Kim van der Waals.....revealed sort of :)

Hmm. So the plot thickens.

The question remains, if what we've 'discovered' is correct, then just how did this guy make himself such a prominent figure at Saints?

Are you sure his first name is Kim, and not Wim, which is a diminutive of Willem.

;google; Wim van der Waal and one such person shows up as a Financial Consultant, in The Hague.

(Wotte was involved with football clubs in The Hague in the early '90's)

A tenuous connection, perhaps!

Interesting, there is a photo of him on the page as well http://www.linkedin.com/pub/a/365/554

I wasn't really paying attention, but these comments about Kim this and Wilde that I thought perhaps we'd brought in the 80's pop-star turned TV gardener as our director of football. It seemed to follow a certain logic......

To save me reading through all 300-odd posts, please could someone summarize what this thread is about please?

Yep simple

It's about a bloke who seems to have a bar who is definitely Eastern European in appearance and comes from Peru or Colombia who is named after a part of Belgium that wants independence but seems to be Dutch oh, he is someone who doesn't have any distinguishing earlobes who had an article in a Dutch football magazine that we had translated saying that he is in fact the Chairman, Manager, Head Scout and of course Head of Catering.

Oh he is not liked, his name doesn't exist on the internet and of course he is not listed as an employee of SLH but he does seem to play football with the lads when they turn up for passing practice (Apparently it is too gentle to be called training)

Found out some more about this guy

1. Sometimes travels with the team and is always with Wotte or Lowe if he is there

2. He was brought in by the chairman and looks like he is ruperts eyes and ears

3. Was asked to Leave / move from the board Room at Selhurst Park as was sat at Simon Jordans table

4. He is always in a suit

5. He seems to be around a lot more in recent weeks than he was at first

6. Always watching and taking in everything

7. It is beleived neither Jan or Mark knew him before they / he came.

8. He has been around from day 1 of the dutch regime.

When the plc chairman is part-time, the football club chairman is a tax exile, the other plc execs are the non-exec Cowan and the dubious Jones - "Mr Continuity" - I suppose this makes sense

If there wasn't something odd going on then why is it such a big secret?

PS - I understand the need for sensitivity but can you confirm if your source is a "neutral" (ie. playing staff, other club staff) or a "interested party" (ie. McMenemy, Crouch, Merrington etc)?

Precisely.

The OS is first to shout any 'positive news' recruitment from the rooftops. Yet this apparently pivotal figure in the running of SFC this season somehow doesn't register on the communication radar.

Boardroom ignorance or arrogance?

$64,000 anyone?

Wow that is exactlly the figure needed to release funds from my account in Nigeria. Please send this directly from your personal account (my details sent by usual method) I will then undertake to return your $64,000 with a 30% share of the US$476,971,453.29 that has been illegally siezed in that country

Is your name Barry per chance? :)

This story is intriguing. It's either the biggest non story since LLS / St David times (is he still around?) or it's the biggest example yet of the disdain that Lowe feels for fans, in not declaring the guy's role at the club. Presumably if he is on the pay-roll SLH shareholder should have the right to know he's here?

Perhaps they will unveil him at the press conference on Monday as cant think what the press conference is going to be for as we already know that Wotte is manager, MS is on the coaching staff and JP has gone.

I also think this guy was with RL at the pre-season match against Winchester, anyone remember seeing him with RL.

I think it may have been Farnborough

No I didnt go to Farnborough and remember speaking to RL at Winchester and he was with his sons and a dutch guy who was not Wotte or JP, I saw a friend tonight who reminded me of this. I am not saying it was Kim v.d. Waals but could have been.

I was just going to post that request up to see if you would be kind enough to do the honours.

Does this name mean anything to you or any of your Ducth colleagues???

Aparently he is a regular at matches, Staplewood and St Mary's, but he has never officially been introduced to people.

Someone thinks he was also present at the Osborne Pub Q & A night, but not had that confirmed. The snippet I got was that he was Lowe's footballing advisor and has a say on all the major footballing decisions.

Not sure exacty what that means, or how it relates to Jan and the decision making process, so maybe someone with an in to the Club can get this clarified.

Apparently, this is him.

This is the guy i told you all about last year that i met at Southampton airport waiting for LOWE and PORTALOO.

If you remember i said at the time this guy was in negotiations with LOWE to bring PORTALOO to SMS and that was 3/4 months before LOWE himself returned.

What was he like?

He had clearly known LOWE for quite some time and spoke about an attempt LOWE had previously made to get in a Dutch manager that had had not come to fruition.....think this was prior to Strachan although i stand to be corrected.

He was a very agitated man on this occasion but mainly because PORTALLO's flight had been delayed and they were going to miss the match(it was a home game on a Saturday)

He clearly new what he was talking about as everything he told me came to fruition about 5 months later.

From what I have been told I think the reason he was agitated was nothing to do with a delayed flight!!!!!!;)

Anything else you know about him, origins, motivation, history?????

He seems to be playing a big part in the current set up yet no one knows anything about him.

PS can you remember what game that was before??

Someone should ask Lowe at tomorrow's conference who he is anyway.

Yes lets hope someone does maybe someone from the Echo or Radio Solent/Hampshire could do so. What time is the PC tomorrow?

Yes you do but WHY thats the thing that is bugging me why is everyone so scared of finding out who this guy is and what his role is, I dont think it is unreasonable to ask that question. Anyone would think he is a mafia hit man.

When Mark Wotte and Cees Lok were first mentioned as managers/coaches ala Woodward contacts etc...Somewhere there is a Jeroen Wotte (relation of Mark??) a Uefa fifa registered agent in Enschede re FC Twente. Mark Wotte was born and raised in Enschede. Suggested always sits/moves with Wotte and JP as agent adviser (Ruperts?) Very much up in the air...Still unable to see anything on Van Der Waals, very strange....still digging....How come Echo or club never mentioning this strange man.

Another long shot is the gambling/casino (always points to me to drugs and shady slags) at Helmond and the JP connection?

Correct me if I am wrong the original Lowe move to Dutch group was Woodward and the direction of Cees Lok..Wotte..Frustrated and curious.

Wotte was recommended by Steve Wigley who met him when he was working with the England U21s and Wotte was in charge of the Netherlands U21s

What have you been told (the gist will do to protect your source etc..!)

p.s. can't work out why the previous game would be significant? I think it was March 08 that Barcelona Saint saw him in the airport. I'd of course look it up if someone hadn't ordered the destruction of all TSF posts. ;) (that last bit is tongue-in-cheek BTW....)

I dont think it is significant .

The guy at the game at Farnborough was thought to be a possible investor.

But Barcelona said it was the guy he saw at the airport and was involved in putting the deal together to bring JP and Wotte to SFC so crushing another takeover rumour

He could always be an agent for football managers AND an investor. It's already posted that he was consulting for Vodaphone so it sounds like he's the type of character to have more multiple irons in the fire....

Must be orchestrating PR for Rupert and Mikey Lucan then...

What a fine job he is doing as well...

A picture of that bloke was posted on here at a pre-season game, He was talking with Lowe, Jan and I think Wotte, I remember someone saying that Jan looked uncomfortable. Tried to find the pic using the search, but no luck.
