No idea of how we compare, but that was a young team out tonight. Barnes is 22, Slattery and O'Driscoll 20, and the rest 16-19, including a 16 year old debutant and 17 year old keeper. Was a strange line up too - 6 defenders and only 4 on the bench. It's a bit of a mess.

John Boy Saint Posted 31 August, 2019 Posted 31 August, 2019 Amazingly not particularly shocked at that result. I went to the Hampshire Cup game at Basingstoke Town towards the end of last season. When you consider that all our lads are full time footballers, they were often outplayed by a bunch of part timers (being harsh) playing (and soon to depart) in a league 6 divisions below the one most of our lads were being prepared for. No one except maybe Will Ferry actually stood out for Saints.

VectisSaint Posted 8 December, 2019 Posted 8 December, 2019 The U18s got destroyed 5 0 They did, but to be fair the U18s aren't doing too badly this season, there is a group of 4 teams (including West Ham) who are so much better than anyone else in the Division, but Saints are currently at least best of the rest, hugely inconsistent it seems.
Master Bates Posted 8 December, 2019 Author Posted 8 December, 2019 That is a fair comment, 5th in the League. Saints U23s away to Derby Tues 10th and Mon 16th, I wonder if they'll stay up there for the week. Probably be cheaper to come back.
