SaintRobbie Posted 20 January, 2009 Share Posted 20 January, 2009 Lowe had two options, give us the chance to save the season or save face. He chose the latter. Git. I dont understand him... all he is doing is delaying losing face and when he does it will be even greater. He must now be throw out.

Channon's Sideburns Posted 20 January, 2009 Share Posted 20 January, 2009 One word accurately describes this club at the moment.....CLUELESS. Appointing a 'coach' with no experience at this level...CLUELESS Bringing in people from Pompey to act as stewards...CLUELESS Blooding too many youngsters too soon, therefore ballsing up their careers...CLUELESS Creating a marriage of convenience within the Boardroom....CLUELESS Alienating the fans by removing a picture of the only manager who has actually WON SOMETHING for this club.....CLUELESS Choosing to 'Take a Break' instead of attending one of the most important games of the season.....CLUELESS Disregarding all popular opinion to improve attendances by dropping prices for kids (the ****ing future of this club)....CLUELESS Purposely aggravating attendees at the AGM....CLUELESS Sticking with a Coach who has no idea what is needed to survive....CLUELESS. Saint Fan CaM Posted 20 January, 2009 Share Posted 20 January, 2009 If the outcome of the meeting is exactly as stated then Lowe will reap the wrath of the fans, even if this is as simple as not buying anymore ST's or matchday tickets. Many people now are just no longer interested in supporting the club under its present structure - they would rather see the club go into administration and take its chances than see Lowe, Wilde and JP in place. However, the article does quote Lowe as giving JP the kiss of death with those time honoured words - "as I'm sat here he has my full support". OK, so how long before you stand up to be counted Lowe? benjii Posted 20 January, 2009 Share Posted 20 January, 2009 whereas he doesn't speak the Queens English, JP always appears with fighting talk and he hasn't once blamed Rupert Lowe for dealing him the sh*tty hand that he's forced to play........turning the Academy lads into a CCC first team in ONE SEASON. I'm sure he likes the challenge but the home form has really screwed him, whereas our away form is as good as any mid table side. There are other teams in this league who have far more experienced squads than we have, who aren't performing much better than we are. No-one can deny that the absence of Svensson in the back line is surely the reason for defensive lapses, and the fact we had three "class strikers " who went out and loan and didn't perform any better than the lads we used up front is also not gone unnoticed. Thank God Davis is in such good form otherwise we'd be below Charlton. For better or wor*e, I think we'll stick with JP and the same coaching structure, and expect Rupert Lowe to find SOME funds (from somewhere) to find us another striker and more cover at the back. Meantime SURVIVAL this season (given all the above,) would be a real achievement and I would give JP a special medel if he achieves it , 'cos he will have "achieved more" in relative terms in creating THIS team, than would Alex Ferguson - if Man U win the Prem. If you flipped burgers at McDonalds and were offered the Global Group Chief Exec position you would hardly complain if you didn't quite have the executive authority of your predecessor. aintforever Posted 20 January, 2009 Share Posted 20 January, 2009 If the Lowe/Poortvleit combo is still in place I have no desire to go the next game, and I have a season ticket. I' just don't think it's fair on the kids to be put in that situation, it's hard enough making the jump from academy football without having the handicap of a manager who hasn't a faintest idea of what the league is about. Matt SFC Posted 20 January, 2009 Share Posted 20 January, 2009 Jan seems like a nice guy, and I was willing to give him time at the start of the season, and while we weren't in the relegation zone I did not criticise him. I am one of those who felt he was doing a reasonably good job from very limited resources. However I no longer believe this and think he should be replaced, for the following main two reasons: . Tactics - Maybe James shouldn't be playing RB, and Skacel should be further up the field, and 1 up front may not be working. But what I find unforgivable above all this, is putting Holmes at RM and BWP at LM in the game against Doncaster. There is no logic or explanation behind this, it beggers belief. If the players hadn't already lost confidence in the manager then i'm sure this would have done the trick. Lallana at RM in recent games is another masterstroke. . Player Motivation - I am convinced we do not have the 2nd weakest squad in the Championship and Jan seems unable to get the best out of the players, this ties in with tactics to. How a World Cup finalist fails to motivate a squad of young players just starting their careers and seasoned professionals (on underservedly high wages) is unbelievable. At any other club in any other league Jan would be gone by now. I guess we will just have to see what happens at Norwich next week.

krissyboy31 Posted 20 January, 2009 Share Posted 20 January, 2009 Lowe is a bigger idiot than I ever took him for. He had the chance to deflect the fans anger away from himself by sacking his inept Head Coach and replacing him with a proper manager that the fans could have rallied around and in his usual pig-headed, "Rupert knows best!" style, gave a glowing endorsement of his revolutionary coaching team. AlfredKo Posted 21 January, 2009 Share Posted 21 January, 2009 If we had won every game, we would be top of the league. Not if, we must be relastic. The truth is we are doing extremely well in away games given you don't count the away games on Sky. George Burley and Nigel Pearson never can guide us to win away at Reading, Preston, Derby, Bransley. The home form is miserable and is a mystery too. God knows why the we can only win one mid-week game at home and why we can win away games but not at home. Very very strange.

David Strover Posted 21 January, 2009 Share Posted 21 January, 2009 One thing I don't understand is how come, or in the eyes of some posters, we are the only team in the whole football league with; 1. No money 2. Youngsters in the first team I don't think we are. Are all the other teams in the whole league in this situation bottom of the table. No. There's your answer. Incapable coach - players who aren't quite as good as we've been lead to believe. The board aren't even worth mentioning. We must be the only club in the whole of Britain who could be performing as we are and nothing changes. It is the 21st century not the 1960s if you don't produce the goods you 'used' to get the sack in modern football. Not here. I'm applying for the vacancy when it comes up again. I'm completely sh*te but I know I'll be safe for about two years and I also know the salary is way in excess of what I get now. Sorted.

Surely if he dumps JP, he's got to dump the rest of the coaching experiment, i.e. Wotte and Hockaday. (haven't heard if there has been a change with Hockaday and his gardening leave), unless of course there has been a bust up between JP and Hockaday, in which case maybe RL is planning to repeat his Wigley and Crouch's Gorman/Dodd mistakes by giving the job to DH? paris Posted 21 January, 2009 Share Posted 21 January, 2009 On Saturday, 31 January 2009, there will be a protest from the park opposite K.F.C in the town centre, down to the ground. The walk down to the ground will start at 13.30pm. We do ask if possible for you to be there at 13.15pm just so we know how many people will be attending. We will then protest outside the ground for about 15-20 minutes before going into the ground. We also ask that if you have yet to get a ticket that you purchase one for the Northam or the Itchen and not the Chapel or the Kingsland. Banners/ sings are welcome if you can get them into the ground. I know you will have other questions and I will try to answer them. Please leave a comment below or add me at simon_hampshire@hotmail.com and I will talk to you there. 1.
