whelk Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 To a man everyone I know is excited by this one. I can’t think of anyone rather have signed so well done the board..and Gao. None of us had heard of him last week though so all on anticipation.
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 Silva............................................
mrfahaji Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 Of all the names I heard mentioned, Hasenhuttl was the one I was excited by. Flores would have been a "I like him, hopefully he'll do well" but nothing more. Most of the other names doing the rounds bored and scared me.
trousers Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 I'd have been equally happy with Marcelo Bielsa (would have been little chance of us prizing him out Leeds, I know, but the question seems to be coming from a theoretical/philisophical perspective?)
Pilchards Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 I would of given Puel another try or even Hoddle.
DuncanRG Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 I haven't heard of the people I'd have preferred.
Cabbage_Face Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 I've heard of this manager in the spanish leagues doing a really good job on a small budget. Pellegrino or something.
stthrobber Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 I hadn't previously heard of him, but his bio speaks for itself and if he plays high pressing football a la Poch, then I'll be very happy. I'm excited by the prospect of him tbh. Moyes, Allardyce etc would be a sideways move from Hughes. Ralph appears to have a winning mentality and formula, so there was no-one that I know of, currently out of work that fits the bill as well as this bloke appears to
Bad Wolf Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 The ex-Monaco guy that Henry replaced was my first choice but not militantly since I didn't bother learning his name.
tajjuk Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 I didn't realistically think we could get someone of his level to be honest. I'd heard of him before though didn't know much about him except he was manager of Leipzig, who were making waves because they were upsetting the German football elite and were being very successful. I'd presume a manager of a club like that would only be going upwards to bigger clubs. Jardim/Rogers was the best scenario I was hoping for and more realistically expecting QSF
Heisenberg Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 On paper a very decent appointment. One that finally unites us fans. Hope this works out as us fans have suffered enough the past few years. Onwards and upwards and without Les Reed and Hughes I feel positive.
Dark Munster Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 Hopefully RH will be a success, and I'm quietly optimistic. If he isn't, or gets prised away by a bigger club, the good news is that Pearson appears to be interested.
niceandfriendly Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 Schmidt would have been exciting, hell Wenger would have been wonderful! But RaHa is pretty much as good as we could have hoped for I think.
BARCELONASAINT Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 I'm very happy with this one and very surprised we have got our man......can only think we have promised him funds
Baird of the land Posted 5 December, 2018 Posted 5 December, 2018 Very excited. After recent appointments I was expecting little and to get someone so exciting on paper is fantastic. Let’s hope it’s the start of a return to better times.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 7 December, 2018 Posted 7 December, 2018 Only the lord Jesus as he has proved he can make miracles Ralph is going for one good luck to him i like all i have read heard and seen so far!
adrian lord Posted 7 December, 2018 Posted 7 December, 2018 Nope. Perfectly happy and excited. Sense of the club and fan base being electrified once again.
austsaint Posted 7 December, 2018 Posted 7 December, 2018 Nope. Perfectly happy and excited. Sense of the club and fan base being electrified once again. That's the thing - there is a sense of hope, excitement and anticipation again; not experienced since the Koeman, Mane, Pochettino, Vic, Morgan, Pelle, Toby, VVD days.
Bad Wolf Posted 7 December, 2018 Posted 7 December, 2018 That's the thing - there is a sense of hope, excitement and anticipation again; not experienced since the Koeman, Mane, Pochettino, Vic, Morgan, Pelle, Toby, VVD days. You didn't feel that at the Cup Final or when we beat Inter Milan?
austsaint Posted 7 December, 2018 Posted 7 December, 2018 You didn't feel that at the Cup Final or when we beat Inter Milan? I did - the Cup Final was a massive occasion ending in a cruel defeat and the Europa League was a great thing for the Club leading on from Koeman's second season - but the quality of Football and general direction of the Club has been in decline sine Koeman left and Ralph's appointment has turned around the malaise of the past 2 1/2 seasons, whether he can turn things round remains to be seen.
