Await the Mighty Semmens to announce "we can't compete with Forest Green, don't know why fans are so arrogant to think we can..."

"As the first carbon neutral Team, Forest Green are miles greener than us," said Ralph. "We have identified vertical, attacking passing as using a lot of energy. This is why we have adopted short, sideways passing across the midfield. Only then can we aspire to be like them." 🙂

Almost funny if it wasn’t so credible. My how we have sunk. Arrogant fans laughing at themselves? Surely not.

How do you know he didn't do exactly that? He mentioned multiple times we were getting someone in. He clearly thought we were and clearly thought it was needed. We didn't. We can blame Ralph for a lot, but not for being responsible for conducting transfer activity.

Wasn’t necessarily blaming him per se, as we know transfers are a complex transaction these days. What I do know is that I would not have let myself be put under scrutiny on Sky, MOTD by being left with Che Adams as my main and only source of goals, decent second striker though he is. If that meant pushing Semmens or Rasmus under the bus so be it for the wider good of the squad I managed and the club. Striker was the top department to get right, if they were only going for 3 or 4 targets it wasn’t enough. Needed to be a list of 15-20 of varying levels of ambition. We know from Gapko the budget was there too. To not secure any - Mara was at best an impact option this term and even Forest or Bournemouth would loan him straight out - was criminal.

Agree with this.

Unfortunately that seems the working of many clubs now. Frank gets the praise at Brentford, but their recruitment works well. Cooper has probably been dealt a poor hand by Forest’s scattergun approach.

Unless there is a change of emphasis from above, and a willingness to buy players outside the 18-22 range,  to improve the team immediately, any future manager will have the same problem.

I also suspect this is bollocks. Anyone else heard a rumour ? or possibly it’s one only heard in Saints Mike’s head.

If true at all, I hope “identified” means someone we’ve spoken to and will come. Not just someone we’d like to have.

Fear is we’ll have ‘identified’ Frank/Poch/Tuchel  and be like a kid in a sweet shop pointing at the expensive items but in truth can only afford  a Milky Bar.

It's perfectly plausible that Ralph might get sacked by the end of the month.

Which is what divs running accounts like that want so they can go full "I told you I told you I told you".

We've already had a spate of "I've heard he goes on Tuesday" on here for a few weeks in a row last month. If you keep predicting it eventually you'll be right. The Villa twitter feeds were exactly that with Gerrard for about six weeks.

The idea that he is already sacked and replaced but the club are just letting him be the manager now for old times sake is absolute nonsense.

Yeah there’s a few Twitter accounts that “confirmed” Svanberg and Delap for example were due to be announced by 5pm that day. I think we’re still waiting 😂

Anything for a bit of attention, eh?

Talking of Ralph and Semmens, as someone said above I think of one of them goes they both will. And then KA will take a more hands on role in terms of transfers etc.

If SR we’re going to make changes I imagine they’ll do it during the World Cup break; because let’s face it, not many of our players will be going to Qatar, which would give a new manager four or so weeks of hard training. I imagine they’ll be a few behind closed doors friendlies too.

To be fair, even 'Saint Mike' thinks it might be bollocks!

Who is this Bollocks? Is he any good, can’t say I’ve heard of him. He’s going to suffer with name like that, probably means something different where he comes from.

Where did that story come from? I recall Miami being mentioned?

Just seems a waste really, shipping a load of average players to a warmer climate for a week doesn’t strike me as a productive use of time. Maybe I’m just old..!

I don’t recall where it came from, but I agree they don’t deserve a treat

We need to rise above that and be more saintly.  Poor guy is still traumatised from his school days having lived with that name.

He says it's Marcelo Gallardo, which pretty much confirms it's bollocks.

One of the most highly rated young managers in the game - he'll start his European career in Spain or France (where he played for Monaco and PSG), I suspect.

Most glamorous league in the world, the highest paying league in the world, use us as a stepping stone club to one of the big boys.

Work with you exciting young players, live on the english rivera but close to london whats not to love.

I remember this featured on 'They Think It's All Over' years ago.

Nick Hancock saying that 'John Toshak means bollocks in Turkish. Whereas Graeme Souness means shit manager in any language'.

Someone reported that Blackmore had mentioned this chap’s name in a Solent piece a week or so back. I can’t find the post but am sure somebody can.

Yes it was me that posted it after Arsenal game match thread.

It was odd as he mentioned 3 times about Ralph leaving in November. He said he had no info but was doing some research as to who is out there and came up with the River Plate manager .

What an excellent article. They are correct to say the fans have been very patient despite what some try to claim on here.

Too patient and herein lies the problem till they hear more fan discontent nothing will probably change

I’m not certain fan discontent will be a major factor for those running the club. Nor do I think it should be.
The owners have a multi million pound asset to protect, I’m fairly certain that is incentive enough.

Seemed like needless speculation with the aim of stimulating discussion rather than anything else. It was definitely odd and I think he could have worded it better. He did try to make it apparent that he didn't know anything, but by naming Gallardo specifically I think he created a bit of unintentional innuendo.

Yes a very fair article. I don't think there is a right or wrong in this. It's only right to sack Ralph if his successor does better and we've had plenty of bad ones. We once had a manager who in his first 4 seasons finished 20th in the top league then 13th,  6th and 9th in the second division and we kept him for 12 seasons. Mad, bonkers , how could you ever get high up in the top league like that. Well he did. His name was Lawrie something.

I know times have changed and I'm not suggesting Ralph stays that long, just illustrating the point that whatever you do is a gamble

I was just imagining Ralph telling some of the personalities in Lawrie's teams all about Automatisms 🙂

I mean the amount of people that have speculated, including me, that he’ll be going during the international break isn’t implausible.

But it is a great time if you want to make a Twitter account claiming to be ITK if it comes off… 🙄

Where has the Sean Dyche rumour come from?
