Honourable mention to Alfie Jones for landing himself a new contract at Hull earlier this month & ready for a season in the Championship.

Great to see.  Always had something about him.

Because some of our young players have been discarded by Saints because they don't suit Hasenhüttl's style of play doesn't mean they are not good players. If things go badly this season and Hasenhüttl is ditched, we might come to regret some of the decisions made about young players recently.

I don’t think Alfie Jones was let go because he didn’t fit a style. He’s 23 now and was behind Bednarek, Vestergaard, Stephens and Salisu in the pecking order.

Agree with Harv.   

Some players advance well,  but there is still a lot of distance between the B team, and a realistic chance to take over a CB spot from Vestergaard or Bednarek

and with Salisu on the way in,  unfortunately Alfie would have a long wait to get a real chance of first team football.

I'm glad for his sake that he has got a real chance of a higher level of football, remembering that there are still a lot of good sides in the Championship.
