Can’t disagree with this, at this point in time.

The summer recruitment policy seemed to largely revolve around getting in the Man City recruitment manager and buying a bunch of nippers from Man City that he knew. As it’s looking so far our best signings this season are Billy Ketchup and Joe Aribo, who perhaps didn’t come from a Joe Shields recommendation. We also fucked up not bringing in a striker that the club, the manager and the fans all said we needed.

Also, we spent a lot this summer, but from what I’ve read over the past year or two, that money has been sat in our account since a Covid load undertaken when Gao was in charge. So, have SR actually put up any money themselves?

Far too early to pontificate on the merits or otherwise of SR, but let’s just say that the jury is out.

Agree with this. For me, getting rid of Semmens and Ralph and then signing a striker in the January window would be a serious statement. Yes it's a lot of change but then again it's needed. Whether this happens is yet to be seen...

Would be a shame for his time here to end like that but can see it happening,  we had sacked in the morning chants Leeds at home and it will get worse

Last 3 away games combined

0 goals

2 shots on target

Got to be time up surely

I just don't see how a change to any manger is going to turn che, Armstrong etc into goal machines.

SR dropped a huge bollock not getting a goal scorer, that's on them.

I just don't see where goals can regularly come from in our team.

Could be worse we could be wolves who've only scored 3, of course 1 v us.

But it's clearly far more than just a lack of a striker although I'm sure we all agree one was needed in the last window. We now play with no shape and no clear idea of what our style is, what we are trying to achieve and how we are going about it.  It surely cannot be allowed to continue. Bournemouth sacked Parker after one humiliating 9-0 and look better for the change. A change in manager is now a must.

When Ralph departs the club, will anyone make a wish, rattle a bucket and/or say a prayer for Adam Blackmore.

I am certain not having Ralph around will hit him hard!

It’s really sad because it feels it’s gone on longer than it should. You just feel like we have lost our identity as a club. Team needing to gel, team performances so poor and looking lost, rumours of player and manager fallouts, club making poor decisions on how they deal with issues in stadium whether right or wrong, paying below living wage etc etc the list goes on. Something drastic needs to happen to start a new positive direction and era.. it’s not going to be easy and without further fallout but goodness we need to start the new journey now

He should have gone in the summer - given the new manager pre-season to work out what to do with all the new players.  Hopefully the rumours about Monday are true/

Fingers crossed. We absolute cannot keep going into these games where we are likely to get at least a point and coming away with a loss. Today was a foregone conclusion, but Villa away, Wolves away and Everton at home should have seen us come away with at least 3 points, we got none.

With West Ham and Bournemouth on the horizon, again 2 games where we could come away with something, if Ralph remains in charge I can only see another 0 points. These are the games that will cost us come the end of the season.

This season would be ideal to replace a manager during the world cup break - but there are seven (?) League matches before then. We could be in serious doo-doo by then. The time is now.

Well the only “report” I’ve seen is this. So as things stand - bullshit. 😂

Can't see any reports anywhere.

Either way it is basically an exact copy of what was being said this time last week. It doesn't take much to say "I've heard reports he's going this week" over and over again. Eventually you'll be correct.

No, he deserves more respect from that.

When he came over to the away fans, the majority applauded him but I was disappointed to here a few boos. He doesn't deserve that, he's not a bad person, he cares about the club and he is doing his best, have some respect.

IpNobody thinks he’s a bad person. The ticket-paying fans have two options: don’t pay for your ticket, or register your discontent. Both are fair game, nobody is forced to clap along like a noddy at a game If the performance is utterly shit.

Ralph has had plenty of respect from the fans. You sound like a Semmens, blaming the fans for shit performances.

3 points off the bottom of the table with 3 performances in a row that suggest we deserve to be where are.

If the owners haven’t spent all week getting a manager in place ready for Monday they deserve for their investment to lose money when we go down.

I havn't cared to look at the 'highlights.' Have no desire to, this is what the last two years under Ralph has done. I've stopped caring. So much worse then being annoyed.

He has to go.

The wrong side of 40, was a season ticket holder in the Premier League, Championship, League 1 and then back in the Premier League. The Premier League isn't the bee all end all its made out to be. Some of my best memories are across all the leagues. You either choose to be in it for the long haul and take the dips or you'll end being miserable. Anyone who says that losing ruins their weekend needs to get a grip.

