Saint Martini Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 No news to report from my further investigations. The writer has not responded to my email. We still don't know who Van Der Waals is, and even if he were Belgian or Afrikaans (unlikely, as those accents are very recognizable and thick, even in Dutch, and it would have been mentioned in the article) there still remains the fact that he does not have a single Google reference anywhere. In the article it actually says the guy is Dutch.

Quite! He seems to be a ghost! I have searched all area's of the web in Belgium, Holland and South Africa and found bugger all other than the FORCE OF VAN DER WAALS

Alright Dave Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 In the article it actually says the guy is Dutch. Fair enough, just weird he seems to be an unknown in any kind of business let alone Football!!! Only Rupes could ****ing do this!!!
trousers Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 If only Barcelona Saint wasn't being kept hostage. Anyone heard what ransom they're asking for? Enough to pay off the stadium debt perhaps? Hmmm...I think I may have inadvertently stumbled across a theory....
buctootim Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 Guys. You do realise aspiring journos looking to sell a story sometimes make things up? Even whole people it seems.
offix Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 In the article it actually says the guy is Dutch. Right, I forgot that he refers somewhere to a "light Amsterdam" accent?
trousers Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 Accept Wallonia is the French speaking part in the south of Belgium and Vlaanderen being the Flemish (Dutch) speaking northern part of Belgium So why would an alleged Dutch football guru be named after the wrong part of Belgium? Answer me that one. Oh how I sometimes yearn for a return to the days when I used to refill Marc Jackson's toner pouch
offix Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 Guys. You do realise aspiring journos looking to sell a story sometimes make things up? Even whole people it seems. I really hope you're joking. if not, seek help.

charliemiller Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 He isnt dutch he is Bulgarian .........wrong man guys
buctootim Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 I really hope you're joking. if not, seek help. Lol. You've got five pages of posts, one picture of man who happened to be in the directors box and no google results in the hunt for Rupies Guru. Maybe you should send a plane up with a banner asking for sightings.
trousers Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 (edited) He isnt dutch he is Bulgarian .........wrong man guys Got him... Looks like the same chap that was sitting next to our substitutes at Farnborough. It's a wrap. Nice work guys. Knew we'd nail this one eventually. Edited 22 January, 2009 by trousers
Scudamore Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 It's a wrap. Nice work guys. Knew we'd nail this one eventually. You've nailed Father Christmas? Is it safe to say then that Rupert Lowe's advisor is in actual fact Ken Bates?
Channon's Sideburns Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 He isnt dutch he is Bulgarian .........wrong man guys So the Dutch Footie Article is wrong as well then?? Yeah right...
SaintRobbie Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 Did anyone ring SMS and ask to speak to him?
ladysaint Posted 22 January, 2009 Author Posted 22 January, 2009 At least now some information comes up when you do a google search, albeit only to this site.
Saint Martini Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 Right, I forgot that he refers somewhere to a "light Amsterdam" accent? I wasn't even refering to that. Somewhere it says: "De Nederlander van der Waal" (or something along those lines).
lordswoodsaints Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 Are we sure that is how his name is spelt (both forename and surname)? Kim or Tim (as was hinted at the other day) Van Der Waals or Van de Waals or Van Der Walles or Vandewalles? my dad said he introduced himself as tim but the old fella is a bit hard of hearing these days so it could have been kim??
Saint Martini Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 Kim is a very very strange firstname for a guy in Dutch (i.e. its a girlsname). But I so far I don't think that is the only strange thing about him.
supaimpy_returns Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 well surely someone on here is young enough to know the players on a social level, why not just ask them, surely they'd confirm or deny the existence of this guy and explain some of the orders they are receiving
offix Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 well surely someone on here is young enough to know the players on a social level, why not just ask them, surely they'd confirm or deny the existence of this guy and explain some of the orders they are receiving The question is not IF he exists. We know he does, from the article. The questions are; - where did he come from - what is his experience - what is his function - why does he seem to have all this power - what are we paying him
ottery st mary Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 This man is the Banks enforcer and will take their money back by whatever means. He does not rate the players and therefore will take a few fans in lieu of cash if it comes to it. Most on this forum will be safe..He will only take good looking fans to trade in the Far East.
offix Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 He could be a shrink or an interpreter. Read the translation of the article: He participates in the training and coaches meetings, tells JP that he can't do interviews, claims to have designed the strategies together with Ru**rt! Hardly an shrink or interpreter

