SaltashSaint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 Ralph deserves huge criticism for this line up, formation and approach. He seems intent on ****inng everybody off with his stubbornness of playing five at the back. I appreciate it's City away, but the only chance we had tonight was to try and stop them playing in midfield. Our current formation of 1-8-2 is an absolute joke and Hojbjerg at left back is a mickey take. We will be lucky if we come away with 10% of possession. Enough is enough now!
OttawaSaint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 When we actually get the ball there is no outlet at all. They just have to boot it long. Is this what it's come to?
Baird of the land Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 We don't seem to have any midfield. JWP is just a passenger, jogging round in circles, chasing shadows. To me it’s just the basics of not leaving their players all the time in the world on 5he edge of the box to pick out the perfect cross. They haven’t unlocked us by great play it’s our midfield stupidity
SW5 SAINT Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 There's 1,000+ up there, that's a decent number all things considered. I expect they had already bought their match and train tickets before Friday......
Saint Matty 76 Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 When we actually get the ball there is no outlet at all. They just have to boot it long. Is this what it's come to? This set-up is beyond embarrassing.
igsey Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 I know there's not much point comparing passing stats with City... but I'm going to anyway. We've made 40 passes (66% success rate). They've made 260 (94% success rate).
OttawaSaint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 WE DID IT!! Got into the attacking 3rd! Long cocked up his cross after a nice turn.
Saints foreva Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 Hoofhampton. When is Long's contract up?
OttawaSaint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 Lol. Boufal joined the defense there to give us 9 players back, fouls someone. Free kick, dangerous position.
alehouseboys Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 I expect they had already bought their match and train tickets before Friday...... They didn't have to travel. I'd have taken the financial hit tbh. I tip my hat to them.
Batman Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 What is all your views if Ralph’s lines the team up like this in our next 3 home games?
SaltashSaint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 If after the city games he's still play a back 5 and 3 defensive midfielders then people will turn on him and he'll deserve it. We won't turn it round with that much fear and negativity. Ings needs 2 from boufal/redmond/djenpo with him for those games. This 100%
DrunkenSaint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 We don't seem to have any midfield. JWP is just a passenger, jogging round in circles, chasing shadows. Thats all he's done in his whole career, only looked good in the early days as he had better players around him. I'm afraid that if Ralph keeps picking him and Romeu we are doomed, both are to slow, lack any creativity and cant bond any type of partnership in the midfield. Ralph also needs to stop playing so negative, we only have 2 fwd thinking guys on the pitch.
Baird of the land Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 Why won’t our players stay with their men when they haven’t got the ball!!!!!!!! The ball goes away and they wander back towards the box and suddenly man city give the ball back to the player they used to be marking.
davefoggy Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 This set-up is beyond embarrassing. I'm sorry, but Ralph hasn't got a clue
OttawaSaint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 Bravo could set up a deckchair and read a newspaper.
del boy Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 City will have had harder games against the cones on the training ground
Saint Billy Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 Romeu didnt even jump, woeful player. Ah, but you are forgetting that he runs about a lot and shows some passion which to some on here is all important, more important than the fact that he is feking hopeless.
ooh it's a corner Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 let's be clear, tonight was about not shipping 10 goals. A good Man City team may want to take the whip out to the league's whipping boys. Lose 3-0 and it is a recovery. shameful

doddisalegend Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 We just lost 9-0 anyone who thought we going to come to City and play open attacking football was, dare I say it, expecting to much. Teams who get stuffed inevitably try to become hard to beat first not become more open. It's even hard when you have four Central midfielders in the squad three of who are crap and one who is average. And squad with 5 CBs none of who are actually any good. I mean if we had quaility attack players we could go all out attack but errr well we don't have any good attacking players either. And there's 2... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
Edmonton Saint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 3 centre backs and Aguero is unmarked in the 6 yard box. I'm starting to detest everyone of these ****ing players.
Saints foreva Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 Pathetic. So much for a reaction. I can't wait for these spineless players to leave the football club.
