Not seen much of it so far, but this is a sterling effort from Japan. I assumed it would be a routine, high-scoring win for Ireland, but if Japan can hold on to this lead it will be well deserved.

A lovely example of fluid nationality; Pieter Labuschagne is a South African playing for and captaining Japan, whilst his brother Marnus plays cricket for Australia.

Well deserved by South Africa in the end. They defended brilliantly and ruthlessly exploited England's weakness at set pieces. They had a gameplan and stuck to it, and the better team won.

 

Disappointing after England's monumental effort to beat NZ last week, but can have no complaints in the end.
