Dusic Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 1. Stick to one main system and get players comfortable in playing it. 2. Find the best combination from our 5 CBs who each have clear weaknesses and overall are about as good as each other. 3. Win a home game to get fans truely onside and capitalise on a revitalised fanbase. 4. Quickly judge which players are not up to it and attempt to move them on in January to free up cash and space. 5. Track down the elusive Gao and convince him we need to spend in January to pull ourselves safe.
Cabbage_Face Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 I think 3 has half been won. We haven't appointed the same old low end mangerial roundabout type and someone who fits the "Southampton Way" nonsense. I would imagine he wouldve seen us play, knows what the problems are, and i think the board will back him fully in the summer. TBF he will get Bertrand and Cedric back to their best as they both suit his kind of system, it's just the CB he will need to work with. It's all very exciting.
doddisalegend Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 (edited) 6. Play Charlie Austin at every opportunity... Errr mmm... Edited 5 December, 2018 by doddisalegend

doddisalegend Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 9. Turn the new "Henry" into a goal machine.
Cabbage_Face Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 10. Increase Redmonds key passes and 2nd phase ratio
shurlock Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 11. See Jack Stephens kick on and dislodge Harry Maguire from the England side.
Batman Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 Convince the city council to build an ice rink
Cabbage_Face Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 12. Return Big Fraser to one of the best goalkeepers in Europe 13. No more groupon
Baird of the land Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 5. Track down the elusive Gao and convince him we need to spend in January to pull ourselves safe. If we are going to do any business in January it should be loans.

ALWAYS_SFC Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 After reading the thread 1. Ignore this forum
Cabbage_Face Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 15. More fan forums 16. Build a bigger stadium 17. Work out how we can fill our current stadium 18.???? 19. Profit.
niceandfriendly Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 To get us able to attack teams for more than just the first 10 minutes of each game. Good luck RaHa!
Greenridge Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 1. Not get relegated. But what about Puel. You didn't mention Puel. Should he be more Puel-like than the recent managers. Should he change his name to Puel? Do you have any thoughts on Puel?

Greenridge Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 Focus must now be 100% on RaHa. Puel is the past. For most, yes. For some, no chance.
Cabbage_Face Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 Focus must now be 100% on RaHa. Puel is the past. Unless he gets 7th and a cup victory, he won't live up to the god that is Puel.
niceandfriendly Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 For most, yes. For some, no chance. I get the impression those who go on about how awful Puel was only do so when somebody pipes up and says something about him being world class. But I reckon we won't be hearing much of Puel's name around here any more. We appear to have a competent manager in RaHa and one which might, just might, unite the fanbase. Dreaming?

It seems like an awesome appointment. Fingers and everything else crossed! Blackmore was saying that we talked to four people about RaHa and they all said we had no chance of getting him!
kyle04 Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 (edited) Sell Austin Edited 5 December, 2018 by kyle04
Mr X Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 Sell AustinThis! Would be extremely disappointed if Austin is anywhere near RaHa's team! Hopefully someone has had a word in his ear & told him he's past it! Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Dark Munster Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 For most, yes. For some, no chance. Very true, some just can't stop blaming him, and refuse to admit they were wrong. One day they'll see the light and be much happier for it.
Cabbage_Face Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 Stop the zonal marking This should have been stopped before it started. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

mrfahaji Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 Stop the zonal marking Zonal marking isn’t necessarily bad though - putting men on the posts is a form of it. But if it’s not coached properly then it’s a disaster, and is more obvious when it goes wrong.
Sheaf Saint Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 Sign at least one competent CB in January. If we can only do one thing to improve our situation, that would be it. Not one of our current CBs would be a regular starter at any other PL club.
CB Fry Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 "Who is zis Mike Osman I am hearing about? Very motivational, yes? Bring him back I think is good"

Assume the manager's first job will be to work out whether any of the 5/6 centre backs can be made into a complimentary pairing.
simo Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 "Who is zis Mike Osman I am hearing about? Very motivational, yes? Bring him back I think is good" Careful with that one it's racist to do accents you know !?
fanimal Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 !. Buy a proper centre forward 2. Get Sam Gallagher fit 3. get Gabbiadini scoring 4. get Ings fit 5. failing that, get Carillo back
Sheaf Saint Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 I thought Stephens was good today. Assume the manager's first job will be to work out whether any of the 5/6 centre backs can be made into a complimentary pairing. He was the best of a bad bunch tonight, but he is still a long way from being at the level we need if we want to get back to being a top half club.
saintsdan Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 He was the best of a bad bunch tonight, but he is still a long way from being at the level we need if we want to get back to being a top half club. I thought he played well at the weekend too. I think there's a decent centre back in there. He's still very inexperienced for a centre half but reads the game quite well. With the right manager and a settled defensive partner he could develop quite quickly.
Ultimatt Posted 6 December, 2018 Posted 6 December, 2018 Can we rename this thread to "Top 5 pledges..." I can't take it seriously otherwise. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
