Saint Matty 76 Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Think we look alright here. Would much prefer Boufal on for Ward-Prowse who I still feel offers nothing but can't complain too much at the minute.
Sheaf Saint Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Gah! Redmond waited way too long. Does he not rate Bertrand on the overlap? Clearly not. RB can rightly be frustrated with the number of times he busts a gut to make the overlap only to be ignored.
igsey Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Not great but we're not doing bad, certainly been an improvement on our last game. Noticeably we're much happier to hoof it out from the back when under pressure rather than give it away in stupid areas. Would be nice if we could score though.
OttawaSaint Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Clearly not. RB can rightly be frustrated with the number of times he busts a gut to make the overlap only to be ignored. Bertie has a good shot too. It’s infuriating, Redmond just can’t decide what do.
DT Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Predictably just before half time. Gash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Behind Enemy Lines Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Gunn rushes out and breaks up an attack
Sheaf Saint Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Well I was just about to post that I think we're looking alright here and seem to be keeping Wolves largely quiet. Then that happens. FFS Saints.
Batman Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Game over We just have not threatened what so ever We are a very bad premier league side
OttawaSaint Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Tabernac. We’re awful. Jesus the CBs, Gunn, wtf?!?!
Edmonton Saint Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Just so easy. Gunn should have done better
Useful Idiot Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Great defending by Saints! What a team we have!!!
Saints foreva Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 How wasn't Valary fouled in the build up to that? Pathetic defending as ever. ****e from Gunn too.
igsey Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 FFS. Gunn has to hold that. Or at least put it out.
SaintZamboni Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Really solid performance, albeit with limited threat, and then classic defensive cluster f. What a waste.
Plastic Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Pathetic. Had the best of it for a while but Hoj’s inability to shoot has cost us.
Mr X Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 And there it is even at one nil it is game over for us Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
Batman Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Var has been our best player this season!!!! FACT
Master Bates Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 WE LOVE YOU VAR, WE LOVE YOU VAR, NOW YOU'RE GONNA BELIEVE IT, NOW YOU'RE GONNA BELIEVE IT, NOW YOU'RE GONNA BELIEEEEEVE IIIIIT, WE LOVE YOU VAR 2 GOALS LOL
Mr X Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Var to our rescue yet again Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
Jimmy_D Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 We'd be so ****ed without VAR. You've watched Saints before this season then! It's not a coincidence that Saints have benefited more than any other team from VAR.
John Boy Saint Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Thank f*ckety f*ck for VAR. Thank Charlie Austin for going Parklife!!
Sheaf Saint Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 FFS. Gunn has to hold that. Or at least put it out. Yeah, once again he's been let off. The ball was flicked so slowly towards the goal - there's no excuse for parrying it back into the danger area at that speed.
Ohio Saint Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 You've watched Saints before this season then! It's not a coincidence that Saints have benefited more than any other team from VAR. This
OttawaSaint Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 You've watched Saints before this season then! It's not a coincidence that Saints have benefited more than any other team from VAR. We always seemed to get jobbed by the officials but the experts on here said it all evens out over a season.
igsey Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Hojbjerg absolutely stealing a living at the moment as a footballer. Would like to see him out for Boufal or Armstrong but it's never going to happen unless he picks up an injury.
OttawaSaint Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Another decent move, Bertrand volley into side netting.
Jack Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Massive let off. Not playing to the whistle in the buildup to their 'goal', everyone just stopped. Redmond guilty of trying to take everyone on, all the time. He needs to find some passes. Gunn is a liability with these charges out of the box. We're in this as it stands but I just can't see us scoring or keeping clean sheets.
Crab Lungs Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Hojbjerg absolutely stealing a living at the moment as a footballer. Would like to see him out for Boufal or Armstrong but it's never going to happen unless he picks up an injury. He's always stole a living - he's never been good at anything. Fist pumps alot though.
HarvSFC Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Wolves are there for the taking, but then so are we. We just need a bit more quality up top.
Saints foreva Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Our lack of pace and attack minded players in that midfield three just makes us so painfully easy to defend against.
OttawaSaint Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 We’ve been ok but it’s only a matter of time before Vestergaard slips, we give away a stupid penalty, or Gunn charges past the ball.
OttawaSaint Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 I can't see me keeping a clean sheet Weak bladder?
Pamplemousse Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 We've played well. Although I am comparing that to our recent dire performances. We have improved at least. Still think it'll end up 0-0
Crab Lungs Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 You keep repeating this, but literally nobody is actually saying it. They're not saying it now... as people are slowly realising he's utter f()cking cr4p... but they were. Still a few holding out though with excuses like; goalkeeper coaching, whole teams fault etc... Now he doesn't have the most robust defence or midfield in front of him but if you let in 1 goal every 1.8 shots and every other part of your game is average to terrible then chances are, you're not very good. As he's proving today. That said, he'll pull one save off and everyone will forget again, much like Forster until he got abominally bad.
doddisalegend Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 VAR making an early season push for our player of the season. Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
Baird of the land Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Hojberg looks much better in this shape as do much of the team. Been excellent today. Redmond looking dangerous but needs a word to not want todo ithimself every t8me. Bertrand playing well too. However defense still looks too fragile to simple balls and Gunn is an accident waiting to happen. Not a fan of var or new handball rule but they have saved our bacon today. Huge second half coming.
Sheaf Saint Posted 19 October, 2019 Posted 19 October, 2019 Overall, it's not been as bad a performance as I predicted beforehand. We seem to be keeping Wolves in their own half pretty well, but still looking a little shaky when they do threaten. Gunn will be the man most relieved about the two disallowed goals, as he could and should have done better on both occasions. First time racing off his line with no chance of getting the ball, and then parrying a weak shot into the danger area. Up front, we seem to be having good possession around their area but, again, not making the right decisions with it. What does Bertrand have to do to convince Redmond to actually use him on the overlap FFS? JWP, as usual, is anonymous and offering nothing going forward, and I would replace him with Boufal at HT - though we just know Ralph won't do that. I hate to tempt fate but I reckon the game is there for the taking. Wolves are not firing on all cylinders today so if we don't get anything from this we will only have ourselves to blame.
