I think our downfall in recent years can certainly be put down to the fact that my lucky Premier League pants eventually fell apart and had to be binned...

 

Anyone else care to share their lucky charms or pre match routines that bring us luck?

 

As i'm not sure any are working at the moment...

No...it's all MY fault. I am the lucky mascot. I left Southampton and the UK in Nov 2003 6 months after the Cup Final, and when we were in the top half of the Premier League and I moved to Australia. My change of fortune and good luck in the past 5 years has been the direct opposite of Saints fortune. I'm a bit busy until the end of March, but if you lot would like to club together to pay my wages over here and buy me a return ticket to the UK, I am more than happy to come back for the last 6 weeks of the season to see us gain maximum points, make up the 10 point deduction we will be getting shortly, and finish 4th from bottom and escape relegation. About $15,000 Australian should about cover it (I don't mind travelling economy).....so who's going to get the hat out for a whip round? I'll even buy my own tickets to the games....

Hasnt worked at all this season, in fact on the days when Ive gone "Oh ****, whats the use" and used a different mug and bowl, we have won...hmmm....

Sorry chaps....I have to hold my hands up to this. Owing to a change in my shift system, I had to give up my season ticket three years ago, it has been all downhill since.

I haven't seen us lose a game since we lost 4-1 at Fratton.

 

In fact we have won every game I have seen since then.

 

That's why I don't understand all the moaning on here every week, I think we are brilliant.

Since Los Marinos closed down, I have never really found anywhere so enjoyable to have a few pre match beers, since then it has been all down hill!

Back in the day, when I was part of the infamous "painted cow" (if anyone even remembers them now? ) we used to walk up and down our "sacred" hill that brought us good luck at home games. This was in the season that we went unbeaten at home 'til halfway theough January (vs Liverpool). We eventually stopped doing the ritual due to lazyness.

I haven't seen us win since we were relegated. I've seen a few draws but mostly it's been defeats. I have stopped going, in an attempt to revitalise our fortunes, but it doesn't appear to be working.

I've been rubbing my 'lucky keyring' all season but somehow nothing happens. I sometimes think that it's the players' fault for not looking up at us to see if we're wearing our lucky scarf / lucky underpants / lucky chairman / lucky you-name-it.