Ha so senior members of this forum are safe then
ottery st mary Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 Ha so senior members of this forum are safe then If some of the other transfers/loans are an example...This man is a star centre forward who is unfit, injured or not good enough. He will be on good wages until someone realises we have been suckered. Then again he might be Rupeys intrepeter, because no one can understand JP at the training ground.

You forgot a couple of others Rupert's minder Fulthorpe's money man The owner of a foreign football club meanwhile if he IS taking fans to the Far East can we send him Scooby, SB's and some other contact details???
Scudamore Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 Ha so senior members of this forum are safe then Ha so...me so solly...
dubai_phil Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 GOT IT! Of course how stupid - he IS JP & Wotte's agent - they signed their contracts back in May... He's here to get them a Cost of Living Pay Rise they came from Holland where they were paid in Euros So not only has JP done a "fantastic job" Rupert, but because the Pound has crashed and they are now earning 30%ish LESS than when they started... That explains the whole meeting thing as well Well Rupsh, the boysh are shuffering great hardshipshz and shey need to shee their familiesh more often and becuashe of the poundsh to Euroshz they needsh more doshshzsh
SaintRobbie Posted 23 January, 2009 Posted 23 January, 2009 I wonder if Kim was with Lowe when he had the 30 minute meeting with JP and the players that resulted in JP 'doubling his efforts'? Think he's Lowe's bully-boy?
eelpie Posted 23 January, 2009 Posted 23 January, 2009 GOT IT! Of course how stupid - he IS JP & Wotte's agent - they signed their contracts back in May... /QUOTE] Doesn't explain what right he had to be present when JP and Wotte met the fans.
trousers Posted 23 January, 2009 Posted 23 January, 2009 So...another thread that drifts to no conclusion. Great.
offix Posted 23 January, 2009 Posted 23 January, 2009 Wrong Trousers, there IS a conclusion. Actually there are multiple conclusions we cab draw: 1. Ru**rt has an advisor that he has kept hidden from the world 2. This advisor is heavily involved in setting football policy 3. This advisor irritates many people on the coaching staff, but they're afraid of acting against him 4. This advisor has as much experience doing DoF stuff as Ali Dia did playing 5. Nobody in the club has made it clear what/how this advisor gets paid

Juts because the bugger can't be found with a Google search doesn't mean he hasn't got any experience. He might have had to change his name and looks due to some WPP!!

Seems a bit fundamental to the success of the club if you ask me and yet only a few people on here seem to have recognised as such. Doesn't add up....
Big Bad Bob Posted 23 January, 2009 Posted 23 January, 2009 Nope, I have a job and a life So do I, currently though, this thread is more entertaining than my job!!
Big Bad Bob Posted 23 January, 2009 Posted 23 January, 2009 Nope, I have a job and a life Wow, just noticed your low post count......do you work in PR by any chance

Juts because the bugger can't be found with a Google search doesn't mean he hasn't got any experience. He might have had to change his name and looks due to some WPP!! Agreed, Ali Dia clearly had more experience playing football than this guy has as a Director of Football, that was a bit of an insult to Ali (where is he now that his club needs him?). Do you really think that someone experienced as a DoF in any sort of professional football league around the world would not show up in extensive google searches. The google world is far reaching and deep, it is almost impossible to escape its clutches.

TheSaint75 Posted 23 January, 2009 Posted 23 January, 2009 Why are we assuming this guy has any relevance to football, if he, as said above doesn't show up on any google search? It is more likely that he is a PR/business/henchman type of consultant....in which case he should be answering these questions himself on here soon, as he appears to be so full of himself we should just start making up a load of BS about him and he'll eventually feel the need to defend himself? :smt039