A big couple of weeks coming for SR, are they ruthless as some say or just bunch of chancers, pretty piss poor so far, talked the talk but Ralph shouldve gone in the summer, seem to be more interested in being clever with there signings which will count for jack shit if we get relegated

Posted

Would seem unlikely that a loss to City will trigger the sacking. Unless it’s merely coincidental and the replacement set up has taken till now to be waiting in the wings.

Posted

Bad starts to the season seem to be a bit of a theme under Ralph. The 7pts in 9 games this season is bad and last season (2021-22) we only had 8pts in the first 9 and in his first full season here (2019-20) we also only had 8pts in the first 9 games (2020-21 season is the sole exception so far where we got an eye watering 17pts in the first 9).

That 2019-20 season actually ended up potentially even worse as we only had 9 points after 13 games. That was the same season that Ings got 22 goals (1 goal off the golden boot) and we finished 11th so it’s not like having a good striker made a difference in those early games, but I guess it also shows that it is possible to turn it around should our forwards hit form (though current performances seem to suggest that is unlikely).

I always thought it was a bit of a shame we didn’t finish top half that season considering we had the leagues second highest scorer. We ended up finishing below a Sean Dyche led Burnley team with Chris Wood as a top scorer and a Sheffield United team whos top scorer only got 6 league goals so the competition wasn't exactly super strong. Something to think about when assuming another striker could solve all our problems.

This is it for me

look at how we played when Ralph started, there was a purpose to the way we lined up, and the way we moved on the field, both with and without the ball.

now there are just 11 people on the field

this is absolutely nothing to do with who we have or haven’t signed on what positions. This is solely the set up of the players and what they are taking from the manager

this cannot continue

Not yet no, guess we're committed to him for the big week ahead. Needs to get 6 points I reckon... Should be interesting given we have no cdm and don't look remotely like scoring.... 😅

What I don’t get is we played okay against Everton but he made 4 changes to the City game, No stability!

It was purely a containing job with no ambition to try and get a goal.

Seriously one touch in the City box in 90 minutes is truly shit and I feel for every fan that went in support of the team.

Hoping he’s sacked today so the new man can start first thing Monday and get the players ready for two winnable games out of the next three matches.

RALPH IMHO will lose those two and probably get a draw if we’re lucky.

I can’t wait to see our midfield against West Ham, 4 disconnected, slow midgets who appear to completely have lost interest in Ralphie Ball. Should be fun.

So last week he broke up the one thing that was ok BK/Salisu for Caleta dropped Diallo for AMN. This week drops AMN for Diallo and CC for Salisu.

Next week is it JWP andBK turn to be dropped?

Selection by raffle?

If SR allow Ralph to continue any longer, I would suspect they have put massive wagers on us getting relegated.

I do think though, that we won’t have Ralph for any more games. I admire loyalty from SR, but Ralph has well and truly run out of credit.

Ralph will still be in charge next week. I reckon he'll still be here by the time players leave for the World Cup.

IMO if we'd have played our strongest team against Everton (at least the strongest we could have put out or who have played the most) we'd have got at least a point. He drops Salisu for DCC (fine to a point but Salisu hadn't done much wrong lately), Diallo for AMN (who he's already said recently 'isn't ready'), and AArmstrong (who has played OK on the left this season) for Mara. That's why Ralph needs to go, his odd selections, his constant changing of formations, his not knowing who his best XI is. Then yesterday I'm surprised that he doesn't start 3 CBs, a position in which I think we have the most quality in the team at the moment, against a rampant City side.

If we don't hear an announcement that he's gone today or tomorrow then I fear for the future. How nice would a new arrival be with a fresh perspective and a chance to bring a bit of positivity and good feeling to a club with largely depressed supporters, especially those that have to pay to watch largely pathetic football every week. Imagine St Mary's against West Ham, the crowd buzzing with a new managerial arrival.

Thanks Ralph, and Good Luck for the future.

Here's hoping.

The players look so dejected. Watched the highlights and there is no one who wants to take the game by the scruff of the neck and fight back. It's just heads down and back to the half way line.
