Turkish Posted 21 August, 2019 Share Posted 21 August, 2019 Sad news as he has announced his retirement due to injury. A saints legend for those 3 minutes v MK Dons all those years ago. More famous for his nickname and Adkins introductory intro than his time at saints, aside from those goals. “When they tell me a player is quick, I always ask them ‘is he jonno quick?’ He he’s that ball he runs and sometimes he’s unplayable” good old Nig and good old Jonno Quick. Enjoy your retirement, a saints legend.
Batman Posted 21 August, 2019 Share Posted 21 August, 2019 Ummmmm I’m sure Saoldgit will be along shortly, highlighting the error of your ways in that post above. The daft old social justice warrior he is!
Dusic Posted 21 August, 2019 Share Posted 21 August, 2019 Just like Billy Sharp his Saints PL career was taken away from him by the audacity of the club to sign better players. One has to wonder just how much a hand-signed JQ photo would have been worth had he been given the chance to score a hattrick on Super Sunday against Watford. Despite this, his L1 contribution, in one game, made his signing worthwhile. Welcome back at SMS any time Jonno, just avoid the Gasworks Bar unless you have an alternative income stream. The sponsorless shirt is symbolic of his time here Part of the group but never part of the crowd. Unlike Billy Sharp I don’t see fans clamouring for him to have been given a chance In the premier league despite the same fans demanding pace and aggression as a prerequisite of any signing, Something jonno quick had in abundance. What could Ralph do with him? Who knows? One this is for sure he wouldn’t contribute less than Elyounoussi did for a lot more cash...

Called it.... https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?32481-Jonno-Quick-at-Centre-BackNot sure about centre back but as a front sweeper he would have been excellent. Could have used his pace to patrol the entire width of the pitch in front of the back four. John Boy Saint Posted 22 August, 2019 Share Posted 22 August, 2019 Indeed those 3 minutes for those who were there certainly is a Saints moment to treasure. 2-0 Down We were huffing and puffing (coughing and wheezing more like) at the MK goal to no avail. Adkins rolls the dice, and on JQ comes - first touch is awful and greeted with groans, second touch back of the net, third touch back of the net. Suddenly we are on fire and MK are resembling the cannon fodder most of us thought they would be at kick off. Straight out of the pages of Roy Race and Melchester Rovers! Those were great days to be a Saints fan.
