slickmick Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 So there we have it. The official line IS that we the fans are responsible. Teflon Lowe, through his PR plants (no doubt paid for out of SLH funds) is making sure the media know he is blameless. Expect a lot of stories in the press and TV along these lines. One reason why a boycott is not a good idea. Simply gives a good excuse to why we went into administration.
Frank's cousin Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Jeez.. come on guys be a bit more circumspect overall - What is this site if nothing but PR/propoganda for a particular fan view - sure here are some facts reported, but also one hell of a lot of bull and spin - so why do we feel affronted when the club do their bit? Surely we are old/intelligent/ugly enough to recognise these and mature enough to debate with them and keep the moral high ground by avoiding the immature slanging matches? I would like to hope so. Our arguments are worth nothing if we need to resort to ignorance and insult

If Rupert wants to put his point of view on here, he can register like the rest of us.

Look, I know what you are saying and to some extent I agree, but can you honestly say that some of the extreme 'campaigning' by very prominent posters and indeed teh 'bullying' tactics are not akin to PR? - Its certainly a lot stronger than banter.... So its alright for CRouch to use fans to spin his ideas, but not Lowe via a PR company? Sorry same thing to me. Just suggests crouch must be smarter as he's getting his for free! ;-)

Just suggests crouch must be smarter as he's getting his for free! ;-) I think it is actually GOOD that we get outside views onto here. It is also good that (most) people actually respond with solid and reasoned arguments. If these really ARE PR or Media people then one critical part of their function is to measure "hit rates" in order to show their client that they are receiving value for money (it's called ROI) Now many of us feel it immoral that they choose to hide, I personally would prefer them to come on and say High Im PRPLANT #468. But what we SHOULD be discussing, is not so much their presence on here but we should be DEMANDING that they correlate the responses and opinions and then REPORT THEM BACK. It should be two way - for many years we've complained that nobody seems to take account of the views of the fans and yet here we have a chance to send a clear and INTELLIGENT message back. I'm all for them but they MUST accept they have a duty to be a two way street
Window Cleaner Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 I honestly doubt that anyone pays anyone to post anything on this forum. Wade Garrett Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Agree, that is the way I see it too. To be fair, Rupert does have form on this. It wouldn't be the first time.
Nadia Sllim Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 google nineteen canteen. nineteen-canteen: In the Glasgow area nineteen-canteen means any undefined time in the distant past. He's had that motor since nineteen-canteen
Weston Saint Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 To be fair, Rupert does have form on this. It wouldn't be the first time. But he is not fighting an EGM this time. He already has the shareholders support. That is what is important to him running the club at this time. He knows he is ****ing off the supporters. His argument is that we do not have the money to do it differently. We do not agree with him but that is the least of his problems at present. Financially we are still looking over the abyse and we are losing our foothold.

I wonder how much longer he will have shareholders support for. We have him to thank for appointing an unproven, poor manager, and sacking another who was showing some promise. The shareholders have him to thank for reduced attendances and matchday revenue. Lowe's cabal obviously share the same jellyfish tendencies that Wilde has.

CanadaSaint Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Besides Nineteen, there are only two posters who have misspelt the word "hence" as "hense" on this site. One I have a lot of time for, and the other I don't know at all. Fascinating, just fascinating, but (most of) my money would be on Nineteen being a voice of Mr. Wilde - if he/she/it isn't an everyday fan.

Not a lot, some 125000 shares or so, but seeing as it's not the best time to be doing that it must be taken as a sign. Unless of course it's just an in-house transfer or something along those lines.

Nineteen may be long winded like Sundance but otherwise their styles seem different but I missed the bit that got deleted this morning, maybe that was classic Sundance.
Frank's cousin Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 To me Nineteen seemed VERY Rupert like in style... if it was by smome chance Him, fair play, but its time to encourage adult, mature debate no matter how frustrated fans may be.
Wes Tender Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Does he mean Jonathan, Lord Marland by any chance? Would-be chairman of the ECB? Or is that the John of Hedge End who toadied up to Lowe at the Saints Forum on Radio Solent a couple of years ago, who many mistakenly thought was Guided Missile? I wonder whether he and that idiot at the AGM were the same person...

I agree that it didn't appear like Sundance's style and I had plenty of experience of crossing swords with him; I almost miss him. If I had to guess as to an identity, I'd have imagined that one of Lowe's associates like Richards or Cowen would write in this style. It's certainly an educated and well expressed viewpoint, although very much biased along the lines that there is no viable alternative to Lowe in charge of the club and that nothing he has done could have been done better or differently by anybody else.

RoswellSaint Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Yay .. does this mean The PA Deal is back on Keep up, last week Larry Ellison emerged to block PA, with Steve Jobs really not ill but helping push the deal through. The latter I think was courtesy of your friend, DP.

Stax Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 My concern as well. I'm worried that the spirit has gone, the youngsters have been blooded too early & their progress set back, the transfer window wasted etc etc etc. That said, other teams have managed to turn things around, Forest are 5th in the 8 game Current Form Table and Doncaster 9th, so here's hoping. In the 6 game form guide Forest are 1st Doncaster are 10th Saints are 21st only Derby, Charlton and Watford are beneath us so hopefully those three go.

Derby,Charlton and Watford, three recently relegated teams. Strange that, do fans of relegated teams have trouble adjusting to their reduced status and put too much pressure on the team by expecting too much. All three have also recently changed managers.
um pahars Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 Derby,Charlton and Watford, three recently relegated teams. Strange that, do fans of relegated teams have trouble adjusting to their reduced status and put too much pressure on the team by expecting too much. All three have also recently changed managers. Although it would dispel the myth that we are the only set of fans who get on the players backs, I don't think the fans at these clubs shoud take the lions share of the blame. For me, the problem is twofold. Firstly, very often when teams are relegated they can often go into a downward spiral where losing becomes a habit. Of course some bounce back, but many others struggle to reassert themselves. Secondly, the fall out from relegation from the Premiwership is massive, particularly with reference too the finances. We went from circa 50m income to half that overnight!!!

Andrew Cowen ?? I don't think so,the construction is far too chaotic in places for a really educated man.. So you conclude that Mike Richards or Andrew Cowen have better things to do all day, but somehow an equally busy businessman such as Wilde doesn't? Unless his lifestyle has changed more recently, Richards spent a lot of his spare time in his hotel room in St. Peter's Port, Guernsey. Somebody also mentioned that Crouch had posted before under a pseudonym. Presumably he had nothing better to do also. Why are you so sure that Richards would use his own name? All that would achieve is lots on here taking him to task about what he has ever done for the club in return for his cheap shares. As for the really educated man bit, then it is possible to be well educated but not too hot on your writing style. For example, there are brilliant mathematicians out there whose thought processes when it comes to expressing themselves in writing are all over the place.
benjii Posted 21 January, 2009 Posted 21 January, 2009 I can confirm that some people from public school do not write impressively and further that supreme clarity of exposition in the written word is not a prerequisite for the holding of positions of executive power in small to medium sized companies.

EastleighSoulBoy Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 Yesterday's Daily Echo has a good item on P. 64 about Lord John Marland maybe getting involved in Cricket. What's more interesting is the online Echo report http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/search/4057779.Lord_Marland_in_cricket_chairmanship_bid/ In which the last two paragraphs quote him. Sounds very much like the Chairman of a local League football club. Twins?

SaintRichmond Posted 22 January, 2009 Posted 22 January, 2009 How much more Pathetic can Lowe get ??
