redkeith Posted 22 September, 2019 Posted 22 September, 2019 Never been a fan of Friday night football, for me it a time for socialising but I hadn't also remembered that Saints are so bad on Friday nights. I think we have lost the last 5 Friday home games on the spin, Bournemouth, Liverpool,Reading , Leicester, Colchester, but it could even be more than that. The only Friday home win that comes to mind is the 2 0 over Liverpool in 84. Can anyone remember another Friday home win ?

I also remember beating Plymouth 4-1 on a Good Friday in the 1970's although that was different as either an 11am or 3pm kick off and pre-dates the over-televised era.

That season we lost to Reading we also lost to Bristol City at St Mary’s on a Friday night - absolute shocker that would have seen us go a whole calendar year unbeaten at home, can only dream of that now!!
