Matthew Le God Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 if it was 3 at the back, then surely JWP would have been in the place where Valery was in the picture shown here^^ simply my reasoning behind why it could be 4 at the back The media team isn't informed of formations by the manager... they guess!
shurlock Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 RH’s really working wonders with subpar material. Objectively, anyone at the start of the season would have raised an eyebrow at that side.
Batman Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Care to share any proof you have on this , pretty sure you have none [emoji2958] do you really believe Cedric went with the intention of going till the end of the season with Varley as our ONLY recognised RB?
Ken Tone Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Ward-Prowse was right wing back at the end of the game on Wednesday. So today probably 3-5-2 or 3-4-2-1 i also thought JWP ended the game at RWB, in a rather lopsided 3-5-2, but Hasenhutl himself said on Solent that we moved to a 4-2-2-2, so maybe that's what he intends for today. It's not a formation I understand well to be honest, but I think that puts JWP wide midfield.
LGTL Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Let’s be honest, RH is a ****ing genius. How he’s getting what he is out of that squad is a miracle. Btw, it’s ****ing freezing in Burnley, up the Saints.
Greenridge Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Care to share any proof you have on this , pretty sure you have none [emoji2958] It’s not an unreasonable interpretation of events.
nta786 Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 The media team isn't informed of formations by the manager... they guess! just like we are then! burnley's media team show their formation clear as day below!
Heisenberg Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 What odds on Crouch scoring winner with few mins left?
Saint IQ Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Slattery looked very elegant on the ball when he came on midweek. Moves the ball quickly with precision. Will be a good player I reckon. with JWP Hojberg Reed and him the future looks bright in centre mid for us ATM.
Saint Pete Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Shame about Hojbjerg, must be injured. First PL start for Calum Slattery. Good luck to him! Pretty sure we will start with 3 at the back as normal, with JWP at wing back.
Bad Wolf Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Whenever Hoj isn't in the team, my brain has just trained itself to assume he's suspended

DuncanRG Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 ... Bet he's not getting the rail replacement bus to Preston.
VectisSaint Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Hojbjerg head injury (from Palace game), Ralph said he was a doubt in the press conference. Can't believe people are surprised by his omission. Interesting to see how the team is set up, either 4 at the back with Stephens or Bednarek at RB (more likely Stephens) or 3 at the back with JWP or Slattery playing RWB. Good to see Sims on the bench, didn't he score or come close against Burnley last season? Surprised Charlie gets the nod over Gallagher. Not confident of a result today, going for 1-1, a draw would be positive for me.
Batman Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 I am surprised that people are surprised that Austin is on the bench over Gallagher
Wurzel Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 What odds on Crouch scoring winner with few mins left? You're asking us? Surely you already have a cheeky insurance bet on just that eventuality .
trousers Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 I'm surprised that people are surprised that people are surprised that Austin is on the bench over Gallagher
shurlock Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Goa can't get enough of that passion. #hooked
captainchris Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 I am surprised that people are surprised that Austin is on the bench over Gallagher Have to agree there... Worrying without Hodj but hey we had him against Palace and struggled so positive thinking....
Jonnyboy Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 I'm surprised that people are surprised that people are surprised that Austin is on the bench over Gallagher I'm surprised that people are surprised that people are surprised that people are surprised that Austin is on the bench over Gallagher. PS - Anyone got any good streams?
Bad Wolf Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 I'm surprised that people are surprised that people are surprised that Austin is on the bench over Gallagher Surely no one is?
egg Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Think we'll line up 4222. Slattery in the 2 behind the strikers. Gonna be a tough game though, a point would be a decent outcome.

under the west stand Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 This usually works well for me: http://www.myfeed4u.net/watch/2926540/2/Burnley-vs-Southampton.html
Heisenberg Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 When you look at that starting 11 and bench you suddenly realise how difficult the January window is/was Would be very very difficult to improve that
egg Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Slattery is defence minded isn't he? He was always a 10 but last year or so he's been pushed deeper. His natural game is definitely attack minded.
teamsaint Posted 2 February, 2019 Posted 2 February, 2019 Encouraging, in an odd way, that RH keeping some sort of faith in Mo. He must be seeing something in him.
