Tamesaint Posted 27 January, 2019 Share Posted 27 January, 2019 After Spurs at home on 9 March we are due to play Watford on 16 th. There is then a 2 week international break until 30 March. Watford are still in the Fa cup and if they win their 5th round match our game with them will be rearranged. We will thus have a 3 week gap in our season. I can never remember such a long break in previous seasons. Will it be a good thing for us or a bad thing ? Will it matter ???

John Boy Saint Posted 27 January, 2019 Share Posted 27 January, 2019 2016-17 Puel season- I swear we only had like 2 games in 7 weeks or something :/ then they all got rearranged for end of season Think that was no home game for a month or so due to the West Ham Home and away being switched due to Athletics at the taxi payer arena. Best get the garden tools sharpened and golf clubs polished to make good use of the likely spare time.
Pamplemousse Posted 27 January, 2019 Share Posted 27 January, 2019 Another point - the TV games for March were announced and we're not on at all, so lots of Saturday 3pm kick offs - Man Utd away and Spurs at home the highlights. As the OP points out, the Watford away game could move to a midweek date if they make it through in the FA Cup.
Lets B Avenue Posted 27 January, 2019 Share Posted 27 January, 2019 They moved the 6th rd back a week last season. As we were in it we didn't get the 3 week gap that sides due to be playing the likes of Chelsea, ManU and Spurs got. West Ham were one of those as when they dic ked us 3-0, they hadn't played since the Burnley home game , when their fans invaded the pitch and tried to attack the Porn Twins. We were hoping to get that going again, but were so sh it they all fell in love with the club again. Unlike last night.
Eric The Red Posted 27 January, 2019 Share Posted 27 January, 2019 In 2016/17 we had 8 weeks without a home game from early Feb to 1st April and in that time we had one gap of 3 weeks between Sunderland and Watford away and two more gaps of c 2 weeks. From 1 April to 21 May we had to play 11 league games to catch up on all those that got postponed because of our League Cup final appearance and other teams' FA cup runs. Happy with that though, means Brighton away stays Saturday 3pm too. Edited 28 January, 2019 by LGTL