OttawaSaint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 4 City versus 7 Saints. No-one tracked one of the greatest finishers in the history of the EPL. Predictable result...
del boy Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 You'd think they would know that Aguero shouldn't be left alone in the middle of the penalty area?
BotleySaint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 3 centre backs and Aguero is unmarked in the 6 yard box. I'm starting to detest everyone of these ****ing players.Doesn't matter how many we have at the back. Game after game none of them have the awareness to look around and track the man. They obviously don't practise it either. Noone takes responsibility and takes charge.
grezz Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 Glad the early payout has kicked in so my bet is protected.
Baird of the land Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 You'd think they would know that Aguero shouldn't be left alone in the middle of the penalty area? For me it’s the fact they had 3 players on the right and hojberg was the only guy trying to mark his man.
OttawaSaint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 It's basically a forwards vs defense training exercise. Clear to half way line, rinse and repeat. If they come out with a "5-0 was an improvement, we showed a reaction...blah blah" then they can **** off!
SaintZamboni Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 Why play 3 at the back if no one knows who they’re marking? Stevens and Danso have had words about that already this match.
Crab Lungs Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 We have such shockingly bad players that it doesn’t matter how much you try to organise them, they are so bad they just don’t get it. And then in front of an inept defence is worst midfield partnership of all time. The most flakey, false double act we’ve ever had. Zero protection, zero spine. Disgraceful set of bottlers that market themselves as all action, Premier league footballers
OttawaSaint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 At least give Mahrez and Aguero a good ****ing kicking hopefully make them doubtful for the weekend.
SaltashSaint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 if we can't stop them in midfield with a 1-8-2 formation, what chance will we have with a 433/4222/4231 this has been more of the same dogsh*te, half expected I suppose with that line up, but would it really have killed to play Redmond/Adams or Ings. 2-0 ffs Sorry that should have read 1(GK) 8 (DEF) 0 (MID) 2 (FOR). Killed us? At least we would have had a 1% chance. This approach gave us no chance whatsoever. We've been camped in and around our own box all half. It's 2-0 but it could easily been 5 or 6.
Baird of the land Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 Warming to the notion of sacking Ralph. Setting out a team with the objective of losing really is pathetic. Once again from a corner we let them pass the ball to the position they ideally want to cross from with no pressure.
trousers Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 At least give Mahrez and Aguero a good ****ing kicking hopefully make them doubtful for the weekend. What, and bugger up my Fantasy Football team...?
OttawaSaint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 It's like when your dog has been ****ting all over our furniture, you tell him off hoping to help him learn and then he ****s all over the carpet and looks at you as if to say "did I do good?".
BotleySaint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 Warming to the notion of sacking Ralph. Setting out a team with the objective of losing really is pathetic. If he can't raise their spirits even a little and come up with any sort of answers after a 9-0 defeat then he has to go. We can't just walk around with our tails between our legs until January....
sammysaint93 Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 The most one sided half of football I’ve ever watched. We have no outlet, can’t keep hold of the ball, can’t pass to each other, it’s all desperate. Long and Boufal might as well not be on the pitch...
davefoggy Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 If he can't raise their spirits even a little and come up with any sort of answers after a 9-0 defeat then he has to go. We can't just walk around with our tails between our legs until January.... I wanted to see a reaction. There is no reaction. None what so ever. Looks like they will be donating their wages again at this rate........
shirleysfc Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 Maybe we’ll give it a go second hal... actually, scrap that, not a hope in hell.
Pamplemousse Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 Dreadful tactics. Park the bus fine but not with our defence.
warsash saint Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 not ONE touch in their penalty box says it all!!
Saints foreva Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 This club really is a ****ing shambles at the moment. We have so many dog****e players who would struggle to make an impression in the league below and we are paying them very ****ing handsomely. There has been no fight tonight, exactly like Friday night. Spineless and disgraceful.
Bewildered Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 The Saints Foundation should be in for another windfall after that. Set up the team to avoid another cricket score, nothing else.
Pamplemousse Posted 29 October, 2019 Posted 29 October, 2019 Our team is just too soft. Need someone willing to put a few tackles in on them. Nobody wants to do so.
