stanthemanfairoak Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 lowe could salvage the situation, he just has to admit he was wrong, sack poortvleit, apologise to the fans and appoint a decent manager. If the team look like they are turning it around the lowe out aggro will stop.more chance of bush gettin his job back.

Wade Garrett Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 Lowe could salvage the situation, he just has to admit he was wrong, sack Poortvleit, apologise to the fans and appoint a decent manager. If the team look like they are turning it around the Lowe out aggro will stop. He had a decent manager but let him go. Personally, I would prefer it if he had nothing to do with the next managerial appointment.

Paul Chuckle Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 I think JP is as good as gone. Why else announce a Crisis meeting if you were 100% behind the manager??????? Something behind the scenes is obviously not right especially with Hockaday being placed on gardening leave by the club Lowe sacked Wigley yes too late but he did sack him so i don't think he will be worried about sacking JP. Lowe won't admit he was wrong, he will say something along the lines of..... 'it was an idea that given time could have worked, but in football we live in a results driven enviroment and we just weren't gettng the rub of the green'

Master Bates Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 Does Wilde have final say over whether Poortvliet goes or not? I'm not sure, ask someone else.

aintforever Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 Wouldn't surprise me if Boothroyd is lined up - Woodward connection and all.

Sold To The Man @ The Bar Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 This is Lowe's chance to say- JP was sacked as Mr. Wilde, as SFC Chairman, had lost faith in the manager (Blame MW) as SLH Chairman he still had my support. (Lowe not admitting he was wrong) Wait and see

Wildgoose Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 It does sound to me as if JP may have lost the dressing room. For RL to say "AS OF NOW Jan has my full support" to me says that could well change after this morning. What happens is anyone's guess but it seems like things are getting worse before they'll get better......maybe a lot worse Life at SFC is becoming a Soap Opera.....

Badger Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 Does Wilde have final say over whether Poortvliet goes or not? Only if Rupert agrees with him.

dubai_phil Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 This could be funny. They (finally) sack JP today and appoint a new manager Then Fulthorpe waltz's in with his bid tomorrow (as he publicly stated in Hospitality on Saturday) and fires him so he can bring in the wonderfully experienced Shearer. Wow we could have 3 managers in one WEEK that would be a new record even for for us (irony winky thingy)

lordswoodsaints Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 he's going,he has to,there can be no other outcome......if there is we are doomed to relegation, unless of course the meeting is to tell JP that he will be given £10mil to spend. if he doesnt get the boot today then our season is over, season tickets holders will not renew until they know the outcome of the season (which will upset rupes) so he wil have to act.

saint lard Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 Surely JP's tenure is coming to an end, shame the same cannot be said of Lowe and Wilde and the rest of the cronies.

LostBoys Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 Lowe will do what he thinks is best for Lowe and as we know this may not be whats best for SFC as we have seen before with Pearson. Also this does not include jumping off the Itchen Bridge - please do not volunteer in your thousands to assist him at this point he will not turn up. Will Mr Wilde turn to this meeting - I suggest not. I am not convinced that he can sack Jan and remain as Chairman but no doubt Wupes has a cunning plan to extricate us from this self imposed pile of poo. I do not think anything from this meeting will allay the planned protest on 31st January 2009. Help

Golden Balls Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 If he's going to get rid of JP, now is the time to do it with the break. Cant see him doing it though...

slickmick Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 Also, I can't believe they gave the players two days off after a game in which they lost. They should have all been made to watch a recording of the game over and over again, that includes Jan. Perhaps they might start to see where there going wrong.

Toomer Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 I missed the report but Kevin James was on the phone to Lowe about 8.15 on Solent, with a weekend break could be the ideal time for a change.

Marsdinho Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 ....oh and anyone logging onto here or the OS looking for news of big changes and a new 'way forward' is going to be severely disappointed. There will just be some more rhetoric which will involve some hilarious claptrap from Jan about how we are possibly the best team in the division and even more hilarious garbage from Wupert saying how our youth policy is the envy of the whole league and if we stick at it we will come good and finish high up the table "....just look at Arsenal". he'll say, "they are sticking with youth and not splashing out in the transfer market, proof that my, sorry our, way is the correct way." He will also say the fans need to get behind the coach and the team and everyone is pulling in the right direction and it will come good. We will then continue to lose games hand over fist and get relegated long before the season is over. Next season Stockport County, Hereford United et al will be winning games easily at SMS and looking like bigger and better organised clubs than us. The future is bright, the future is rosy red cheeked and has brilliant business acumen. Couldnt have said it better myself...

Lets hope he does the honourable thing and resigns now, we cant afford to pay him off with the "Dowie" money?

Scummer Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 Just a thought, but maybe Hockaday is on gardening leave as he's fallen out with JP, then when JP is sacked he'll waltz back in as boss or in tandem with Boothroyd?

Saint Billy Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 To me this statement reads as if it is Lowe ,Jp and just the players in the meeting which would sound about the norm for Lowe. I don't know what he expects to acheive unless he is planning on removing himself as he is the route cause of all this sh*te. I have no great expectations of anything earth shattering coming out of today, just a load more spin and waffle.
