Batman Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 The comment from Flashscores... Not accurate then? not since about 15 mins in, no
Lighthouse Posted 10 August, 2019 Author Posted 10 August, 2019 We’re doing alright, for a p*ssing wet gale up in Burnley. Nothing to get me off my chair yet. As an aside, I don’t think I’d want to meet Ashley Barnes on a dark night.
OttawaSaint Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Wrong, the Prem have already said referees are instructed to allow play to continue after the linesman flags and if a goal is scored then check VAR. That's why players are being told in the pre-match briefing by the ref to ignore the linesman completely and play to the whistle. I think what he means by VAR or not is: Using VAR = no goal (as we witnessed) Not having VAR, Lino flagged = no goal
igsey Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 The comment from Flashscores... Not accurate then? I'd say it's accurate, we're dominating but it's not as fun to talk about what's going well. 25 mins in, we've had the majority of the possession but not much goalmouth action at either end. FWIW I think Stephens is playing pretty well, a couple of good pings across field and doing a perfectly adequate job, apart from the slip which wouldn't have mattered anyway.
Convict Colony Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 You've got the same scottish fool as well then
norwaysaint Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Working well for me, check you've got flash enabled or try it in another browser. Flash enabled, tried in chrome and IE, just gives me a page of ads on laptop and ipad
OttawaSaint Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Some of Saints movement has been sublime, difficult conditions are tough so passes going astray. Burnley just hoofing it.
Mr X Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Burnley close! Sent from my moto g(6) play using Tapatalk
Viking Saint Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Why no Yoshi over Stephens? Sent from my moto g(6) play using Tapatalk The million dollar question....
OttawaSaint Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Co-comm thought Adams deserved red for that VAR checked challenge.
BotleySaint Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Che is a bit lucky there. Not sure. He clearly wasn't going for the man. Would have been harsh I think.
Sam the Man Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Flash enabled, tried in chrome and IE, just gives me a page of ads on laptop and ipad Give this a try http://cyclingentertainment.stream/burnley-vs-southampton/
Lighthouse Posted 10 August, 2019 Author Posted 10 August, 2019 Che is a bit lucky there. Very a bit lucky, thought he was a gonner then.
Saint_clark Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Co-comm thought Adams deserved red for that VAR checked challenge. Apparently VAR officials can't overturn a referees decision on level of punishment for a foul if he accurately describes what they're seeing on the screen.
norwaysaint Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Give this a try http://cyclingentertainment.stream/burnley-vs-southampton/ Thank you!
trousers Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Co-comm thought Adams deserved red for that VAR checked challenge. The same chap that says Stephens is playing a blinder...?
Baird of the land Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Might have been a yellow, never a red. Small positive that var didn’t force ref to review. Despite being high there wasn’t sufficient force for it to be dangerous.
SNSUN Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 A Saints goal and we're in the Champions League places...
OttawaSaint Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Adams needs to calm down a little, he’s rushed a few passes and as a result, good moves have broken down.
Batman Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Might have been a yellow, never a red. Small positive that var didn’t force ref to review. Despite being high there wasn’t sufficient force for it to be dangerous. would have been ridiculous red
Saint_clark Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Might have been a yellow, never a red. Small positive that var didn’t force ref to review. Despite being high there wasn’t sufficient force for it to be dangerous. Premier League have already said that they don't want referees going over to review decisions, just the VAR officials letting him know what actually happened.

Saint Matty 76 Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Hoping Ings gets binned from the starting XI sooner rather than later. Would much prefer to have Boufal (or Djenepo if he's any good) with Redmond and Che.
Batman Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Vestergaard has to release the ball much quicker, valery is always on over on the right we look pretty decent when we get a chance to get the ball down. Burnley play awful football, as we know
Jimmy_D Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Burnley are awful, just hoofing it long. It’s not pretty but it’s not the worst tactic to be trying in these conditions.
RedArmy Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Wrong, the Prem have already said referees are instructed to allow play to continue after the linesman flags and if a goal is scored then check VAR. That's why players are being told in the pre-match briefing by the ref to ignore the linesman completely and play to the whistle. What has that go to do with what I said? It was offside and it was flagged offside. That goal doesn’t stand in any season of football ever. Its only this season that it’s not blown dead. VAR was only used to make sure the linesman had seen it correctly.
OttawaSaint Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Redmond has had a bit of a “didn’t pass when he should have”, and “pass when a shot is on” type of game. Valery was clean in there if he’d released him.
Convict Colony Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Ings has been pretty poor I expect a goal as soon as I post it
SaveloyMush Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Not really noticed Ings so far. I think this is going to be a common post.
Unbelievable Jeff Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 We look pretty decent TBH. Some lovely passing and triangles. Would love to see Boufal on the left, and Adams through the centre.
badgerx16 Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 This is grim viewing if I’m honest. Has it been 'disgusting' though ?
OttawaSaint Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 I think this is going to be a common post. Unfortunately it’s not like when we had Le Tiss. “Oh, man Matty doesn’t look interested today”... LE TISSIER!!! Pick that one out!!
Batman Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 skills by Redmond, goes alone, good shot and keeper makes the save. awful header by Rom from the corner.....awful
Mr X Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Has it been 'disgusting' though ?Disgustingly mediocre Sent from my moto g(6) play using Tapatalk
SNSUN Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Patience people. As long as we keep creating the chances we should be able to put one away. And we have Djenepo, Boufal and Obafemi on the bench if need be... Pope though always has a stormer against us. What is it with Burnley's goalkeepers having stormers!!! Definitely need Adams to scuff one in.
OttawaSaint Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Romeu unmarked at corner, messes up the header.
Saint_clark Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Well that's 8 attempts on goal to their 2 so far. Need to be more clinical.
verlaine1979 Posted 10 August, 2019 Posted 10 August, 2019 Ings completely uninvolved so far. Attack very one dimensional as a result.
