ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 December, 2019 Posted 1 December, 2019 Rodgers is doing an unbelievable job. I said countless times that Leicester had a great squad and had completely underwhelmed with the ex manager but I didn't expect quite the almost immediate turn around that Brendan has delivered. When you consider they lost Maguire in the summer too.... Task now is to keep him with Spurs and now Arsenal already sniffing around I miss the days when Rodgers was a "no thanks" from the SWF experts I miss the days when certain fools said we should have got Silva, great times:D
SNSUN Posted 1 December, 2019 Posted 1 December, 2019 Teams just above us winning. could it be one of those seasons where 'safety' is never quite within our grasp...
GDog07 Posted 1 December, 2019 Posted 1 December, 2019 Proper sods law. Pick up a win to close the gap on 17th and above. Today everyone sitting above us intent on picking up three points themselves against teams you'd have hoped would have meant they'd struggle to pick up points today. Nothing is ever easy! Everton 1-0 Villa 1-0
Lighthouse Posted 1 December, 2019 Posted 1 December, 2019 I think Everton have the quality in their squad to underperform and still end up mid table, so I’m not too bothered about them. Norwich and Villa not winning are the important games. All change in the last 3 minutes anyway.
whelk Posted 1 December, 2019 Posted 1 December, 2019 And a lovely weekend for Liverpool with all teams directly below dropping points
OttawaSaint Posted 1 December, 2019 Posted 1 December, 2019 Bloody hell come on Leicester! Got Vardy and Maddison on FPL, too fad they just missed combining for a winner. Still time!
DT Posted 1 December, 2019 Posted 1 December, 2019 Good for us, that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saint Pete Posted 1 December, 2019 Posted 1 December, 2019 So cruel on Everton that. But good for us [emoji3] Sent from my moto g(7) play using Tapatalk
Heisenberg Posted 1 December, 2019 Posted 1 December, 2019 Lovely jubly. Var has been our friend this weekend Brendan Rodgers
GDog07 Posted 1 December, 2019 Posted 1 December, 2019 Turned out to be a productive weekend, hopefully we can make it a productive week come Wedensday!
DT Posted 1 December, 2019 Posted 1 December, 2019 Everton pretty unlucky. Played well. In touching distance of us though Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
davefizzy14 Posted 1 December, 2019 Posted 1 December, 2019 Get in! Glad Leicester beat Everton. Keeps them in near touch now of us
badgerx16 Posted 1 December, 2019 Posted 1 December, 2019 If somebody at the start of the season had offered us to be 6 points behind Man Utd after 14 matches, who would have taken it ?
OttawaSaint Posted 1 December, 2019 Posted 1 December, 2019 Too bad Villa and Norwich got a point a piece but a decent weekend in the end.
OttawaSaint Posted 1 December, 2019 Posted 1 December, 2019 If somebody at the start of the season had offered us to be 6 points behind Man Utd after 14 matches, who would have taken it ? Ings with the same number of league goals as Harry Kane too.
Heisenberg Posted 3 December, 2019 Posted 3 December, 2019 AFCB getting sucked into the relegation fight 1 win in 9 now and Liverpool (home) Chelsea (away) next for them
RedWillie Posted 3 December, 2019 Posted 3 December, 2019 AFCB getting sucked into the relegation fight 1 win in 9 now and Liverpool (home) Chelsea (away) next for them Watching on tv, the guy said they have only won 7 games in 30 this year. Sounds a bit familiar
austsaint Posted 4 December, 2019 Posted 4 December, 2019 Get in! Glad Leicester beat Everton. Keeps them in near touch now of us I just can't see Everton being one of the three going down. After tonight, a Club like Bournmouth are becoming a more likely team Saints can get past.
John Boy Saint Posted 4 December, 2019 Posted 4 December, 2019 Watching on tv, the guy said they have only won 7 games in 30 this year. Sounds a bit familiar Not being able to grind out a result against 10 men for 70 minutes away in London sounds familiar too.
saintwbu Posted 4 December, 2019 Posted 4 December, 2019 Bournemouth are absolute crap - testament to how bad this league has become that they are lauded every year. Will be an absolute travesty if we manage to get relegated from it.
Batman Posted 4 December, 2019 Author Posted 4 December, 2019 Bournemouth are absolute crap - testament to how bad this league has become that they are lauded every year. Will be an absolute travesty if we manage to get relegated from it. You do know how bad we are?
bpsaint Posted 4 December, 2019 Posted 4 December, 2019 If this run Bournemouth are having carries on you wonder how soon before they hit the panic button and Eddie gets the chop. Regardless of his stature down there the threat of losing out on the riches of the Premier League will take priority over loyalty to Howe, particularly to a club paying the likes of Jermaine Defoe £100k a week. Perhaps Harry will return to his spiritual home and financially ruin them...
Baird of the land Posted 4 December, 2019 Posted 4 December, 2019 Bournemouth reminded me of us versus 10 men Spurs, slow possession but nothing incisive. King is an important player for them to be missing though and solanke is a carrillo bad replacement. They'll probably pick me up and have another run of wins.
saintwbu Posted 4 December, 2019 Posted 4 December, 2019 You do know how bad we are? Well aware, given I put myself through watching us most weeks for some reason. My point being, a team that regularly ventures into the top half of the table are absolutely rubbish, so it’ll make it even more criminal for us to get relegated from this **** poor league. But it’s possible, given that we are doing quite a good job of heading towards it.
tajjuk Posted 5 December, 2019 Posted 5 December, 2019 More favourable treatment for LiVARpool, Robertson elbows Davies in the head and gets away it, TAA stamps on Richarlison and gets away with it, Van Dijk commits a clear penalty and gets away with it. Penalty was at 2-1 as well.

