Cabbage_Face Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Would've taken a point beforehand. Whatever really. Annoyingly Cedric would've won that for us.
Mr X Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 2 points lost, why was his hand raised at all crazy
Batman Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 would have snatched a point at the start of the game but when you are 30 seconds from full time, leading...that is 2 points dropped Another late goal conceded. but a good point given we were without, Ings (for most of the game), Bertrand, Hoj, Lemina be a good point if Cardiff lose.
striker Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Long gave the ball away like 3 times in the last 2 minutes. Way to easy
Edmonton Saint Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Be nice if McCarthy had even tried with that penalty.. but stupid from Stephens he should know better.
Heisenberg Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Blew a fantastic opportunity hope that doesnt cost us. Foolish from JS
badgerx16 Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 2 points lost, why was his hand raised at all crazy Might have been a reflex reaction to Couchie leaning all over him.
SKD Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Jack Stephens is still sh!t then. Not a PL player, never has been.
Toadhall Saint Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 I’ll take the point but it feels like a loss.
BotleySaint Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 2 games against rivals both draws. We needed to win at least one of them. .
supersonic Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 another pathetic attempt to hold on to a lead. We're going down.
obelisk Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Do our 'keepers do any work at all on penalties?
striker Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Well the good news is that every other result went our way
Lighthouse Posted 2 February, 2019 Author Posted 2 February, 2019 Stephens isn't a scapegoat but he is a f**king idiot. Every game he seems to do something ridiculous and drop us in it.
OttawaSaint Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Ffs Stephens. ****ed away a 2pts with seconds left. ****!
James Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Stephens has been a liability for ages. Not good enough for where we want to go. Idiot.
Bad Wolf Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Fair result. They should have had a penalty earlier.
Secret Site Agent Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 I'll live with it Would have taken a point before the game Bloody annoying though, and can't help feel the ref was looking for this.
trousers Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Crouch all over the back of Stephens but the ref was always going to turn a blind eye to that after not giving the first half penalty shout. Draw probably the fair result but still gutting to lose in that fashion. Still unbeaten in 2019
Ohio Saint Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 That was not deliberate. Years ago it would have been OK. Oh well Still a decent result.
Bad Wolf Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Stephens has been a liability for ages. Not good enough for where we want to go. Idiot. He's about the same ability as Hoedt but because we've had him since he was a kid and he's English, he's still "one for the future". Nowhere near PL standard.
Avenue_Saint Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Stephens isn't a scapegoat but he is a f**king idiot. Every game he seems to do something ridiculous and drop us in it. This. Nearly conceded earlier sleeping while Barnes got goal side and hit bar. The epitomy of a ****ING LIABILITY
Batman Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Do our 'keepers do any work at all on penalties? he obviously gambled on the player hitting it down the middle
shurlock Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Crouch climbing all over Stephens - that's why his arm was where it was.
striker Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Honestly Burnley could have scored 3 or 4. We scored on pretty much our only shot. I'll take the point
Saints foreva Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Laughable that someone as ****e as Jack Stephens has been a regular for the last two years. Absolute trash player. Costs us more than he wins us.
Sheaf Saint Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Would have taken a draw at HT as we were very poor in the first half. Scored a good goal but still didn't create much at all. Burnley had by far the most of the play in the second half, mostly due to Shane Long's total inability to keep possession of the ball every time it was played up to him. They should have had a pen in the first half, and hit the woodwork, so it's no more than they deserve. Shame we couldn't hold on to that lead for another 30 secs, but it would have been a very undeserved win anyway if we had. Another point against a well organised team - another step closer to safety - especially if Cardiff lose later on. Not great, but not a disaster either.
OttawaSaint Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Excruciating. Would have been a great result, now it feels like we lost. ****s!
trousers Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Keown saying Stephens was fouled and penalty shouldn't have been given. All about opinions I guess.
davefizzy14 Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Look at the idiots on here blaming Jack, oh my god! Ref was always looking to level it up and I bet Crouch had his arms all over him too. A point is a good result, we deserved more though mind! COYR
bpsaint Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Gutting result, stupid from Stephens with the handball but as I said in the match thread the ref would have been itching to give that. Would have taken it pre match but ****ing hell does that feel like a punch in the gut.
Cabbage_Face Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Keown has a point, it's a foul before the handball. Real question, why is Stephens marking him?
Katalinic Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Stephens isn't a scapegoat but he is a f**king idiot. Every game he seems to do something ridiculous and drop us in it. Yep. Simply not good enough at this level.
AdrianC Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Sat too deep and invited pressure in the last twenty minutes. Asking for trouble. I have no idea why we can't go and close a game out instead of hanging on and trying to defend. All through the game the commentators were banging on about the lack of penalties Burnley have had so it was kind of inevitable. Soft penalty though. It came off his head onto his arm.
davefizzy14 Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Keown saying Stephens was fouled and penalty shouldn't have been given. All about opinions I guess. That says it all really!!
Baird of the land Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Annoying last minute penalty. Think Stephens is being fouled which is why he has his hand up. However they should of had a penalty in first half. Didn’t understand why long didn’t want to run the ball into the corner a minute earlier though. Slattery was good I thought. Redmond excellent against. Defense was largely good. Armstrong had one of those games where he was trying too hard to impress.
DSJH93 Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Saints deserve it - what was fringe players at best now 2 years ago now first team. Stephens laughable really
saintquin Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Would have taken that before so not too unhappy and 5 unbeaten. Any point away from home is a good point for most teams in this league!
Shanghai Saint Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Stephens is, was and always will be a ****
St Marco Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Thought we were poor again to be honest and had a lot of help from the ref again. I kind of feel sorry for Stephens there as he didn't mean to handball it. But if your arms are up and it touches your hand its going to get given. I felt Burnley were the better side, passed better, had better chances, seemed to want it more. We lacked that intensity we have seen in previous games. At the start of the day I would have taken a draw as Burnley are a bastard side to play. Sad to see Ings injured again, hopefully not too bad. If it is Long and Austin are going to have to step up big time.
