A stupid money-making idea imported from the States. You send your children around the neighbourhood, in the dark, demanding sweets from strangers.

If any of them come to our front door I open it whilst holding one of our lurchers, who tend to be very noisy and bouncy if someone comes to the door. I tell them that the treat is that I will give them a head start to get back out of our gate, the trick is that I may be lying.
