tisspahars Posted 30 January, 2019 Share Posted 30 January, 2019 We are currently a point behind Burnley, albeit with a game in hand. Burnley are 3.5 (5/2 in old money) to be relegated on the Betfair market, whilst we are 13.5! Now I'm as firmly on King Ralph's train as anybody, but that's just crazy isn't it? Unbelievable Jeff Posted 30 January, 2019 Share Posted 30 January, 2019 12/1 on Skybet. Nice insurance bet there - although may be worth waiting until after tonight's game.
Cabbage_Face Posted 30 January, 2019 Share Posted 30 January, 2019 Considering we comfortably beat two mid table premier league sides, Drew with Chelsea away and Beat Arsenal. I'd say those odd's are probably correct.
tisspahars Posted 30 January, 2019 Author Share Posted 30 January, 2019 It's not so much our price I see as being wrong, more the disparity with Burnley's price. I guess therefore I'm saying Burnley should surely be a lot bigger than they are, rather than us shorter if you get my drift.
Chez Posted 30 January, 2019 Share Posted 30 January, 2019 this thread reminds me of all those posters that revealed they had backed Saints to be relegated last season at tremendously good odds.

egg Posted 30 January, 2019 Share Posted 30 January, 2019 No fan should bet against their team, ever. That said, I'm not as optimistic as the bookies.
Saint Troy Posted 30 January, 2019 Share Posted 30 January, 2019 i dont mind a bet on a 0-0 at the game - get some of your ticket back if its rubbish. Did it once when an own goal went in very ealry and absolutely nothing else happened all game so its not flawless haha

You'd still win even if the score is 1-0 if the goal comes from an own goal. The odds are (almost) always the same.

I guess therefore I'm saying Burnley should surely be a lot bigger than they are, rather than us shorter if you get my drift. At a guess I'd say its because we have changed manager and had an upturn of fortunes, Burnley have not changed their manager, so are more likely to slip back into poor form/bad ways than us. Bad Wolf Posted 30 January, 2019 Share Posted 30 January, 2019 I would have put it about 8 or 9. 12 is very generous. I reckon Huddersfield are goners. Fulham have got the attacking players so have a good run in them so I don't think they're quite down just yet.
Saint86 Posted 30 January, 2019 Share Posted 30 January, 2019 (edited) No fan should bet against their team, ever. That said, I'm not as optimistic as the bookies. If you can't make money betting on the team you know the most about, why bet on any othes. I made a tidy sum betting on relegation under mope and then cashed out under Hughes before betting on us vs Swansea... Saints fans know the team better than the book makers, use it.
