jawillwill Posted 4 November, 2018 Share Posted 4 November, 2018 To be fair, if you ignore the unlucky own goals and goals that were scored in injury time, we only lost 3-1. I'd have snapped your hands off for that before kick off.
Saint Albert Posted 4 November, 2018 Share Posted 4 November, 2018 We looked like the team of mugs, amateurs and has-beens that they usually put out to get embarrassed against the Harlem Globetrotters. Ade Posted 4 November, 2018 Share Posted 4 November, 2018 Reed and Kruger won't go, although God knows they should. So change must come by getting rid of the cancer that is Mark Hughes and his coaching team. Clueless, the ****ing lot of them. This squad is better than that, but they are not getting anywhere near what they should out of these players. Having unfit players is the ultimate **** take though, there's no excuse for that. Because of that alone he should be sacked, quite apart from the fact that he is absolutely ****ing useless and a complete fraud as a manager. badgerx16 Posted 4 November, 2018 Share Posted 4 November, 2018 3 possibilities; 1) The players respond positively and we get 6 points from Watford and Fulham, and the team gain some self-belief 2) Hughes is sacked 3) nothing changes, at least until the close of the January window I reckon #3. Faz Posted 4 November, 2018 Share Posted 4 November, 2018 Whilst I take little comfort from it, we did actually lay gloves on them a few times, which is more than most teams have done this season, and played well in parts - 6 shot on target when their average is something ridiculous like 1.8. They are just so clinical. Oh, and in Benjamin Mendy, they comfortably had the worst player on the pitch. Farewell Sparky.

CanadaSaint Posted 4 November, 2018 Share Posted 4 November, 2018 Utterly bemusing formation-wise, considering that everyone knows about City's wide threat with Silva and Sané. Cedric, who can have trouble containing one decent attacker, is given two to handle in loads of space. Meanwhile, JWP, who could be out there helping him, is getting in the way of PEH and Lemina in the middle while they're trying to protect the back four. But the far bigger problem isn't the stuff on the pitch or the touchline, as bad as it is. There are few sides even on City's planet, never mind at our end of the table. The owners and Ralph know SFA about football, so Reed has them completely by the nuts. Even if they knew that he was the problem, they'd have no idea what to do about it. They need to start meeting with some football people who can tell them what everyone else knows because it's been clearly apparent for two or three years. If you have to keep changing managers, and keep seeing expensive signings sitting on the bench, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it's time to look one level up from the manager. It's There Posted 4 November, 2018 Share Posted 4 November, 2018 Lack of fitness is a key result of poor training and management. Fitness leads to being able to compete for 90 minutes. This may help kickstart a bit of luck needed to get points. The players clearly have little confidence in the current regime and must be very frustrated (those that remember Poch training like JWP or have been at a top club like Ings) or not now any different (not bright maybe). They have to do as they are instructed- so do the instructions needs to change? Yes. I believe we have some good players who are underperforming. They are not world beaters- but with a wind of change could be nearer between 8-12th even his season, though I'd settle for 17th again on the basis that we can improve with the right set up. It's time the club's leadership did some proactive actions- sadly meaning yet another manager change + also re thinking our coaching strategies. We need someone with a clear vision and fire in their belly- and a modern approach.

SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 4 November, 2018 Share Posted 4 November, 2018 7 points from 11 games, is relegation form. And not good enough. The players are not good enough, and unbelievable already look resigned to it (relegation). Hughes is just not working for the team, as are a lot of players and need to go. Wreck it Ralph, G-Reed & Wilson, should go. AS their recruitment has been, p*ss poor at best, Shambolic at worst. But were be in the bottom 3 , with a handful of games left before changes are made. But it will fail this time!!

The psychological effect of this hammering is hard to overestimate, assuming the players still give a f*** which at the moment is debatable. Miltonaggro Posted 4 November, 2018 Share Posted 4 November, 2018 Not defeat but manner of the defeat. I wanted Hughes to stay at the end of last season, thought he’d earned that to be honest, but we now look lacklustre and bereft of ideas to a man; lacking in fitness and careless. Hate to say it but to have a decent chance to stay up we may need yet another change ASAP. In any sane universe Reed and wee Ross just have been long gone by now, plus Krueger in all honesty - three professional chancers stealing a living. The lack of direction from Gao at the very top is worrying and seems to be a principal cause of the malaise, either lost in translation or couldn’t care less - who knows? Question in who could you bring in to galvanise this lot, a decent CEO for Krueger would be easy, give Mitchell Reed and Wilson’s joint salary to come in as Head of Football ops and recruitment would seem sensible, but who as the manager at this point, goodness knows! Saint Albert Posted 4 November, 2018 Share Posted 4 November, 2018 Hughes talks about today’s effort... “Opening period is always important in any game and we didn't really acquit ourselves well. City will always ask questions and have a lot of talent, power and pace. They create two versus ones in good areas. You need to be more aggressive than we were able to show. We found ourselves 3-0 down and to all extents and purposes the game is gone. "I was more pleased second half that we showed some pride. The scoreline is maybe a bit of a harsh state from our point of view. But you have to hold your hands up, City are a very good team. "Going forward we caused them some problems. We could have made the scoreline more palatable."

A grim two and a half years you ****in clowns No disgrace losing to best team in the country IF you put in the effort, look like a team and give it a go BUT to defend like a pub team and have absolutely no clue is unforgivable. I don’t want to read any ******** about a better effort second half - it was 4-1 then and City were in cruise mode. derry Posted 4 November, 2018 Share Posted 4 November, 2018 First goal JWP as he does, tackled like a weakling and presented the ball to Aguero. Sterling on Hoedt's shoulder was off side and interfering. Second goal Lamina couldn't be arsed to fill in and spectated allowing the gap to be exploited. Fourth goal, the weak Soares robbed on the goal line should have put his foot through it. Poor decision making. We were better in the second half. JWP was put in to do a job which he didn't even remotely do. Armstrong and Obafemi looked useful when they came on. Great ball from Bertrand for Ings. There is a team in there somewhere. McCarthy had little chance, Soares is ok on the ball but defends poorly. Stephens was ok, Hoedt both good and bad. He is very weak on his right side. Bertrand was exposed by the quick passing and lack of help from Lamina. Hojbjerg caught in possession too often. Lamina looked good at times but doesn't like doing the hard yards. Ings and Long worked their socks off against a defence that hadn't conceded a goal in ten games. Our tackling is physically weak. I lost count of the times we challenged for the ball weakly and City players took the ball. It's about time our player blocking the ball, gets his head and shoulder and all his weight over the ball and cleans out the opponent by tackling strongly. Dangling a foot doesn't cut it. We were not bad attacking in the second half against possibly the best team in Europe. Against lesser teams I think we will do alright. Shame we were caught on the break and few of the players busted a gut to get back goal side and help out.

saint1977 Posted 4 November, 2018 Share Posted 4 November, 2018 Would be a good call but given the situation with Leicester’s owner, I can see him being loyal to Leuven and the family. WGS is similar to what you are describing and would pistol whip these lazy flops into submission and get them fighting fit. He would not take any s hit whatsoever from Reed, but Les has to go anyway, along with his social care e,g. Wee Ross the tea boy. If Gao was vaguely smart, he’d appoint an abrasive manager that Les and Ralph couldn’t work with, but he won’t because he hasn’t got a f ucking clue.
