Strange how everyone we play has been, “sh*te,” and we get zero credit for making the look bad. Villa have a bunch of £30m players, double what we’ve spent on any of our team, but we should just beat them because you said so?

It isn’t us that’s made them look bad, it’s the rest of the fucking teams they’ve played. We’ve actually made Villa & Wolves look ok. Leicester have just taken another dicking, Chelsea sacked their manager & Utd got done by Brighton & Brentford. Your noddy mentality is what’s wrong with a number of our supporters.

You keep claiming we had a tough start, we didn’t. 7 games and we’ve faced one decent side. If those 7 games included City, Liverpool, Arsenal, you’d have a point. But they didn’t, and you don’t. We have made a poor start considering the fixtures we’ve had. If you’ve got to play 3 of the big clubs, you’d pick Chelsea & Utd at the moment. You’d want Leicester every day of the week this season, & Wolves and Villa have made awful starts.

So because we’ve spent £70m we really should be expecting to beat the likes of Man United and Chelsea?

Results like Villa and Wolves happen, they were away games against competent opponents, which could have gone either way. The time to start losing sleep is when you go to Bournemouth or Fulham and are 3-0 down at half time.

We’re approaching a full calendar year of woeful performances. Based on last night, we are regressing if anything.

I think people need to accept that 7 points from those 7 fixtures is about a par score for Saints. We look better than last year overall, but £70m isn’t going to turn that team into world beaters.

Dell-sized mentality

Villa and Wolves competant? They both look absolutely terrible this season.

Very difficult to excuse last night. And the simple reality is that it continues a theme, and we are losing without any quality or fight to poor teams. I thought the new coaches might have made a difference but if the person at the top is still not leading well, making good decisions and motivating, then a change is probably the best course of action.

The final straw for me?

Seeing the Delapesque long throw-ins make a most unwelcome, groan-inducing return. They never worked when Delap did them, and they don't work now. They slow the game down horribly and are so easy to defend. The hallmark of a regime that has run out of ideas and steam.

Ralph will not walk as he needs the payoff, The club need to sack him Tuesday and I’m pretty sure they will and should have a plan in place if they do.

I doubt they will pay him off and poach another club by paying compensation as it would cost in the region of 15m to replace Ralph.

So who’s out there ready to step in?!?

Get Frank in from Brentford and pay him the wage RH gets. Will be enough to get him I'm.

7m pay off Ralph

2m compensation Brentford

7m Frank

16m in total and there goes our strikers fee for January.

No can’t see it as that’s throwing money away!

Spend money on a striker in January, keep same manager and still he'll still get us relegated.

Yeah I can see it now, we sign a striker for £30m but doesn’t play him for 10 Games as he doesn’t know our system but then proceeds to play an 11 year old on loan from Chelsea in his first game.

I know what you are saying bud and this is why I think they will sack Ralph and get his number 2 to step in as I honestly can’t see anyone making a bigger mess than Ralph with the squad we have.

Why would the cheap option get your vote?

Selles has made a difference since we’ve shuffled things around and I like wot I see from him .

Paying off Ralph Would eat a sizeable chunk of funds available for a striker in January if we have 30m to spend.

pay off Ralph wen we lose or draw with Everton .. let Selles take the reigns and Would be a lot cheaper than paying a club compensation to release a manager if we decided to go that way ..

last available post so can’t discuss further with ya cos I’m to tight to pay the £5

Objectively you're wrong, we scored against Leicester from one of the throw ins.

Indeed.

Since it was explained that the reason we utilise them is because we tend to win the second ball, I've watched carefully and it seems to be true. Very rarely do the oppo manage to clear it properly first time.

The problem is that a) it leaves Salisu badly out of position if we do give it away and b) we don't have anybody on the pitch who has the slightest idea what to do with the second ball once we've won it.

Why would Frank come here? He's got a better squad at Brentford. Arrogant to assume that he'd come running if we click our fingers.

I would be surprised if paying off Ralph would cost £7m.

If he's got the thick end of 2 years left on his deal and he's earning £70k PW, that's £7m. Rumours are that he's on more than that though, so it'll be more than £7m.

Like he got us relegated last season, and the season before that too if I remember correctly. Wring your sheets out, we'll be fine again.

So you know the finer details in his contract, specifically pay-off clauses.

Nope, but most football contracts are fixed term so have to be fully paid up if cancelled by the club. There's no reason to believe Ralph's contract is anything other than standard.

I would think that manager's contracts have a sacking clause in them.  It would be ridiculous otherwise.  Manager signs a contract, doesn't fancy the work so does everything ha can to produce a crap under-performing team so he can get his wages whilst sitting on a beach somewhere.

I suppose it would explain our clueless manager, his tactics and selections.

"If I pick Moi every week and play everyone else out of position I can have the next 2 years off with full pay".
