tisspahars Posted 11 August, 2019 Posted 11 August, 2019 In to around 9/2 on Betfair after yesterday's somewhat underwhelming opener. I'll be laying some of that - don't think we'll be anywhere near it this year personally.......
Heisenberg Posted 11 August, 2019 Posted 11 August, 2019 I always place insurance bets as its money I'm happy to lose, but covers worst case scenarios So backed us for relegation although i would be surprised if we were (poorer sides than us IMHO) Backed Liverpool again for the title and CL + Pompey promotion Insurance bets works for me and has made me a lot last few seasons

Serious question.
SW5 SAINT Posted 12 August, 2019 Posted 12 August, 2019 How did backing Liverpool for the title, Saints to get relegated and Pompey to get promoted earn you money last year? Serious question. Liverpool didn’t win the title, Saints didn’t get relegated, Portsmouth didn’t promoted. Win win all round.........
Batman Posted 12 August, 2019 Posted 12 August, 2019 under Gao, will get relegated within the next 3 seasons!
St Lej Posted 12 August, 2019 Posted 12 August, 2019 under Gao, will get relegated within the next 3 seasons! Not with with his passionate "We march on" rallying call, surely! The guy is all about passion!

John B Posted 12 August, 2019 Posted 12 August, 2019 under Gao, will get relegated within the next 3 seasons! Yes without a great deal of investment we probably will. Especially as there don't seem to be any really special players coming through the Academy in important positions. In fact I think the lack of really good Academy players is forcing us to buy average players like when we were relegated 15 years ago
Heisenberg Posted 12 August, 2019 Posted 12 August, 2019 under Gao, will get relegated within the next 3 seasons! Don't be so dramatic Batman. Remember these wise words....
Heisenberg Posted 12 August, 2019 Posted 12 August, 2019 my mate calls it his happiness tax when he bet against saints to win. Definitely helps. Lose a game but beat the bookie. Had a few big payouts last season (eventually had my bet365 account restricted lol) and helps distract from the disappointment of a defeat.
Toussaint Posted 12 August, 2019 Posted 12 August, 2019 Norwich, Sheff United, Brighton. Despite yesterday even Burnley On Fridays showing Norwich would cause us problems, Brighton are not a bad side, just lost their way under Houghton in the second half of last season and have brought a few in over the summer. Sheffield United are an unknown quantity. Burnley are always a handful, a bit like the old Bolton under Sam. I was blindly optimistic before the weekend, but have since faded badly. But will all be right again if we get something from Liverpool.
tisspahars Posted 18 August, 2019 Author Posted 18 August, 2019 In to 4/1 on the back of the Liverpool defeat - so I've layed some more....
Heisenberg Posted 18 August, 2019 Posted 18 August, 2019 In to 4/1 on the back of the Liverpool defeat - so I've layed some more.... How much are you down if we do get relegated?
tisspahars Posted 18 August, 2019 Author Posted 18 August, 2019 No offence, but as somebody who gambles for a living I am not going to trade figures with a trolling fantasist, but suffice to say it would hurt.

Chuck us a PM if you wouldn't mind, i've been toying with the idea of doing exactly what you have.

Dark Munster Posted 20 August, 2019 Posted 20 August, 2019 Yes. Bookie or blackjack card counter? Can’t think of many other ways of making a living from gambling.
tisspahars Posted 20 August, 2019 Author Posted 20 August, 2019 Bookie or blackjack card counter? Can’t think of many other ways of making a living from gambling. Horse racing.
mrfahaji Posted 20 August, 2019 Posted 20 August, 2019 (edited) Bookie or blackjack card counter? Can’t think of many other ways of making a living from gambling. Poker? Does that count? (sorry just seen tisspahars has replied already) Edited 21 August, 2019 by mrfahaji
Heisenberg Posted 20 August, 2019 Posted 20 August, 2019 Horse racing. Keep the "mug" bets regular/consistent or they'll spot your matched betting account a mile off. Avoid ARB bets mate.
sadoldgit Posted 20 August, 2019 Posted 20 August, 2019 under Gao, will get relegated within the next 3 seasons! Just as well he isn't the manager/coach then. So looking to the positives. According to TalkSport this morning we are 1000-1 to win the league. Burnley are 2500-1.
tisspahars Posted 27 August, 2019 Author Posted 27 August, 2019 Back out to 5/1 on the back of the win at Brighton.
tisspahars Posted 1 September, 2019 Author Posted 1 September, 2019 And now out to 6/1 after the Man U game.
tisspahars Posted 15 September, 2019 Author Posted 15 September, 2019 And now out to 8/1 after the win at Sheff Utd.
tisspahars Posted 21 September, 2019 Author Posted 21 September, 2019 All the way back in to 5/1 post Bournemouth - a definite over-reaction I'd say although with the upcoming fixtures it could go shorter still before ultimately proving to be nonsense.
tisspahars Posted 29 September, 2019 Author Posted 29 September, 2019 Despite losing at Spurs we are a bigger price than we were after Bournemouth - 11/2 currently.
tisspahars Posted 6 October, 2019 Author Posted 6 October, 2019 Prices still settling after the Chelsea debacle but looks like we'll be around 9/2 which, given some of the comments on here some will find unfathomably big.
Lighthouse Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 I still don’t think we’ll go down. 8 games and we’ve played 4 of the supposed top 6, plus Burnley away and a pretty decent Bournemouth team. The other two games we’ve won. I’ll wait until we’ve played the likes of Newcastle, Norwich, Sheff Utd, Brighton, Villa and Watford at home before I get too panicky.
aintforever Posted 6 October, 2019 Posted 6 October, 2019 As above, we’ve had tough fixtures, we will be fine. Worried about the lack of decent central midfield options though, a few injuries are we could be in trouble.
tisspahars Posted 20 October, 2019 Author Posted 20 October, 2019 Still around 4/1 - 9/2 following the point at Wolves.
Saint_clark Posted 20 October, 2019 Posted 20 October, 2019 Might chuck £200 on it to fund a season ticket in the championship next season.
Lighthouse Posted 20 October, 2019 Posted 20 October, 2019 Might chuck £200 on it to most likely lose £200. Fixed.
Bridge Posted 25 October, 2019 Posted 25 October, 2019 The damage is done! Any team that loses like that will be relegated. You only have to look back at history. Where would you go from here? The confidence will be shot to bits. We might improve a little over time but not enough to survive in this league. Totally shocked to go out like this and it's all down to those F ucking **** owners!

tisspahars Posted 26 October, 2019 Author Posted 26 October, 2019 Unsurprisingly considerably shorter to go down after last night's extraordinary events - dumbfoundingly remarkable to some of you I imagine, we are still considered hugely more likely to stay up than go down. 9/4 to be relegated.
Rory Peepa Posted 27 October, 2019 Posted 27 October, 2019 It’s shorter today since Newcastle ground out another point. Tbf, we should be odds on after last few games. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
tisspahars Posted 28 October, 2019 Author Posted 28 October, 2019 No, we shouldn't. Betting exchange markets are incredibly accurate - check out some stats on the exchange SP's of horses v results as evidence. If the market has settled on 9/4 being the current price then you can rest assured that is fairly close to the likelihood. It may not fit in with the "We are so going down" narrative following Friday's humiliation, but there you are. We are in trouble, certainly, but the "It's over, nothing can save us" brigade are as wrong now as they were when they wrote it on the 2017 and 2018 versions of this thread.
tisspahars Posted 3 November, 2019 Author Posted 3 November, 2019 No change at 9/4 post Man City - the vastly improved performance presumably balancing out the lack of points and victories for some of our rivals.
