um pahars Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 Can anyone shed any light on this because the rumour mill is churning out that he may have been elbowed out??? The story goes that Hockaday is on gardening leave as a result of a decision by Lowe's "football advisor". Which brings me on to my next point about whether or not we have another Dutch bloke behind the scenes (and I'm not on about Gorre or Wotte)???? Did someone else on here mention that we have another Dutch fella working at the Club, if so who, why and when? A little birdy is telling me that we do indeed have a Dutch football advisor who reports directly to Lowe. What's the score with this fella, anyone confirm his name (Tim Van Der Witte or something???). This guy is normally on the money (but he has also got some stuff spectacularly wrong), so not 100% on this, but any contributions would be welcome.

Next thing he'll be spouting that Pearson cost more than him, Cowen, Wilde, Portaloo, Wotte, Gorre together... What a w@nker.

Or a public school acquantance Tim Nice but Van Dimme. Sorry not mocking, nothing would surprise me about any Lowe appointment.
sadoldgit Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 I though that they had brought in another (English) coach?

Could turn out to be as reliable as him seeing Houlier in reception when we were looking a manager!!!!!
lordswoodsaints Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 I heard it was David van Dein. i loved that song he did in the jungle......biff baff boff or something like that :-)
Weston Super Saint Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 What we need is some pictures of ear lobes
Saint Ian Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 Um - I sit down by the Saints bench, and can confirm that Hockaday was definitely NOT on there at Saturday's game. Haven't heard about Lowe's "football advisor" though!
boxosponge Posted 19 January, 2009 Posted 19 January, 2009 Perhaps Hockaday was with the Under 18's who were thrashed 4-1 away at West Ham on Saturday?

The Godfather Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 So my source was correct on this one then. Time for a new thread to see if we d indeed have a new Football Advisor in town. Yes he's called Rupert 'johann cruff' Lowe and he will be officially announced as JP's direct replacement today.

yorkie Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 I bet Hockaway challenged our coaching system. Let's face it you don't bite the hand tjhat feeds at SFC!
Ricky Redstripe Posted 20 January, 2009 Posted 20 January, 2009 There is someone in the directors box every game in the front row, next to where Lowe sits, I thought he was Poortvliet's brother because he looks like him. Perhaps this is the Dutch advisor to Lowe?
liquidsnake Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Dave Hockaday (and Geraldine Hockaday, I'm assuming his wife?) were guests of the Watford directors at Vicarage Road on Saturday, where they watched Watford v Crystal Palace in the FA Cup. I'm not saying this has any relevance to anything, just passing on the info!
um pahars Posted 25 January, 2009 Author Posted 25 January, 2009 Did I miss anything on the OS about Hockaday getting the boot????? Or are we being kept in the dark about that one as well!!!! Webster Hockaday Van Der Waals
aintforever Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Can anyone confirm if Hockaday is still around?
ladysaint Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Steve you should realise by now that we are only fans/customers and not entitled to be told what is happening at our club.

I'm not saying this has any relevance to anything, just passing on the info! He was first team coach at Watford a few years ago.
derry Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 There was a statement somewhere that he was on gardening leave.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 There was a statement somewhere that he was on gardening leave. Has anyone said why Hockaday is on gardening leave? and this new advisor to Lowe (who's behaviour has upset the Charlton and Palace boardrooms) has he been unveiled officially - or is he to remain the mystery man?

Meaning? Can't find another thread on this.
ladysaint Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Think you need to read the Kim thread to understand it.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Meaning? Can't find another thread on this. Didn't "act the way one should" in a board room .......allegedly.

I've looked in the OS archive and can't find anything, it was in the Echo, just the bare facts, as for van de Waals, there has been nothing, the only unmasking was on here. Funny business and no joke, you really couldn't make it up.
SoccerMom Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Didn't "act the way one should" in a board room .......allegedly. Ah, I see. Behaviour referred to on the other thread extended to boardrooms??? Sheesh - I thought that kind of stuff went out in the eighties. Oh, yeah, forgot, Lowe is Thatcherite to the core. Probably still impresses him.:mad:

Obviously can't be unveiled as new coach/assistant manager at Watford until his notice has been served at Southampton. Pushed or gone for more money - who knows
