Dalek2003 Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Fantastic three points. A bit of luck and a gritty professional defence of our lead !!!

hypochondriac Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Superb three points away from home. Good performance from saints and we should hopefully finish comfortably in mid table this year.
Useful Idiot Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Great goal and great result! I was totally wrong about Djenepo being a luxury signing, at the moment I'd have him in the team over Redmond, he looks far more of a goal threat.
Colinjb Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 A very decent three points. Mid way up the table, 1 point off third. We havn't even really started clicking yet. Quite happy with life at the moment.
Ohio Saint Posted 14 September, 2019 Author Posted 14 September, 2019 VAR is working out great for Saints. Hotly contested, but a fair result in an even match thanks to VAR. Either side could have one, but justice prevailed through technology......'cos the rest was even
OttawaSaint Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 For thse who haven’t seen it yet, Djenepo goal: https://streamja.com/n5QA
Saint-Armstrong Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 First time since 1986 that we've kept clean sheets in three consecutive away wins!
Batman Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Good game We had some good chances, Adams unlucky Had some fortune. Great away win Boufal was superb Djenepo scores another great goal Romeu was very good Veatergaard was poor. Whether he had a mare or due to the set up. Dunno

ButtikonSaint Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 that was pretty good... great goal, good team work, clean sheet, COYS

Great away win Boufal was superb Djenepo scores another great goal Romeu was very good Veatergaard was poor. Whether he had a mare or due to the set up. Dunno Agree with all of that. I would add, well done Ralf to see that Djenepo at LWB wasn’t working changing it to Cedric LWB and JWP on the right.
Ohio Saint Posted 14 September, 2019 Author Posted 14 September, 2019 For thse who haven’t seen it yet, Djenepo goal: https://streamja.com/n5QA Thanks! I missed it during the stream issues. Having seen it now, Like the 'tater said "A just resort for his honesty." Most players would have gone down. This was so refreshing to see.
Dark Munster Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Romeu, Bednarek, Gunn very good. Boufal, Adam's, Djenepo, Cedric, Yoshi good. Vestergaard nightmare, but I have sympathy: he should be nowhere near left back.
whelk Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Romeu is so good again now. Colossus Boufal and Moussa makes exciting again. Defence v shaky

Saints foreva Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Managed the game well after the sending off, JV was a constant liability though. Yoshida had a good game, as did Adams. Romeu outstanding in the second half. Great goal from Djenepo. Good win. Up the Saints.
manji Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 A very decent three points. Mid way up the table, 1 point off third. We havn't even really started clicking yet. Quite happy with life at the moment. Agreed we are only going to get better. Harsh on Vestergaard he’s playing out of position as well.
Badger Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 For thse who haven’t seen it yet, Djenepo goal: https://streamja.com/n5QA Thanks. Great individual work by Djenepo but credit also to Boufal for closing their bloke down in the lead up. Looks as if Boufal is on board with the Ralph Express so fair play to him and RH for that.
saintadjg Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Loving VAR right now. Our games are anything but dull that's for sure. Djenpo is looking a class act. Boufal had another good game as did Rom. Vest was poor again and looking like a real weak link in our armour not a fan of Cedric either. We do make things hard for ourselves at times. Need to sirt that left back slot. Be happier with Valery at right back too. Still another win great goal and a clean sheet and upto 10th happy days.
Jimmy_D Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 For thse who haven’t seen it yet, Djenepo goal: https://streamja.com/n5QA Beautiful goal!
Saint-Armstrong Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Also the first time Saints have won two away games in a row since Claude Puel was manager...
Saint Pete Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Great result! Top half now, which is way better after 5 games than seemed likely after the disappointment on the first day at Burnley. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Dunno Do you still think that we are clearly going down this season? You never answered when I asked you after Brighton.
SaintBitterne Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 What do people make of Bertrand s omission? Still not fully fit or something more. Badly miss him at the position
Matthew Le God Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Saints in the top half of the Premier League for the first time since September 2018!
Ohio Saint Posted 14 September, 2019 Author Posted 14 September, 2019 Way too early to make judgements about VAR, but if this sequence continues, I would have to worry about whatever was going on in the past regarding the decisions we were getting......Could get interesting.....or not.
hypochondriac Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 For thse who haven’t seen it yet, Djenepo goal: https://streamja.com/n5QAHe's a superb player. Great buy well done sfc.
The Kraken Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Saints in the top half of the Premier League for the first time since September 2018! Seems longer than that. Great stuff and a really good win.
Saint Pete Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 What do people make of Bertrand s omission? Still not fully fit or something more. Badly miss him at the positionNo idea what's going on with him, but it will certainly be a relief when Bertrand is back starting. We won't keep getting away with playing makeshift left backs in this league for long. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
Ohio Saint Posted 14 September, 2019 Author Posted 14 September, 2019 The feeling in my water, bones, liver, whatever, tells me that Bertrand will not play for us again.

