Viking Saint Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Team to play Southampton: Kepa, Alonso, Rudiger, Luiz, Azpilicueta, Kante, Jorginho, Barkley, Hazard, Willian, Morata Subs: Caballero, Fabregas, Loftus-Cheek, Zappacosta, Christensen, Emerson, Ampadu
Sheaf Saint Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Cedric back in, Gunn starts, Slattery on the bench.
Shroppie Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Cedric in from the cold. Guess there weren't really any other options. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
CB Fry Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Happy with that. Quite hopeful that JWP will take this chance. I certainly won't miss Lemina who was all over the place on Sunday. Good luck Gunn.
Greenridge Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Ralph said he wants to see all his squad so he’s sticking to his word. This team looks to have a chance of a result at least.
saint77 Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Harsh on McCarthy Not really he’s been in poor form for a month now
Saint Matty 76 Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Bertrand in for Valery, Lemina in for Romeu and Hojbjerg in for JWP. Would that actually be our best team with this squad?
SuperSAINT Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Happy with that. Quite hopeful that JWP will take this chance. I certainly won't miss Lemina who was all over the place on Sunday. Good luck Gunn. He has but I think he needs to rest his injury.
Sheaf Saint Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Harsh on McCarthy According to Cabbage Face, he's off in the window. So being dropped to the bench tonight could be due to that rather than a reflection of his recent form.
OttawaSaint Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Cedders and Gunn in! Interesting. Still no place in matchday squad for Hoedt or Gabbi.
saintwbu Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Think it's safe to say Gabbi and Hoedt are off, but I assumed Cedric was too but now not so sure! Ralph's nuts isn't he, just picks whoever he fancies whenever he fancies!
Saint Benali Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 That midfield looks bad. But with injuries, suspensions etc not really many options. Personally I think giving Gunn a look is a good shout. McCarthy has done ok but his positioning has gone backwards a bit. He has made most of the saves a keeper is expected to save though. I keep forgetting we spent a lot of money on Gunn so I don't see the issue in giving him a chance. Won't know how good he is if he doesn't play. Same as the other youngsters.

Ralph's nuts isn't he, just picks whoever he fancies whenever he fancies! Cedric may be off but while he’s here then he should be used if he can help. As for the other changes Ralph said he wants to see them all play so he knows what he’s got and what might be needed in this window.
Chez Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 (edited) Begs the question, why didn't he play Cedric against City? Bizarre. Is Targett injured or has Ralf just decided that pretty much anyone else must be a better option at left back? Makes a lot of sense for him to get a loo at everyone, although can you really make a decision on players based on one game, especially against city or Chelsea? Edited 2 January, 2019 by Chez

Baird of the land Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Cedric playing I assume because so low on options at wingback. Gunn over McCarthy is interesting. May just want to have a proper look at him. Wonder is Davis in Glasgow already.
Pamplemousse Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 I thought Gunn would've played on Saturday tbh.
shurlock Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Chelsea 3-0 is 8/1. How much are you putting down pal?
benjii Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 I thought Gunn would've played on Saturday tbh. He probably will.

benjii Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Hope that cockle Alonso suffers a comeuppance today. Nasty player who gets away with it because he sounds exotic and has a granny's hairdo.

Interesting that he hasn't seen Hoedt play a single minute in any of his 4 games.
DT Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Gunn in goal. MacCarthy off? Cedric also playing. Odd Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Greenridge Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Interesting that he hasn't seen Hoedt play a single minute in any of his 4 games. He probably watched the video nasties and decided he didn’t need to see any more!
simo Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Gunn in goal. MacCarthy off? Cedric also playing. Odd Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I don't think McCarthy will be leaving unless it's for first team football he's spent ages as a number two so where could be seen as a good move for him atm ?

suewhistle Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Good to see Slattery involved Yes, I noticed him in the training pics, and had to think for a moment who it was. He's certainly filled out over the last year. I also noticed Tyreke Johnson training with the first team. Keeping the u-23s on their toes!
Sheaf Saint Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Any streams for the game? Just search for Reddit soccer streams and you will find loads of decent ones normally.
Mystic Force Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 I now see our problem. Only Bednarek is happy to be here!
Mosin Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Do we reckon they'll be streams? https://www.reddit.com/r/soccerstreams/comments/abvvk0/1945_gmt_chelsea_vs_southampton/
mcbendy Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 It's on NBCSN I think. In which case it should be possible to get a low res stream through e.g. cric free. Watch out for all of the dodgy pop-ups... I use Opera Browser as it includes a built-in free VPN.
Bananaman Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Any streams for the game? http://firstrowsportes.net/soccer/chelsea-southampton-krk69cc29?l=1526497006
saint1977 Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Interesting that he hasn't seen Hoedt play a single minute in any of his 4 games. Didn’t need to from training and attitude which it was abundately clear stank. Took Ralph a month, and we wouldn’t have bought such a lemon in the first place with him in charge. PS nice to see another Saint from Devon on the board and not far from me
ericofarabia Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Romeu is going to have his work cut out trying to keep Kante qiuet. JWP, Redmond and Armstrong aren't exactly going to be much help in the tackling derpartment.
OttawaSaint Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Should be streams, it’s on TSN1 here. Ralph just called his forwards Ingsy, Reddy and Armstrong.
Bad Wolf Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 https://www.neostreamz.net/game/chelsea-vs-southampton/ Great picture on this one!!!
Manuel Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Another option... http://ripple.is/football/5763-chelsea-vs-southampton
Bad Wolf Posted 2 January, 2019 Posted 2 January, 2019 Should be streams, it’s on TSN1 here. Ralph just called his forwards Ingsy, Reddy and Armstrong. Koeman used to use their nicknames. I always used to cringe whenever he said "Longy". I thought Redmond went by "Redders" anyway. That's what Obafemi called him after the Huddersfield game.

I know right, its like OR got tons more than JWP last game, then I realised, JWP and Bedarek made most tackles for us against City. I am just hoping them both play well, not better than each other, but well together.

That's what Obafemi called him after the Huddersfield game. Ralph was kind of stumbling through his words so he may have meant to say that.