Penalty was at 2-1 as well. Probably for the best. Can you imagine the amount of whining and appealing Liverpool would be doing if/when VAR starts to impact them in anyway. I'm resigned to them winning the league now. They simply look too strong this season. Decent sized insurance bet naturally helps + avoiding SKY's daily Liverpool w4nk fest also helps

I can only hope that some European team will give them a tonking without the help from British coverage and officials.
shurlock Posted 5 December, 2019 Posted 5 December, 2019 The footballing messiah (to some at least) that is Marco Silva has got the sack.
CB Fry Posted 5 December, 2019 Posted 5 December, 2019 The footballing messiah (to some at least) that is Marco Silva has got the sack.Like many managers, he found it very difficult to balance his Premier League campaign alongside the additional demands of playing in the Champions League, which Everton definitely qualified for.
Suhari Posted 5 December, 2019 Posted 5 December, 2019 Like many managers, he found it very difficult to balance his Premier League campaign alongside the additional demands of playing in the Champions League, which Everton definitely qualified for. Yep. And that glass ceiling makes it all the more difficult. #dugouts

whelk Posted 5 December, 2019 Posted 5 December, 2019 Clive Tyldesley has found some work at Amazon then.
whelk Posted 5 December, 2019 Posted 5 December, 2019 Hope Everton go for Moyes as think he will be crap. Although would prefer Unsworth of course

tajjuk Posted 5 December, 2019 Posted 5 December, 2019 Newcastle won but wow they were negative and depressive to watch, they pretty much had all 11 players in their own third for most of the game, I would be appalled if we did that against a promoted team, they treated Sheff Utd like Barcelona.
saint97 Posted 5 December, 2019 Posted 5 December, 2019 Brighton looked so much more solid that we did at the emirates. Were very impressive tonight
Micky Posted 5 December, 2019 Posted 5 December, 2019 Could've done with the opposites of tonight's results but guess we can't have it all. Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk

Dusic Posted 5 December, 2019 Posted 5 December, 2019 Brighton looked so much more solid that we did at the emirates. Were very impressive tonightBrighton good. The one massive difference between them and us is that their CBs and CMs can control and pass the ball. Especially at the back their passing is so much higher quality than ours. They won't be going down.
austsaint Posted 5 December, 2019 Posted 5 December, 2019 Brighton looked so much more solid that we did at the emirates. Were very impressive tonight What impressed me with Brighton is the way they continued to attack Arsenal after conceding - they never retreated into deep defence - something Saints often do....even as recently as Wednesday night. Mooy is such a creative mid-fielder and the run of Connolly, Daupay and Trossard looked impressive.

Sent from my SM-T590 using Tapatalk Still think Sheff United will be in the relegation mix up come the end of the season. Some promoted sides take a while to get sussed out by the rest of the league (remember Hull a few seasons back) and i think that may be the case with them. They could struggle for goals relying on the likes of Mousset, McGoldrink and Sharp
