saintwbu Posted 15 December, 2018 Posted 15 December, 2018 If Romeu is back to being the shield for the back 4 like he was under Puel, then for me he definitely starts. But yes is he's expected to do anything more than that then I'd be sceptical. I have a feeling Ralph will deploy him in that role he had under Puel though. Think Long may start too if he's fit enough, get in their faces from the off.

Play to his strengths and he could be vital to us, he was exceptional in that season under Puel. Really hope he can find that form under Ralph.
Nolan Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 I'm not sure how anyone can have read the article on the official web site and not think Romeu is the first name on the team sheet. https://southamptonfc.com/news/2018-12-15/tactical-watch-oriol-romeu-saints-vs-arsenal-premier-league-1819
Cabbage_Face Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 Think we will play well, we will press and be harder to break down. Sadly I think a mistake will cost us. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cabbage_Face Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 Also important they come out from the start, get the crowd noisy. There will be a buzz before we start, but if we come out pressing and closing down, it could get the crowd going. Really excited for this one, don’t see us winning, but excited to see a change. whelk Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 We are going to win today. Arsenal’s unbeaten run is over achievement. Today it ends.

doddisalegend Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 Personal choice would be... Is that FiFA game ratings? no wonder we are **** no one with a rating above 78...

You had better hurry up and get round mine just putting a decent Sunday Breakfast on! That’ll set you up a treat
Dusic Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 Think Romeu, Cedric and Hojbjerg are all one yellow away from a ban. Wouldn't want any to miss Huddersfield, especially Cedric given the absolute lack of full back cover.

Pamplemousse Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 We are going to win today. Arsenal’s unbeaten run is over achievement. Today it ends. I was looking at their forum, they're still a bit wary of us. St Mary's is a bogey ground for them apparently, although I'd argue it's a bogey ground for us too, so that equals things out on that front.

Wouldn't want any to miss Huddersfield, especially Cedric given the absolute lack of full back cover. That's not true is it we have Valery who was good against man u and awful against Cardiff. Cedric is better but he is going to pick up his last yellow for a ban sooner of later I don't see the point in not playing players to try avoid 5 yellows. Also that is impressive from Romeu managing to pick up so four yellows given he has only made nine league appearances (and four of those where as a sub) and 10 tackles this season
kjurwi Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 Had a dream tonight we won 3-0 Only problem is both Jake Heskets and Josh Sims scored.
CB Fry Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 The clackers are back guysDer Klackerhoffenmaus I believe we have to call them now.
benjii Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 Der Klackerhoffenmaus I believe we have to call them now. It would be die Klackerhoffenmaus. But the correct name is die Alpenfannyklackker.
Maggie May Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 die Alpenfannyklackker. What did I ever to do you? ;_;
Jonnyboy Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 Is that FiFA game ratings? no wonder we are **** no one with a rating above 78... Too many smilers too, only Armstrong is serious about his job.
Colinjb Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 (edited) No Stephens or Cedric. Valery/Yoshi/Bednarek/Vestergaard/Targett Good to have Ings back. Edited 16 December, 2018 by Colinjb
skintsaint Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 McCarthy Yoshi Vestergarrd Ings Romeu Armstrong Redmond Hojb Target Bednarek Valery
Bananaman Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 I like the tactic. Any defender on the books, get on the pitch and stop conceding ****ing goals!
igsey Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 No Lemina in the squad. Tyreke Johnson on the bench - don't know anything about him personally. Only 1 CB for Arsenal, looks like Lichtsteiner will be the other CB alongside Koscielny - still think we'll get smashed but we might be able to get a goal past them.
mrfahaji Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 As much as I'm sceptical of Vestergaard, at least Yoshida is playing alongside him - the only situation where I can see Vestergaard as a viable option.
skintsaint Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 Is Lemina injured or omitted? Was in the training pics 3 days ago..
hypochondriac Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 That looks worrying ...Not really. A few weeks ago we would have been thrashed whatever team we played and however we set up. Let's trust the new manager and see if he can give us an improved performance with some positives even if we end up losing.
egg Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 We won't play a 3. I think it'll be Bednarek at RB with Valery ahead of him. Johnson as Valery replacement.
Saint_clark Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 Bit surprised that after everything we heard about his style of play he's decided to go 3 at the back after one game in charge and in his first home game. Glad he's picking Bednarek though. Sent from my SM-J600FN using Tapatalk
DT Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 No Lemina. I won't say it... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pamplemousse Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 Interesting selection. In Ralph we trust though, I'm just hoping for a positive performance and a coherent tactical plan.
Saint Pete Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 Got to assume Lemina has an injury. Otherwise would be pretty bizarre to leave him out.
Matthew Le God Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 Bit surprised that after everything we heard about his style of play he's decided to go 3 at the back after one game in charge and in his first home game. On day one at the club Hasenhuttl said his favoured systems are 4-2-2-2, 4-3-3 and 3-4-3. We are playing 3-4-3 today, so it isn't a huge surprise given he said it was one of his three favoured formations.

doddisalegend Posted 16 December, 2018 Posted 16 December, 2018 Not the team I was expecting didn't think we'd see Ings didn't he only return to training on Thursday? No sign of Lemina, Cedric was outside the stadium getting in a car when I arrived and no Gabbi either.
