ant Posted 18 August, 2019 Share Posted 18 August, 2019 Surprised not to see any mention of this. After the second goal yesterday, a Liverpool fan threw a smoke bomb into Block 42. I caught most of the aftermath, as a rush of enraged Saints fans headed over towards the segregation. Also heard somebody say "he's hit a kid!" One guy in particular properly lost his head. Had to be restrained/escorted away by multiple officers (and didn't cool down in the slightest as he was dragged away). Though I can't 100% verify this tweet, it does tally with my account. Their lot have form with this sort of thing. Obviously they're not specifically targeting minors - but it's pretty ****ing thick behaviour regardless. beatlesaint Posted 18 August, 2019 Share Posted 18 August, 2019 They are constantly the worst supporters we have year after year. I appreciate it’s not all of them and most are decent, knowledgeable people. But bloody hell their asshole element seem worse than anyone else’s. And why oh why every single bloody year do they smuggle a smoke bomb in? What’s the point?
Useful Idiot Posted 18 August, 2019 Share Posted 18 August, 2019 Dippers in disgusting, classless behaviour shocker. More importantly, I hope that the kid is ok!

doddisalegend Posted 18 August, 2019 Share Posted 18 August, 2019 Every time the ****s come to SMS they set off smoke bombs and every time the stewards and old bill seem to look the other way and pretend to not notice. Still throwing a smoke bomb isn't as bad as using foul language according to the clubs own guidelines..

John Boy Saint Posted 19 August, 2019 Share Posted 19 August, 2019 It was getting a bit feisty on Britannia Rd after the game, a bit of goading by the scousers and a the odd Saints fan taking the bait, distinct lack of coppers they all seemed to be clustered up towards the traffic lights end of the street. When you look look at how righteous they get about their darkest day - you would think they would be self policing against the brain dead amongst them. buctootim Posted 19 August, 2019 Share Posted 19 August, 2019 Bit of an over reaction. It was probably just one of those used for paintballing, music gigs etc. Weighs next to nothing, isnt hot, totally harmless. https://store.enolagaye.com/p/wire-pull-smoke-grenade-wp40/?attribute_pa_colour=green&gclid=CjwKCAjw7uPqBRBlEiwAYDsr10b_7NsWaTZ9HpxCxO9yhYjyR5PnWVVD7AYnLuQ8SN4rVz209dqwexoCH3sQAvD_BwE

I dont expect him to have to dodge smoke bombs at football. So people are not over reacting. Unacceptable behaviour by Liverpool fans yet again. The denial by Liverpool fans in that twitter thread is hilarious - one of them has used the justification of "loads of people thought Hitler didn't die... doesn't mean it's right." What a bunch of whoppers.
John Boy Saint Posted 19 August, 2019 Share Posted 19 August, 2019 And yet it was the saints fans who kicked up a stink because of it who were dragged out ! Apparently the thinking is by kicking out the Saints Fan they are more likely to go home, whereas the offending away supporter is likely to be hanging around outside, unable to go home as possibly their coach would not be leaving until after the final whistle, so likely to be waiting to continue the argument outside!! We were sat on the benches on the terrace level of the West Stand at the Dell one Saturday Saints v Chelsea. Chelsea fans were sat above us (not sure why or how now) on the front row of the upper tier and 2 of them thought spitting on us below would be fun. I got hit on the shoulder the chap in front got hit in his hair twice and the third time on the shoulder, he stood up turned around and gave them a piece of his mind and sat down again to watch the game - I hasten to add he in no way looked like a bloke who was remotely interested in a having a scrap - he got spat on twice more and stood up again turned around and had a few words. Next thing we know Stewards are piling in to drag him out backed up by Coppers - everyone is telling the Stewards and OB whats going on and pointing out the culprits - and still he was treated like it was him who was spitting on people. It is amazing how that Saints fan a couple of seasons back got spotted having a cheeky swig from his hip flask, and treated like a mass murderer, and yet Liverpool fans, in particular, seem to have a smoke bomb in amongst them every game, and yet with a tell tale plume of red smoke rising up from it revealing its source, in these days of wall to wall surveillance no one gets pulled for it. On exactly the same site as you've linked, there's a case study on those 'cool burn' smoke bombs which explicitly states that they can still cause fires. And that's if it was bought from a reputable source... Other examples burn at tremendous temperatures. Regardless, I maintain it's problematic (and leaves significant room for future escalation) if away fans believe that they're untouchable.

I have traveled home and away with Saints for the last 50 years and I find your comment offensive. At Brentford on Saturday some moron through a flare and it landed at my partners feet. She spent the second half in an ambulance struggling for breath and throwing up. Ruined a day out. How anyone can suggest that throwing a flare is acceptable behaviour is part of football is beyond me. On two occasions now someone in my family has been close to being seriously injured. I actually find your comments deeply offensive. 1
