Another tough one tonight, to be fair they're all probably tough now.

Could give a clue to any youngsters in tomorrows squad.

We've been rubbish so far. Lost 6 games from 9.

Should give Obafemi a game. That lad seems to hardly play matches.

Probably injured (again). Shame as I also noticed N'Lundulu (who actually looks pretty good) is also injured.

Is Smallbone injured? Him and Slattery should be pretty good options in the middle for the u23s... Surprised Slattery hasnt been involved more in the first team squads this season (possibly something behind the scenes)?

whats the deal with all of our more promising academy players being extremely injury prone? all of obafemi, nlundulu, hesketh also smallbone cdjfu in the first team, but they all seem to spend more time injured than actually playing. is it an issue with our medical staff or something else?

obafemi for example is extremely fast, strong and has decent technical skill also is a good finisher, due to the combination of his diminutive stature, speed and strength, he could be a nightmare for defenders to mark and defend against. those attributes would be useful for ralph but he can't play one game before being sidelined for weeks afterwards.

same thing with nlundulu, he seems very strong, decent technique and finishing. also useful as a focal point for long balls from the defence. he's quite quick for a lad of his size as well. but, he had a major injury a while back then came back to go on a good run to the point of being tipped to make his debut, now he's injured.

just what is happening is what i don't get.

Shades of the first team it really is slow.

That really is an issue, watched the Liverpool v Arsenal game last night both teams peppered with nippers, I was puffed out just watching the pace was electric until just past the 85th minute.

Rather unfortunate ending with 2 goals in stoppage time, the first a breakaway after saints poured forward at a half chance to equalise.

Thought Saints played well with 10 men.

You do wonder about slattery. If that's his approach its not a surprise he's been nowhere near the first team.
