If they do find the perpetrator, they shoul simply march him/her into the departure lounge and lock the doors.

On a serious note, what a clear example to future terrorists of a low risk, high reward method for disruption.

If a terrorist needs this as an example then they will fail at the first hurdle

It’s amazing some loon with a drone could cause so much disruption, you would have thought there would be safeguards in place and methods to stop them. Even if they catch whoever did it what’s stopping it happening tomorrow?

I have mentioned before the danger of these things. A plane coming inot land is very vulnerable to these. Should they be sold under licence only?? Imagine them being flown into crowds with chemicals or fuel etc. A ccheap way of spreading terror for little cost.

"Failing" Grayling only took 20 hours to respond so I'm sure he'll have it all sorted soon.

More seriously, after approx 150 incidents this year, you would think that some contingency planning would be in place.

A double glazing salesman and his wife !!!!

Surely he would want the airport to make as much noise as possible. Unless his neighbour the triple glazing salesman was cleaning up.

Released without charge. Pictures on front page of every paper first as the bast@rds who ruined Xmas. Did seem odd
I did think it was strange that their names were released very quickly. I assume they will be sueing the papers etc

Surely if they had been charged, the over-the-top publicity would have prejudiced a fair trial.

How can you just arrest the completely wrong bloke? You’d like to have more faith that old bill have skills

You would think that Sussex Police have a modicum of common sense;

Policeman knocks on somebody's front door - " Good evening sir, could you possibly account for your whereabouts on Wednesday evening ?"

"Of course, I was working in Kent".

"Can anybody verify that ?"

"My Boss".

Policeman then asks "And what about Friday ?"

"Oh, I was driving my boss's daughter around, you can check that with him as well"

"Ok, thanks. Oh, by the way, do you, perhaps own a drone ?"

"No"

"Ok sir, sorry for bothering you".

now police are saying the 'drone' could actually be theirs

This is after they arrested people for it

Edit, it the suspected drone may have been a routine police drone used to look out for drones

Police have played a blinder here.
