Window Cleaner Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 A picture of that bloke was posted on here at a pre-season game, He was talking with Lowe, Jan and I think Wotte, I remember someone saying that Jan looked uncomfortable. Tried to find the pic using the search, but no luck. It would be on one of the preseason match threads, Basingstoke perhaps. You could check posts by Barcelona Saint (if the search function goes back that far)

You could check posts by Barcelona Saint (if the search function goes back that far) No, posts 'coincidently' only go back to beginning of Aug 08. The Farnborough match at which said photo was taken (by Simon Richards I believe) was early July and thus is erased from the 'records'.....oh, and someone posted that Simon can't find the original photo either. All true and unsuspicious IMHO
trousers Posted 27 January, 2009 Share Posted 27 January, 2009 A picture of a beaver would have naturally led to greater comical effect....but alas would have had less impat in depicting history repeating itself

NickG Posted 27 January, 2009 Share Posted 27 January, 2009 THE role of Kim van der Waals at Saints has been described by the club as an independent advisor. Speculation has been growing among fans about who the Dutchman is. Van der Waals has been seen on a regular basis in the directors’ box on matchdays at St Mary’s. He has also been visible at the club’s Staplewood training ground on occasions. Supporters have been intrigued as to what van der Waals’ role is, with some suggesting he could even be working as a director of football at Saints. But the club have stressed he is acting as an advisor and is not employed by them. He has helped broker the deals that have brought a number of players to the club this season, thought to include Lee Holmes, Ryan Smith, Jan-Paul Saeijs and Lee Molyneux, who all arrived on free transfers. Head coach Mark Wotte said: “Kim has been very helpful this season with his contacts in England to bring in players like Lee Holmes and Ryan Smith. “He is one of those contacts that we have in Southampton if we want to bring in good players. “He is well respected within the club, he is not employed by the club. “He is an independent contact for us and we are very happy with him
Scummer Posted 27 January, 2009 Share Posted 27 January, 2009 How does a dutch bloke who no-one has ever heard of develop really good contacts in England? I think we are being strung a line here. How's this for an idea? Employ a manager who knows the Championship already, then we wouldn't have to waste money on fees to this bloke. The 'cost saving measure' of the dutch experiment looks more and more flawed by the day.

So, if it's all innocent why not tell us about him in July/August last year? Surely if he's been as pivotal to the club's recruitment policy as the above article suggests then it's an important role (whether it's paid or not) and as such why not communicate someone with such an important role to the fans? Either he has an important/respected role or he doesn't? Once again, another situation that, given the information available, doesn't add up. Why, for example, would someone want to work on our behalf for nothing? (note: that is somewhat rhetorical as I can guess the answer)
Weston Saint Posted 27 January, 2009 Share Posted 27 January, 2009 Well done UmPahars in forcing a response from the club. The power of this forum is not as weak as some think.

I think we are being strung a line here... No offence, but YOU THINK! F*ckin damn right. A club statement - Coming from the man who would "not be interested in coming back to Saints". He emits bullsh*t from every pore. While Wilde slithers and scuttles behind him, leaping from shadow to shadow, peering nervously over his shoulder, while galloping towards his awaiting car. What a pair of w*nkers!

(note: that is somewhat rhetorical as I can guess the answer) Have you not noticed, in between what little inane info. the club do release, that most of the press reports we read are reactionary? In other words, it's in response to supporter feeling, forums and reports from the club spies/PR gang. Look at the protest plans, all sorts has come out as a result and I'm quite sure actions from the club have been some vain but poor attempt to suppress matters. Wilde reads this forum so it's no wonder he's sh*t scared to be seen out in public. Pair of t*ssers! Believe the rumours about the Dutch idiot/Lowe advisor/scout/spy/no hoper wanting a job in football. Players don't keep quiet about everything they're told not to speak about. And if they are badgering the players too much about releasing info., no wonder morale is soooo c*p!
