Heisenberg Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 Not injured. Not selected by Lampard. Was in the squad Wednesday night. Before that he was ill
benjii Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 can't believe the negativity from some going into this one. They're a similar level to United, Leicester, West Ham.. winnable game at home. When was the last time we beat any of them at home?
Crab Lungs Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 When was the last time we beat any of them at home? Poch I'm sure... a long time ago :-(
Pamplemousse Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 When was the last time we beat any of them at home? Drew against United, lost last time at home to Leicester (although they were managed by Puel so we would stand a better chance of beating them this time around), West Ham a bit of a bogey team for us at the moment. I'd put them more at the level of Arsenal and Spurs, two teams who we did beat at home... I expect a defeat however.
LGTL Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 Very strong looking Chelsea team. Don’t worry though, we have Long.
Yorkshire Saint Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 Gunn Valery Bertrand Maya Jan Romeo Hoj Redmond JWP Long Ings Subs: Mcarthy Stephen's Boufal Obafemi Adam's Danso No Vestergaard ?!
pimpin4rizeal Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 Boufal has been our best player in most games this season so let’s drop him for long.. wtf Ralph ???
igsey Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 Strong line ups from both teams, wasn't expecting Long to start over Boufal but it makes sense with how high Chelsea's fullbacks play. Zouma is a liability, we should score at least 1. Convicted murderer Alonso will score though, hopefully we can get a draw.
Avenue_Saint Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 Ralph at it again! Benched Boufal and brought Long in??? Lol
Greedyfly Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 Ralph at it again! Benched Boufal and brought Long in??? Lol Yeahhhhhh. Ummm this. WTAF?
baggytrousers Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 Boufal has been our best player in most games this season so let’s drop him for long.. wtf Ralph ??? Presume the plan is to use Long’s pace to expose Alonso’s out of position tendancies
redkeith Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 If Shane Long is the answer, you are asking the wrong question.
austsaint Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 How can he play Long and even Prowse in front of Boufal...on current form? Losing some trust in Ralph.
CB Fry Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 It's turning in to a must win. In OctoberJesus wept.
CB Fry Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 No Vestergaard ?! That will be because he is utter dogsh it.
CB Fry Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 Would have liked to see Boufal but generally happy with that team.
SNSUN Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 Long running at inexperienced defenders, I get it. Just not for Boufal. At least when he comes on he’ll be fresh and willing to make an impact. Back 4 is correct. Need Redmond to put in a 10 out of 10 game.
cloggy saint Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 Convicted murderer Alonso will score though, hopefully we can get a draw. You sir, are a ****
Lighthouse Posted 6 October, 2019 Author Posted 6 October, 2019 All good except Long. He’s the player you pick when you’re out of ideas and just want the team to sort of look like they’re giving it a go. Would have preferred Adams, he will get a break eventually he just needs that first goal.
Sheaf Saint Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 Oh good, Angus Gunn. Wow. You really have got it in for him, haven't you! He may be far from being a top quality keeper, but I really don't see that McCarthy is a better option right now. There's very little between them IMO. They will both make some decent saves now and again, then have occasional brain farts and let in silly goals that they should be saving.
doddisalegend Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 So a few games into the season and none of our summer signings are starting. I'd like to think Djenepo would be, if he was fit, but still it's not a great advert for our summer business... Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
Batman Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 Will this be set up for long to work one side of the pitch? Or long up top and leave JwP to provide width?
obelisk Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 Always used to think of a home game as one where we'd at least give the opposition a game, however good. For a while now we've tended to struggle for points at St Mary's and I find myself almost hating the place. Prove me wrong Saints.
