Who would you take back and what would you pay for them?

Not thinking of the likes of Bale and van Dijk, who remain well beyond us, more the ones whose careers haven't worked out or who have declined in value, ability or profile since leaving. Ones that would have at least an outside chance of agreeing to return and accept our wages.

Clyne?

Wanyama?

Cork?

Schneiderlin?

JRod?

Walcott?

Chambers?

Others?

Chambers is the only one I'd be interested in, the rest have had their heyday.

Chambers £30 mill, Wanyama £15 mill (after 1-year loan deal dependent on appearances)

Clyne? - yes, but only if and when Cedric were to leave - £5M

Wanyama? - nope, Spurs fan in the office says his legs have gone and is just a water carrier now

Cork? - 100% yes, big fan - £10M

Schneiderlin? - not sure - £7M

JRod? - yes, if he gets his hair cut - £7M

Walcott? - lad can't stay fit, my standard £7M

Chambers? - yes, based on utility value - £10M

You didn’t watch Chambers play on Monday if you would pay 10m

Chambers would walk into our side are RB - £15m

Would take Wanyama too, Hojbjerg has been shocking this season - £10m

People are dreaming if they think we could get an improving 24-year-old England international, who plays for one of the Big Six, for less than £30 million, not that Arsenal would sell him anyway. He is back in their first team and they haven't lost a single game he's played in this season.

Football London: " His appearance at right-back at Old Trafford indicates he is already ahead of Ainsley Maitland-Niles in that position but the impressive way he rose to the challenge posed by Daniel James might heighten his case to play elsewhere."

Sorry that’s rubbish Chambers was appalling- he has no pace for a full back and not strong enough in the centre.

If you want to spend 15m go for WBA right back Furlong

None, none of them are good enough.

The only ex players that I'd want are ones we would never get like Bale, Van Dijk and Mane. Maybe Shaw.

Most of the rest have just gone downhill. You could say Tadic has had a renaissance, but he was decidedly average for two years for us, and is playing in a much easier league. Obviously the change of surroundings has helped him so no guarantee he would replicate that form.

Chambers is only playing for Arsenal because Bellerin is injured and they have no real proper right full back to fill in for him.

Maitland-Niles is midfielder and Chambers is some sort of in-between players that is too slow for full back, too error prone and not strong enough for centre-back and not good enough technically for midfield.

Talking rubbish, Bellerin is back soon and will be first choice.

Lovren - £10m

Clyne - £5m

Wanyama - £5-10m

Morgan - £10-15m

Lallana - £10m

Pelle (is he even still playing?) - nothing

Jay-Rod - £10-15m

Chambers is awful.

Cork massively overrated, always has been for some reason.

Walcott past it, one trick pony.

Tadic, shaw, Mane, VvD, ox etc all unrealistic

Yup he is still playing - at Shandong Luneng along with Marouane Fellani. Still rattling them in the back of the net at a prolific rate, seems to be maturing with age too 16 in 32 last year - 24 in 32 this year.

Given his age we got good money for him, and far play to him pocketing £50m + in wages since he left, ain't going to see him go poor in his old age.

My daughter has been following him on social media since he left - seems to have a very very nice life.

Clyne - would rather give Valery a chance to develop

Wanyama - sounds like injuries have taken their toll

Cork - average

Schneiderlin - on one hand feel like he could still do well here, but at 29 I'm not sure we'd need to take a risk on that. Maybe for a small fee and use him in rotation

JRod - he was poor after his injury, maybe a change of scene helped him a little, but still don't think he's great anymore

Walcott - wouldn't say no in a cut price deal but doesn't bring enough to the table to warrant a big fee

Chambers - still potential to be a decent player but think the fee Arsenal wouldn't be worth it. Maybe £10m - £12m

Tadic - miss him but that ship has sailed, he's too good for us now (people still complaining that was ineffective for us...)

Pelle - could probably still be useful but not worth a fee. Would be nice to see his handsome face again though, could even be enough to tempt my wife to a game

Lallana - if he wasn't so injury prone could still be effective. But he is, so it's a no

Lovren - not a chance

Chamberlain - obviously unrealistic but he would have been better going to a poorer team and playing more, even if it wasn't us, when he left Arsenal

So in summary: Schneiderlin on a cheap deal is the only one I think would be both worth it and possible, but even that is questionable.

Cork was excellent and would improve the team no-end over the sh1te we have now. It was just unfortunate that he had the likes of Schneiderlin, Wanyama in front of him.

Lallana wouldn't be a bad shout but it really would depend on exactly how much - £10m tops would be probably be fair... it's not as if we'd be buying him for pace, more for guile.

Wanyama - huge yes, considering we have only one DM with the turning circle of a dreadnought (and he's our best midfielder) and the fact we have the worst collection of centre-halves since Souness started a collection with Boumsong and Bramble at Newcastle.

Pelle, Tadic. Nah, boo them both. Rubbish mate. Rubbish.

Yes, shocking. Wouldn't get into our team. :mcinnes:
