DuncanRG Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 The centre halves were excellent there. Constant pressure but not that many chances.
Manuel Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Over the 2 games: Saints lose first half, draw the second, win the third. Momentum swinging in our direction!
cloggy saint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 A very good backs to the wall performance so far. It's highly unlikely it will stay 0-1 but a bit of pride has been restored.
Sheaf Saint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Well now, if someone had told me an hour ago that we would keep them out and be in the lead at HT, I would have told them to seek medical help. It's a funny old game.
Ohio Saint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Redmond has showed more deliberation when holding the ball, kept them guessing more
HarvSFC Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 **** me, what a half. 45 minutes to go lads. The defence hasn't put a foot wrong. Vestergaard winning everything in the air. Must only turn up against the Manchester clubs.
vectraman Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Unexpected but brilliant effort Saints. Great stuff, against all odds. Same again second half please
Baird of the land Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Eating my hat. Some very good intensity. Jwp lovely gambling on 2nd ball. Still don’t like how much time we are giving them on their left to get balls in. Still expect city to win but at least we are making them work for it and giving them issues on the break.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 The response we have craved, some pride being restored
tisspahars Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 HT prices on Betfair.........4/9 Man City 10/3 Draw 7/1 Saints.
Ohio Saint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Can we play away every week? Well, we certainly can't play at home.
St Marco Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Great defending first half. Romeu been a beast
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Great stuff. Surely game is crying out for Djenepo at some point? Need a bit more of an outlet. That said- Redmond and Ings both working hard.
ButtikonSaint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Hard working, concentration, guts... Come boys
VectisSaint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Really good stuff defensively. Except for Hojberg. 10 yards away from his man every time and telling other people to mark. and booked
DuncanRG Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Great stuff. Surely game is crying out for Djenepo at some point? Need a bit more of an outlet. That said- Redmond and Ings both working hard. Wouldn't rush him on because Redmond is doing good work relieving the pressure. Maybe if we go behind or late on if one of them's tiring.
NewYorkSaint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Armstrong is under-rated here. His runs are often really imaginative. Think he brings a good dimension. Wish Redmond was better w his decision making. He gets into incredible positions, but rarely finds the incisive final pass. JWP. He's showed his value today. not just the goal, but his constant industry. He reads the game well and is often the cause of our winning back possession. Valery has been fantastic today. And you could imagine that Stephens and Vest are actually quite good! Ah... it's the hope that kills you.
sydney_saint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Credit to the lads, they are absolutely fighting for one another and the club out there. It needs every single one of them to put in a shift to get anything here, and even if the talent isn't there, the effort is. I think we are all expecting City to eventually break through and win but they are having to fight. What was really noticeable was how aware they are of the City players movement. Unless you are a tank that fills half the pitch like Romeu, you aren't gonna get too many chances to get close enough to tackle. But they know which City players to get close to, and which ones to give a little bit more space which stifles their attacks. It's like a different team defensively.

del boy Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 I’ve triple captained Sterling in the FPL. Worth it so far :-) and me - easy points
Chez Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 what a difference getting a goal and something to hang on to make not only to the performance but to how we perceive the side. We have hardly got out of our own half, but when you are in front you can live with it. Want to see Redmond try to beat two or three on the break. He has it in him to score a wonder goal and seal an amazing win. COYR

Bananaman Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Armstrong a far superior midfielder to JWP and Hojberg.. should start ahead of them.
Baird of the land Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Really good stuff defensively. Except for Hojberg. 10 yards away from his man every time and telling other people to mark. Odd I thought hojberg’s been good out of position. Thought Valery has been standing off more.
Sheaf Saint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Can't understand for a moment why we wouldn't wear our first kit away at City. Is there some sort of superstition going on due to our woeful home form?
CB Fry Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Still feels like a standard issue noble defeat but let's see. Would be fantastic to get out with a point.
The Odd Guy Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Great determination so far. Like to see us surprise City by getting a early second half goal. If we win this and Aston Villa beat Liverpool Brendan Rodgers will be the winner...again.
DT Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Come on saints. Make my weekend Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ohio Saint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Whatever the end result, I'm much happier today
doddisalegend Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Still feels like a standard issue noble defeat but let's see. Would be fantastic to get out with a point. Most likely but at least it's a better performance than our last league game. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
cloggy saint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Strange to be typing this, but Vest has been immense so far.
VectisSaint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Strange to be typing this, but Vest has been immense so far. He's always immense, but usually useless.
sydney_saint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 We are being proper ****s with our timewasting. I love it.
doddisalegend Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Just can't see us holding on to this we need an out when we do get hold of the ball to take the pressure of the defence. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
John Boy Saint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Redmond believe in Yourself lad and just keep running away with it, stop dilly dallying
doddisalegend Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Man city fans booing really? **** me if I was a man city fan I can't ever imagine being that upset with how things are going. How did their fans every cope when the where ****? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
cloggy saint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Lee Mason is giving us nothing How can he give us anything when we've never got the ball?
Ohio Saint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Redmond believe in Yourself lad and just keep running away with it, stop dilly dallying He just cant win with the fans whatever he tries
sydney_saint Posted 2 November, 2019 Posted 2 November, 2019 Man city fans booing really? **** me if I was a man city fan I can't ever imagine being that upset with how things are going. How did their fans every cope when the where ****? Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk They supported United
