The Cat Posted 26 September, 2019 Share Posted 26 September, 2019 Lad at work reckons quite a few went down with no tickets and managed to get 'herded' in, don't know how true this is Heard that too from someone too, but no idea if it happened. Bloke said it was about 20 lads and they didn't want them hanging around outside so just put them in the ground.
ozzyman Posted 26 September, 2019 Share Posted 26 September, 2019 I think the most pathetic part of all this is the News actually deeming this worthy of a news story, talk about trying to score points over any trivial thing. Mind you, how anyone could think about getting their phone out when that second goal went in...……. Dont have any truck with it, they’re just trying to distract attention from the fact that we stuffed them 4-0 on their own patch. I don’t remember the News featuring that c**t Westwood ****ing on seats at St Marys back in 2012, or was he just flashing his little spratt to the Skate yoof! JRM Posted 26 September, 2019 Share Posted 26 September, 2019 There were loads without tickets, watch back the game for the first 20 mins the gangways are clear, once the special train finally arrived and we all got in the stand is packed including all gangways. Top effort and support, can’t see any away game being as good as that for a while.
LGTL Posted 26 September, 2019 Share Posted 26 September, 2019 About 200 without tickets got in by all accounts! Certainly more then packed in that away end. Top atmosphere too from everyone. There were some great stories too, particularly one lad who waded in (and didn’t get a scratch) before the game and lost both his shoes in the carnage. Walked around with trench foot for the rest of the night Every single Portsmyth has been shattered, they are genuinely humiliated and don’t know what to do with themselves. Fantastic. Wouldn't surprise me. I did exactly that in '04 when I was on a banning order. Train was delayed and I was part of the 300+ escorted to the ground and we got there 20 mins late, basically bundled my way in as 200+ angry Saints behind me. Easy. Game wasn't as good as Tuesday's though

OWTS Hope you complained to a steward. We can't have people standing where they want blocking others getting to their rightful seat. I spent most of my time asking people in front to sit down while pointing out the terms and conditions on the back of the ticket which state no standing is allowed in seated areas. As someone who paid hard earned money for my ticket I am disgusted that people got in for free. Disgraceful behaviour from our fans. Roll on the day when the whole away end is full of people sat down vlogging the match from a phone on a selfie stick.

The Cat Posted 26 September, 2019 Share Posted 26 September, 2019 What's with the sarcasm? He said fairplay to them. It wasn't towards him. Aimed at the state of some of the modern fans, the ones who bring iPads to games, hold up signs asking for shirts and complain about people standing up. Fortunately our end on Tuesday was largely devoid of them which meant the atmosphere was spot on. Nothing but praise from me for anyone who blagged their way in and gave everything to get behind the team.

Bad Wolf Posted 27 September, 2019 Share Posted 27 September, 2019 I pity Westwood tbh. Imagine having such a deep love and obsession with a professional sports club which doesn't care if you live or die (other than your money). They probably value him a bit more than your average supporter because of how recognisable he is but that's about it. I love Saints a healthy amount. Not more than friends, family or even pets and appreciate it's very much a one way love. I know Westwood must get recognised a lot but ultimately must live a very lonely life. As I said fair play to them for being brave enough to turn up in on a tues night at farton park with out a ticket. Also thought plod did a good job. Surely not Was definitely the case in the second half, you could hear TCWTB's Bell from the back of the Milton Road End, even though he was the opposite side of the ground in the Fratton End. A few of their lot are claiming a microphone was left on "by accident" and it came over the tannoy, but i'm pretty sure we all know the truth... Turkish Posted 27 September, 2019 Share Posted 27 September, 2019 So after all the hype no the dust has settled what are we actually left with? 20 minutes of huff and puff followed by 70 minutes of the easiest away win you could wish to see. A welcoming commitee as scary as a trip to MK Dons. Piping their own atmosphere through their PA system to make themselves look better. Outsung for 90 minutes by the 2,000 church mice from the family club down the road. The mighty 657 kept back from the saints firm by 2 foot fences and street curbs. All in all it couldn’t get more embarrassing for them. Let’s hope we draw them in the FA cup.

Of course Dsiney always amplify stuff and know that the background atmosphere is important, it would also enhance their fans for the TV audience. I recall them saying to us we did the same in the past, strange, it must be common to do such things. At Bournemouth they just use a feed of a pin drop
