CB Fry Posted 2 February, 2019 Share Posted 2 February, 2019 I remember that around this time last year there was an absolutely glowing BBC profile and fawning interview with Carlos Carvahal and his working methods which had lead to a remarkable turnaround at Swansea. BARCELONASAINT Posted 2 February, 2019 Share Posted 2 February, 2019 why don't some of you just grow up and stop acting like spoilt kids. Anyone with any sense knew we were not ever going to spend millions AGAIN after the last 2 disastrous transfer windows and that we badly needed to get rid of players before buying. Its January and has been one of the quietest Januarys for transfers. Clubs are now not taking risks and choosing to loan with maybe the option to buy at the end. For Saints that crap because we need to sell to be able to spend.....but at least we are saving a fortune on wages. Do you honestly thing RH was not 100% aware of these issues when he joined? The club have made some huge mistakes in the last 2 managers and some of the signings made.....it's time to rebuild and ship out. Maybe some of the fans need shipping out as well. Lighthouse Posted 2 February, 2019 Share Posted 2 February, 2019 ^ careful comparing us or discussing similarities to Swansea upsets people More wilful misunderstanding here; it was your fictional account of Swansea winning 5 games before the end of transfer window (they won 3), assuming they were safe (they were 19th) signing nobody (they spent a fair bit on Ayew) loaning out a bunch of players (they were mainly kids who weren’t getting in the team) and complacently sliding into the drop zone (they were in it already) which we can all live without. Didn't say the 5 wins were before the window Didn't say they didn't spend or sign nobody. Said they added little (1 player) They were 16th like us just after the window closes. It's this kinda optimism (or arrogance) that cost Swansea last year. In fact the parallels are frightening. Carvalhal came in and over the next few games they beat Liverpool, Arsenal, Watford, Burnley and WHU. He had the team scoring goals and everyone said he was the messiah. Jan then comes and goes and Swansea are confident enough to release a few, loan out a few and add very little...... They then lose 7 and draw 4 of the remaining 13 and are relegated..... You probably won’t even contemplate admitting it to yourself - and please don’t bother wasting your and others’ time countering as I couldn’t give a flying **** what you think - but your pathetic repetitive trolling behaviour is one of the main reasons people abandon this forum. Still, you’re king of your own little empire where you’re never wrong, which must make you very happy.

Bad Wolf Posted 2 February, 2019 Share Posted 2 February, 2019 Came across great. I didn't see it but I do have a bit of a crush on him in general. Even if he wasn't our manager, there's something very likable about him (I mean other than what he's done with us). He's got the "innocent dreamer" of Nigel Adkins, the philosophy of Poch and the refreshing honesty (about the job at hand, ignoring the way he left) that Koeman brought. He's like the three of them rolled into one.
