spyinthesky Posted 12 May, 2019 Share Posted 12 May, 2019 May as well throw the ball straight to opponents. We never seem to have any idea what to do with the ball from throw ins!!. This has been going on all season. Quite separately we had a decent attack in the first half and the ball went across to Shane Long via a defender but our Shane was given offside. I assumed that if the last touch was via a defender this played the receiving player onside. Am I wrong?
John Boy Saint Posted 12 May, 2019 Share Posted 12 May, 2019 I expect at least 4 players capable of throwing in the ball capably at least as far as the centre spot from the sideline next season.
Bad Wolf Posted 12 May, 2019 Share Posted 12 May, 2019 This has been going on since Delap left and even then we didn't see the best of him. I've supported Saints for 15 years now and we've never been any good at throwing throw ins. 15 years isn't really a long time compared to a lot of you so can someone please tell me if and when we were EVER good at throw ins? Kingsland Codger Posted 12 May, 2019 Share Posted 12 May, 2019 Antonio could launch a mean long throw. Our second goal in the JPT final was from one of his specials.
DuncanRG Posted 12 May, 2019 Share Posted 12 May, 2019 Don't Liverpool have a throw-in coach? Swap deal with Ings imo
eurosaint Posted 13 May, 2019 Share Posted 13 May, 2019 Most of the time it's not actually the thrower who is the problem, it's the lack of movement needed to receive it ! Something else to work on for next season
angelman Posted 13 May, 2019 Share Posted 13 May, 2019 Don't Liverpool have a throw-in coach? Swap deal with Ings imo Yes, I think that they might do. Read presumably that article some weeks ago. As there are something like 50 throw ins a game, it is an area that they decided needed working on. We DEFINITELY need to work on ours!!! It's been noticeably **** for years. spyinthesky Posted 13 May, 2019 Author Share Posted 13 May, 2019 Apparently Liverpool have 17 different throw in plans versus ours of one ie give the ball to our opponents!!
