beatlesaint Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Fingers crossed for an away game as other plans will interfere with 10th. reckon you’ll be disappointed, nearly always home first match. I’m hoping for the same as you though.
Dusic Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Tough start.Hopefully start as in one game rather than a tough run to start. Its usually hard to recover once you are down at the bottom.
SW5 SAINT Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I didn’t think the tv scheduling was arranged until after the release of the fixtures.......
Appy Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 I didn’t think the tv scheduling was arranged until after the release of the fixtures....... First weekend is this year. These are 100% wrong.
SO16_Saint Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 followed by Liverpool at HOME and Brighton AWAY and Man Utd at HOME then Shef Utd AWAY
LGTL Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Bournemouth last away game, home AGAIN on the last day of the season. Chelsea away on Boxing Day, Spurs home NYD.
Noodles34 Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 pretty spread out in terms of toughness. Predictions for which game will secure our relegation. Away at Utd?
Scoobysaint Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Not too bad really. No runs of really tough games where you think where is the next point coming from!
eddie Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Happy with that fixture list actually. Good mix of home/away and top/bottom of the table. Only one back-to-back weekend against top 6 sides.
LGTL Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 End with Brighton home, Bournemouth away and Sheffield Utd home. Three nice games to confirm our European spot.
qwertyell Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Not winning at home until November. If it comes down to the last three games to stay up, that's not a bad set. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk
Kenilworthy Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 What fixtures are likely to be affected by the mid-season break?
mikec Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 End with Brighton home, Bournemouth away and Sheffield Utd home. Three nice games to confirm our European spot. Might not be easy if all 3 are battling for survival.
Badger Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 (edited) What fixtures are likely to be affected by the mid-season break? Burnley home, either 8th or 15th of February Edited 13 June, 2019 by Badger
so22saint Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 I dunno, if the wheels have really come off the Oli wagon maybe we can be in for a bit of decent 1996 style beating Man U action and then he’s sacked
mrfahaji Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Looks a decent fixture list for Southampton. Not so good for me as the away games I was hoping to attend this season aren't great timing.
disconnect Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 End with Brighton home, Bournemouth away and Sheffield Utd home. Three nice games to confirm our European spot. Good to be positive I suppose!
trousers Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 December looks like a good month for a change Was just about to post the same... about bloomin' time!
SKD Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Could be top 4 come end of September. Only game out of that lot I wouldn’t fancy us picking anything up in is victims home (who knows how they’ll start - will Mane and Salah be tired from ACON?) and Spurs away. That being said, most of them are away, so we could also easily be bottom!
Picard Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Liverpool play the UEFA Super Cup on Aug 14 in Turkey.
Sheaf Saint Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Not winning at home until November. That's a little pessimistic. We've got Bournemouth and Leicester before then, and I'd like to think we can be confident of beating at least one of them. And Chelsea without Hazard could be beatable too.
Lighthouse Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Not a bad start, tough but winnable away games mixed with unlikely but you never know home games. Good to get Utd at home early, before they sack OGS and get someone decent in. Liverpool will come immediately after a midweek European Super Cup game against Chelsea, which might be a small distraction. Decent looking end to the season, although April looks a bit rough.
Shroppie Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Three of our first four home games are Liverpool, ManU and Chelsea. Tough, but I'd say it's the best time to play them. It's not unusual for one or more if the big teams to have a slow start before they get into their stride. Way better than late on when they're fighting for every point. Shroppie Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 But we do need a good start against Burnley. Early three points to give confidence fir the tough home games. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk agreed, and all three of those big clubs have something which may work in our favour! hopefully Liverpool can have a tough game in Istanbul going all the way to penalties before coming to ours, United with OGS I expect to be slightly rubbish given their capitulation towards the end last season, and if Lampard is in charge of Chelsea then for him to be outfoxed by Ralph is my optimistic outlook! Burnley away will be tough tbh- think it will be a draw- though dependent on transfers etc there is still a long way to go before any predictions can be made.

Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk I’d much rather have a sh*tty start with those home games than do what we did under MoPe, p*ss away all our easy home fixtures early on and claim we were doing well because we were 8th in October. Not that I think Ralph would have us playing that badly but I always prefer to get the bad news first.

Didn't manage it for two games in the Cup last season, although hopefully a Ralph inspired pre-season will have us firing a lot better.
Sheaf Saint Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Didn't manage it for two games in the Cup last season, although hopefully a Ralph inspired pre-season will have us firing a lot better. Indeed. We had a largely depleted squad for both of those games, and Elyounoussi was on the pitch. Will be a different story with a few new signings and a fully fit squad after a RH pre-season.

Chez Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Liverpool play the UEFA Super Cup on Aug 14 in Turkey. good as time as any to be playing them straight after that longish trip. Burnely, Brighton, Manu and Liverpool in first four games. Feels like a good opportunity to lay a marker down for the season. If we can get results at those four confidence could be brimming...
ErwinK1961 Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Liverpool play the UEFA Super Cup on Aug 14 in Turkey. Imagine they’ll push the game to Sunday 4pm or even Monday to help them out.
the saint in winchester Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Imagine they’ll push the game to Sunday 4pm or even Monday to help them out. Or waive the game and just award Liverpool the 3 points.

Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk Yes it seems alot of fans look at the run in rather than how it begins .............suppose survival plans need to be taken into account given our recent past histories. But its an overall decent set of big uns and winnable ones .
Saint86 Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Our start is horrific. Even games like Leicester and Wolves will be problematic. And yet, in ralph we trust
Saint_clark Posted 13 June, 2019 Posted 13 June, 2019 Interesting to see how differently people interpret the fixtures, that looks a horrific start to me. Away to "lesser" sides who are tough to beat or riding high, home to one of the best sides in the world and then United who are always tough, away to Spurs, home to the team that are desperate to beat us at St Marys...someone said we could be top 4 by the end of september, I think it's more likely we'll be rock bottom!
St Marco Posted 14 June, 2019 Posted 14 June, 2019 The Norwich and Chelsea games will be on Amazon prime

JRM Posted 14 June, 2019 Posted 14 June, 2019 The Norwich and Chelsea games will be on Amazon prime Norwich at home on a Wednesday night in December live on the internet, they'll have to introduce a new even cheaper category of pricing for that one.
suewhistle Posted 14 June, 2019 Posted 14 June, 2019 Maybe that's when Ralph will offer ius a free beer again! #optimistic
hasper57saint Posted 14 June, 2019 Posted 14 June, 2019 Win against Burnley.Win against the Bin Dippers (as their Friend cant influence our legitimate claims now we have VAR) and it's onwards and upwards from that point on.I'm very optimistic for the season ahead.
