimmy_D Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 That has to be the first comfortable victory we've had in quite some time.
Saint_Tony Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Incredible, out the bottom 3 and other results have gone our way. Can't get my head around it. Should be buzzing but almost in a state of shock. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Ohio Saint Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 And relax I can't afford to due to the advancing age of my bladder
Dusic Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Can't argue with beating all three sides in the relegation zone in recent weeks...takes some bottle. Sounded like our best performance of the season today. Great team selection from Ralph.
ButtikonSaint Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Get in... Nice Xmas present to the fans from the Saints ... good performance, good goals, defensively pretty sound... out of the bottom 3... Hope the Saints saved enough to give me a late present ... as I'm travelling back home next week and will be at the Palace game ... Merry Xmas everyone :-)
stknowle Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Well played lads didn't think they had it in them. First time we've scored 3 all season, Stephens was outstanding. Clearly a player in there after all. We'd clearly be ****ed without Ings but then you could say that about most teams with their main scorer taken away. I don't like this team whatsoever but they might just have enough to survive again.
jasonb Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Good stuff lads. Showing some bottle and quality there. Happy Crimbo my fellow Saints!
DT Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 My 100% tactic of avoiding all scores until FT worked a treat again. Bloody great result and a good set from others. Excellent. Happy bunny. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
trousers Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Jumping the gun... againYeah, but when he gets it right, he can play his "told you so" card, and when he gets it wrong he can play his "glad I was wrong" card....
stevy777_x Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 To the lot of you who keep critizising on and on the team, think we are already down and have given up, go and support another football club. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You ll no doubt be back calling for Ralph s head if we lose to Chelsea on boxing day.
benjii Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Hoj is always off balance. Comical last few minutes from him. True. So slow to get set to play a pass and sort his body and feet out. If we had a decent playmaker and a centre back it would make a huge difference.
Saint Pete Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Great stuff, massive 3 points for us. Out of the bottom 3 and back on the tails of Bournemouth, Brighton and Everton after their results today. Thank fook for Danny Ings, we must keep that man fit! Merry Christmas one and all :
Dark Munster Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Can we play away from home every week?
Hamilton Saint Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Excellent effort from the entire team. Looked good in that 4-4-2 formation. We seem to have a more settled team now.
redkeith Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Played well to a man, but that Long miss from a yard out ! !!! Thought both full backs were great, especially in the first half. Brilliant run from Bertrand to win the corner for the 2nd goal. Well done to Jack Stephens. He may not be Toby, or Fonte, but he is one of the best 2 we have at the moment. We should have won the last 3 away games and be mid table, but is looking a bit more hopeful .
Ohio Saint Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Yeah, but when he gets it right, he can play his "told you so" card, and when he gets it wrong he can play his "glad I was wrong" card.... But his deck is only total tosser cards.
badgerx16 Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Have we yet found 3 worse teams than Saints? Villa's next 2 games are Norwich and Watford.
Jimmy_D Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Can't argue with beating all three sides in the relegation zone in recent weeks...takes some bottle. Sounded like our best performance of the season today. Great team selection from Ralph. Absolutely massive run of results, that's in effect a 12 point swing against our direct relegation rivals. We're still in a relegation battle, but we've found at least three teams that could well end up worse than us.
OttawaSaint Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Should have been 6-1 but will take the 3-1. When Hoj missed that open goal I thought “here we go again”. Was pretty comfortable in the end. Ings MOM followed by Stephens. Honourable mentions to Bertrand, Armstrong and JWP.
Batman Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 great win and never really in doubt. they were atrocious, defending as bad as we have. Ings great, long was long, Stephens was good. We put some decent crosses in and exploited them on the break again, villa were terrible and in dire form!
Ohio Saint Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 To the lot of you who keep critizising on and on the team, think we are already down and have given up, go and support another football club. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You ll no doubt be back calling for Ralph s head if we lose to Chelsea on boxing day. So you are pleased with the rest of the season so far?
austsaint Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Great result -well done Danny Ings, Stephens and both full backs.
qwertyell Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 All right, all right, all right. Pretty cool. Thought we played quite nicely (albeit, Villa were appalling), and should have had an even more comprehensive victory but for some sloppy play at both ends. I wanted to give the much maligned Stephens a big wrap for his uncharacteristically competent defensive performance - but then he blotted his copybook in the last few minutes with two characteristic lapses in concentration that caused a bit of panic. Still, you've got to take what you can get with our defence. 18 points at almost halfway - will double that keep us up? At least we're still hanging in there, fighting. Onwards. Merry Christmas everyone. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk
aintforever Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Great result, didn’t see that coming after the West Ham performance. Looks like Ralph has found his formation, hopefully we can strengthen in Jan and we will be OK.
hackedoff Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Can't moan at a win but I can't get my head around the choice and timing of the subs, always seem to stifle the play. Had the chance to give Adams some time to maybe get a goal and sort his confidence, but no.
HarvSFC Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 This time last year we were three points worse off, but also one position higher.
trousers Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Villa's next 2 games are Norwich and Watford. A couple of draws there would be handy
Ade Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 we don't make it easy do we? even at three nil up! excellent result but still the nerves/mistakes remain Not sure what mistakes you are referring to. Their goal was a great shot which McCarthy couldn't do anything about. We were a team in the bottom 3 playing away from home. We created far more chances than Villa and deserved the win. I actually thought it was easy, even when they scored.
Ohio Saint Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 This time last year we were three points worse off, but also one position higher. Thanks for reminding me we are long term crap
Give it to Ron Posted 21 December, 2019 Posted 21 December, 2019 Good win now Palace at home important to kick on home form. Point at Chelsea optimistic? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