OttawaSaint Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Thanks. Great individual work by Djenepo but credit also to Boufal for closing their bloke down in the lead up. Looks as if Boufal is on board with the Ralph Express so fair play to him and RH for that. Boufal was excellent today, he was beating players well, retaining possession well and as you said, his back tracking was very good too, an asset of his that often goes unnoticed.
Tamesaint Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Excellent result. We seem to have learnt how to manage a game out. After the last few years this is such good news. The fixture list turns nasty in a couple of weeks. Points on the board now are so important.
Viking Saint Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 The feeling in my water, bones, liver, whatever, tells me that Bertrand will not play for us again. It does seem weird. Why was he on the bench today if he was fit??
Jimmy_D Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 When was the last time we won after an international break?
Ohio Saint Posted 14 September, 2019 Author Posted 14 September, 2019 When was the last time we won after an international break? Today
OttawaSaint Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 I particularly liked a lot of our build up play, players seem to be getting on the same wavelength with some nice flicks and quick passes. Adams really deserved a goal today, his best game for Saints so far.
Jimmy_D Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Today Haha, correct When was the last time we won the game immediately following an international break, before today?
Mr X Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Very happy to be proven wrong today! Good goal! however Sheffield United were very unlucky not to get something from the match with the amount of clearcut chances they had & never gave up till the whistle. Posives: djenpo has all the attributes to be useful! He's not anywhere near mane at the moment let's not get carried away but is the right age to become a very good player! Romeo did all the simple things well!, Boufal looking much more interested, he always had the skills, a clean sheet! Negatives: vestarguard simply not good enough & needs replacing! Misses a woeful number of headers and clearances for his height & just too slow! We still look shaky in defense, a experienced defender is still a must in my opinion, danso needs a leader to play alongside Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
benjii Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 I've done my ratings. Please see below. Probably a bit lucky to win as we could have easily conceded a couple and the defence was often all over the place. Gunn - 7. Two important saves, albeit McGoldrick's efforts were a bit tame. Did nothing wrong. Cedric - 6. Ok. You just always feel he should offer more. Did well filling in on the left though. Bednarek - 6. ok. Doesn't make problems by going wandering the way some of our other centre backs like to do. Yoshida - 6. ok. Vesteergard - 4. Mess. Djenepo, wing back - 4. No. Dejenepo, trequartista - 8. Yes. Hojbjerg - 7. Solid and steady. Romeu - 7. Solid and steady. JWP - 6. Didn't make an impact in his first position but did a good job when he moved to wing back. Boufal - 8. Our best player on the ball throughout. Took the pressure off and got us up the pitch. If he had a more reliable shot and final ball he'd be worth a fortune. Adam's - 7. Worked very well and looked after the ball in the second half. Needs a goal though. I'm looking forward to Adam's's first goal against AFCB or Skates. Ings - 7. Did well when we needed to keep the ball intelligently. Long and Armstrong - can't remember. Don't know.
OttawaSaint Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Long and Armstrong - can't remember. Don't know. I don’t think Long touched the ball. Armstrong rather worryingly was half asleep again and very sloppy in possession when we most needed him to retain the ball.
shurlock Posted 14 September, 2019 Posted 14 September, 2019 Not sure why the relief per the OP? I thought we were in total control second half. Romeu, Yoshida, Boufal, Djenepo and Adams all had v.good games. Vestergaard was dog****. Nice parting gift from Les. I do hope that he drops to the bench when Danso returns (rather than Yoshida).
