Saint-Reece Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Can't quite work out what formation that is. 4-2-3-1 perhaps? Think it could be seen as 4-2-3-1 or 4-2-2-2 possibly. Much stronger than I thought Ralph would put out.
nta786 Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Can't quite work out what formation that is. 4-2-3-1 perhaps? a 4222 I'd hazard? or a 4231 with Long in the hole behind Austin? Gunn Cedric Stephens Vestergaard Targett JWP Slattery Redmond Elyounoussi Long Austin I mean it is a very attacking line up but a very defensive bench!!!
Batman Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 so, that is... McCarthy Bertrand Bednarek Yoshida Romeu Lemina Hoj Ings Rested/not available
larry12 Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Gunn, Cedric, Vestegaard, Stephens, Targett, JWP, Slattery, Elyounoussi, Redmond, Long, Austin Happy with that, although a very lightweight midfield! Happy with a lightweight midfield? Confused.com. Lightweight midfield especially with Prowse of course. Yes I did see the Chelsea game. Shame he didn't mark anybody for 90 minutes. That would have been slightly helpful.
Useful Idiot Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Can't quite work out what formation that is. 4-2-3-1 perhaps? Could be 4-4-2 when defending, 4-2-2-2 when attacking with the wingers drifting inside. Not sure who the ball winners are in midfield, though. JWP might have to get through a lot of work, I've not noticed Slattery break up play much for the u23s.
Matthew Le God Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 7 academy players in the 18. Nice. 8 have played for Saints academy teams.
Cabbage_Face Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Looking forward to seeing Slattery. Always been hyped up by Forum members.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 so, that is... McCarthy Bertrand Bednarek Yoshida Romeu Lemina Hoj Ings Rested/not available Bednarek and Romeu on bench so partial rest
percy windham Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 8 have played for Saints academy teams. If I’d said 8, you’d have gone “well actually...” on me and said Stephens doesn’t count as he came from Plymouth.
Cabbage_Face Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Got a feeling that midfield will get over-run. But I trust in Ralph.
Matthew Le God Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 If I’d said 8, you’d have gone “well actually...” on me and said Stephens doesn’t count as he came from Plymouth. No i wouldn't. Stephens played for Southampton's under 18 academy team... That makes him a Saints academy product. Of course he is partly a Plymouth academy product as well, but that doesn't mean he isn't a Saints academy player.

Matthew Le God Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 (edited) You just did thou. Did you read the conversation? What are you talking about!? I did not say he doesn't count. I said he does count! Edited 5 January, 2019 by Matthew Le God
mcbendy Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 So, what do we think about the omission of Hoedt?
Cabbage_Face Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Did you read the conversation? What are talking about!? I did not say he doesn't count. I said he does count! Triggered.
egg Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Or it might be Hasenhuttl's preferred formation... 4-2-2-2 I think you could be right.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Triggered. Who are you trying to impress cabbage?
Cabbage_Face Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Who are you trying to impress cabbage? You. Anyway back on topic please. Looking forward to seeing 4-2-2-2 and some youth players.
jamesfp1 Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 So, what do we think about the omission of Hoedt? He's been omitted since Ralph arrived, what else is there to think?
Sheaf Saint Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 likely to be any streams for this one? https://www.reddit.com/r/soccerstreams/comments/acu4r7/1500_gmt_derby_county_vs_southampton/
JoeShmoe Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 So, what do we think about the omission of Hoedt? He gawn ... as is Gabbi .. good riddance Glad to see Slattery get a game, club has been high on him from an early age
Pamplemousse Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Nugent on the bench for them... hope someone takes him out if he comes on.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 You. Anyway back on topic please. Looking forward to seeing 4-2-2-2 and some youth players. Must try harder then As far has formation goes, let's wait and see
Matthew Le God Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 I thought Slattery was a CB? He is a creative central midfielder.
nta786 Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Nugent on the bench for them... hope someone takes him out if he comes on. nah, rather fans intimidate him and he ends up getting the basics all wrong! an own goal would be nice. can't wish injuries when he no longer plays for 'them'
SimplyRed&White Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 So, what do we think about the omission of Hoedt? I have heard from within that he has been told to find another club. Club not happy he gave an interview and was critical of training (whilst Hughes still Manager) May be other reasons as well including attitude.
JustMike Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Happy with a lightweight midfield? Confused.com. Lightweight midfield especially with Prowse of course. Yes I did see the Chelsea game. washsaint Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 I like Ralph's style. 8 Academy graduates on the bench or starting. I love this approach and you can see how much of a lift his arrival has given the younger players as they now know there is an opportunity for them
Pamplemousse Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 I have heard from within that he has been told to find another club. Club not happy he gave an interview and was critical of training (whilst Hughes still Manager) May be other reasons as well including attitude. He won't be missed.
Nordic Saint Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Derby are fielding a strong team. All of their regular first teamers are either in the starting 11 or on the subs bench.

skintsaint Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Derby are fielding a strong team. All of their regular first teamers are either in the starting 11 or on the subs bench. 6 changes from their last league game though.

skintsaint Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 WOOT! ...lets kick on and get another! OG I think?
nta786 Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 well awful defending, on a par with Hoedt's own goals against Liverpool and City away but no complaints!! goal is a goal and i'll take it.
Ohio Saint Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 http://soccerlegacy.net/premier-league-live-stream-6/ English stream here Yeah I see that site has been consistently good. Thoroughly worth bookmarking.
Sheaf Saint Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Own goal? Looked like it was going in and the keeper was beaten. Got to be Redmond's surely?
angelman Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 ANother good one - http://www.myfeed4u.net/watch/2886242/2/Derby-County-vs-Southampton.html
Baird of the land Posted 5 January, 2019 Posted 5 January, 2019 Redmond has started very well at both ends. Targett already looked weak defensively.
