Mr X Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Poll please - what would you prefer at H/T? 11 men with 1 goal lead? 10 men with 2 goal lead? Tough one. definitely the former 2 nil seems to be our curse of a scoreline how many times have we surrendered a two nil lead now!!!
Placey Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Great response after the red card! It will be very difficult to watch. I hope they have all worked on solid, no bull****, kick it up field defending in training this week! COYR!
St Chalet Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 definitely the former 2 nil seems to be our curse of a scoreline how many times have we surrendered a two nil lead now!!! Apart from the last game we played?
OttawaSaint Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 So how do we line up for the 2nd? Back 4 or withdraw Armstrong for Cedric, or something else?
DG Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 I wouldn't feel confident with 12 men and a 3-0 lead And 5mins left.
SuperSAINT Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Imagine they will bring Barnes on who has been mustard for WBA.
SuperSAINT Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 You mean the guy who won the penalty and scored a goal? That guy? Precious
benjii Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 So how do we line up for the 2nd? Back 4 or withdraw Armstrong for Cedric, or something else? I'd keep the back shape and so do exactly that. Vestergaard and Bednarek both look much more comfortable in a back 3.
qwertyell Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Well that was a wild ride. Thought we were pretty decent in the main. The defence is still an accident waiting to happen, but it is what it is. Valery was actually having one of his best games - he really unsettled a damned good left back in Chilwell. But he seems to play in a daze, completely disconnected from the flow of the game, only ever reacting to what's going on when the ball comes near him and he remembers that he's actually playing. God knows how we're going to try and play this in the second half. Maybe thank Long for his freakishly rare contribution, replacing him with Cedric and try and break with Reds and Armstrong? Plastic Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 So how do we line up for the 2nd? Back 4 or withdraw Armstrong for Cedric, or something else? No way, Armstrong has been great. Valery was basically playing as a winger anyway, does very little in defence, so just move the midfield back a bit and play dull punt-ball to long for 20 mins before changing.
davefizzy14 Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Could move Prowesy to right wing back and Armstrong back into CM alongside Romeu.
eelpie Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Well, interesting 2nd half ahead..... If we hold out put Long on the TSW masthead. Because if we lose, the way it's going we could end up second from bottom.
nta786 Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 my stream is 2 mins behind but I have SSN on too and Charlie Nicholas shouted the second time I feared the worst!!! then it shows us as 2-0 up and literally thinking what the fudge. i'd keep it as it is tbh- change stephens to right back and lets play a 4221 although jannik and bendarek have shone in a back3- if we stay same formation then cedric for armstrong i say.
Micky Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Put a cheeky bet on that Saints would go down to ten men in the first half and that JWP and Long would score. 2500000/1, stuck a monkey on it. Also placed an insurance bet that Leicester win.You learn fast sir...! [emoji28] Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk
RedArmy Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Leicester are 7/1. Just putting that out there before dinlo claims he put £500 on them at 25/1.
Wes Tender Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 We've played well, but Valery has dumped us in it with his impetuousness. A backs against the wall performance will be required in the second half, but the two goal cushion means that Leicester need to score three without response to deny us a point at least. But Long having scored his first goal in living memory, his confidence will be sky high and he will score a hat trick.
OttawaSaint Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Thought we were excellent in that first half. Going to be a tough second. Hope we can hold on.
badgerx16 Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 So how do we line up for the 2nd? Back 4 or withdraw Armstrong for Cedric, or something else? I'd swap armstrong for Cedric, we look more solid with 3 CBs, and we will be under the cosh for the 2nd half. Use Long and Redmond on the break.
aintforever Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 I would keep Long on, take Armstrong off for Cedric or just go with a back 4.
Manuel Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Valery was actually having one of his best games - he really unsettled a damned good left back in Chilwell. But he seems to play in a daze, completely disconnected from the flow of the game, only ever reacting to what's going on when the ball comes near him and he remembers that he's actually playing. He has a very casual demeanour about him.
doddisalegend Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Blimey what a a first half. Massive 45 coming up for us can we hold on with a man down? COYS Sent from my moto g(6) using Tapatalk
OttawaSaint Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Looks like JWP is right wing back. Armstrong deeper.
davefizzy14 Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Looks like JWP is right wing back. Armstrong deeper. Look like i was right
benjii Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 JWP gone to wing back according to Merrington.
OttawaSaint Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Look like i was right Kudos. Although Armstrong was furthest toward just now.
Cabbage_Face Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Gray will destroy JWP 7/1 Leicester win. NOW
OttawaSaint Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 **** my pants when that ball got deflected.
Dalek2003 Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Oh well, buckle up everyone for a Saints white knuckle ride!
St Chalet Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Not sure about JWP in at right back. We are light in the middle now, even with Redmond and Armstrong tucking in.
GarrettIvo Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 The fun part of these experiences is always seeing just how we'll **** it up. I am strapped in.
OttawaSaint Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 This is our speciality. We’ll hang on until we really start to believe and the ship 2 in stoppage time...
Colinjb Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Ok, I'll be Mr Positive. We are going to hold firm.
SuperSAINT Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 The fun part of these experiences is always seeing just how we'll **** it up. I am strapped in. You just know when 1 goes in, the floodgates will open. Prove me wrong, Saints.
OttawaSaint Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Wtf?!? There was nothing on that challenge. Yellow for Stephens. Bull****!
Sheaf Saint Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Bit of a harsh booking for Stephens there. Fractionally late and a definite foul, but worthy of a yellow?
John Boy Saint Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 How’s that a yellow whilst naive that second yellow for Valery was pretty damn soft too
benjii Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 He's tugging off Armstrong, as I said I would.
OttawaSaint Posted 12 January, 2019 Posted 12 January, 2019 Brilliant by Redmond, should have shot though.
